Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 160: A move - I
Thankfully her daughter had fallen asleep before 8 in the night.
Something that pinched her heart but Evelyn had to do it. If she did not then it would be a trouble to hire a babysitter which she could not afford at the moment.
So she would make sure that her baby would only take a small nap in the day and make sure that she slept the entire night.
Just one Bella had fallen asleep, Evelyn picked up her bag and made her way outside not before making sure that she had everything away which was more important.
She triple locked the door and made sure to check it. When the door did not bulge Evelyn felt satisfied and finally moved out of the building.
She made her way towards the tube station and waited patiently for the familiar tube to arrive. She was supposed to give into the deeper part of London where she would work for a four and a half star hotel.
Almost everyone she knew would not step down from staying at a 5 star hotel so she was safe for the four and half Star One. The work was difficult, that she would agree but she also got paid a lot.
And one of the hotel policies stated, like her who cleaned the rooms, found stuff that was left behind by the people that were staying in the room’s. If they did not complain about it in 5 working days, Evelyn and the other workers could claim it for themselves.
So far Evelyn has scored two diamond rings that had not been claimed by anyone and everyone had waited for two weeks before she ended up selling them.
The money was huge. She received sixty thousand euros for one ring and almost a hundred thousand for another but all that money had been stored away.
Evelyn had no idea when they would have to shift into a completely different state or country and she needed hard cash for that which is why she refrained from spending it.
She got into the hotel and checked into her time. She was here at 7:59.
Dragging the cleaning supplies behind him she once again walked into the suites that were not occupied.
She was supposed to be someone who would give a thorough clean to the rooms and that could only be given to those that were not occupied or the residents had left.
Evelyn did not want a service that would hurriedly tidy up the room just before the residents would arrive from wherever they would go.
The job she had was more detailed and yes she was paid for it better.
****
Now she entered the second last room.
It was one of the biggest suites but now she was used to cleaning them and it only made it easier.
Dragging har cleaning trolley behind them Evelyn opened the door to the room with an ID card and started wiping every surface she could find.
She might be wiping the space slightly aggressively but the back pain that she felt made her do so especially when she had to bend down.
She reached for the cleaning liquid and sprayed it on the table but noticed that none of it came out.
Turning the bottle around to look from the uncovered side, she noticed that it was empty.
"Shit," likely caused under her breath and moved from the bedroom to the living room where her cleaning trolley was.
"Where..where..where.." She looked around at the gazillion cleaning products that she was given. She always made sure that she had an extra product and the manager had no problem with it.
Had she dropped outside in the hallway?
The trolley was really having to carry and at times it would bump in the hallway or in the lift.
Evelyn left the trolley where it was and walked outside the door where she found the cleaning liquid right beside the lift.
There it was.
Just as she bent down to retrieve it, the lift doors opened with a ping.
"Move," she had a cold yet familiar voice say and immediately stepped away from the man but got her face towards the wall.
She bowed her head a little and closed the cleaning supply in her hand but did not look at who it was.
The footsteps faded away and she heard a loud Slam of the door. Closing her eyes she let out a sigh of relief and immediately returned to the room that she was supposed to clean.
This time she did not bother cleaning them thoroughly. It was 4:30 in the morning and she could be excused half an hour early, especially when she had done the job.
"Fine," Evan said, "but remember if I do not find the cleaning up to the mark.."
"It is." Evelyn reassured her and with a nod of dismissal, she walked out of the office of the manager and towards the receptionist.
"Hey," she softly greeted Rhea, "who is staying in the largest suite on floor 52?"
At the moment that was the only one occupied and Evelyn knew that whosoever she had made in the left was definitely staying there.
"I got you, girl," Rhea winked and opened the register, "it...Giovanni Rosario. Why do you ask? Do you want to file a complaint against him for sexual harassment or misdemeanor?"
Evelyn could not hear her eyes away from the name Giovanni Rozario.
Now the voice seemed familiar and now she could finally put a face to the voice. For two years, almost three, there was going to be one Italian that he was going to be facing and it would all be over.
"No.." she shook her head, gulping, "he just slammed the door loudly and seemed quite angry..."
"Oh," Rhea nodded her head even though she made an expression that told Evelyn she did not understand anything.
Evelyn pointed at herself, "I clean the entire floor 52 and I was hoping... To receive anything he might leave behind."
"Ahh," Rhea clicked her tongue, "I gotchu now."
Evelyn gave her tight smile. She did not understand anything.
