Chaos In The Darkness; Salvatores's Salvation-Chapter 159: Her Bella - III
The first thing to do for her was to make sure to give a good breakfast to her daughter.
Bella was a slightly fussy child if she received news about foods that she had never eaten. However, once she grew accustomed to it, Evelyn found her life to be relatively easy.
Today instead of getting her to try something new, she settled on something that her daughter liked.
It was scrambled eggs and a few pieces of apples that her daughter loved.
"Good morning, Mss Evelyn,"
She heard a doll-like voice quite animated, making her turn the flame to low and turn around.
There were two dinosaurs on the kitchen shelves.
One was Juli and the other, Mikey.
"Mss Evelyn," a little hand shook Mikey, imitating that he was the one, "who?"
Juli was shaken next. "She is a lovely woman and Arabella loves her so much!"
Evelyn chuckled. "And can any of you tell me where my daughter is?"
Both of them jumped in alarm and turned around to Evelyn. Their entire bodies were being shaken left and right imitating a no.
"We cannot tell you that!" Juli, the dinosaur stuffy, spoke, "she is hiding!"
Evelyn hummed loudly, "well I will come to find her and after that I will come to find her."
"One," Evelyn announced loudly as both of the dinosaur’s stuffies fell on the shelf and she had little padding of feet run away from her.
"And she better not run," she called out in a loud voice.
"Sowwy!" Bella whispered hurriedly and slowed down but continued to hide away.
Bella still had trouble in speaking her R’s but that was not something that made Evelyn worry just yet.
"Four," Evelyn called out lazily as she placed the food in the plates and covered them with another so that they would not cool down.
"Five!" And with that said she exited the kitchen.
The first place she went to was the bathroom where she called out loudly, "is my Bella in the bathroom?"
"Nooo!" Bella rolled out the word and Evelyn closed her eyes, laughing silently at her tactics.
"Alright then," she closed the door to the bathroom and walked to the bedroom. There was no wall dividing the bedroom from the kitchen as it was a small, very small studio apartment.
"Is my Bella hiding under the sheets?"
"No, no," the voice of a little baby chided her, "mummy you are getting bad at this game—Ah!" Bella shrieked when she felt her hands wrapped around her and lifted her into the air.
"You think you can tell me I am bad at this game?" Evelyn nuzzled into her daughter’s cheek as she whispered the words menacingly and her hands tickled the waist of the young girl.
"Mummy—" she giggled in hysteria in between the words, "pl-please sto-op!"
But Evelyn did not pay heed to the words. Once she noticed that the face of her daughter was turning bright red, immediately stopped and placed the child on a makeshift dining table.
It had two plastic chairs and a plastic table. However, her daughter sat in her lap because evelyne was unable to afford a high chair for kids.
"Thank you, mama." Arabella thanked her mother, just like she had been taught countless times.
"You’re welcome, bub," Evelyn placed a kiss on the top of her head.
All she ate was cereal because that was what she could afford for herself. It was flavorless cornflakes.
The bland flavor made her eat in a hurry and begin with her food so that she could watch her child eat.
Evelyn could never stop watching her daughter would, with her little hands that held the fork, step into the food and put it into her little mouth. This scene was something that she could watch countless of times yet always adore.
"Want?" Bella said when she found her mother was watching, she held out a forkful of Apple which was only one small bite and offered it to her mother.
Evelyn chuckled but ended up shaking her head. Her daughter needed every bit of the field and if she left any left worse than everyone would decide to eat them.
"You eat baby," she gently held the hand of her daughter and placed the fork in her mouth. "You need to eat and be strong strong!"
Arabella giggled to ensure that the food while facing her mother made her chuckle at the site. There was nothing that her daughter killed you and what made Evelyn look away.
"You make good food, mama." Bella took another forkful of the eggs and placed it in her mouth. "Love the food you cook!"
As much as that should have made her happy, it made Evelyn sad.
She placed a kiss on her daughter’s head, thanking her silently.
Evelyn could never have the luxury of making her daughter taste the food of fast food restaurants because she was not yet comfortable and she could not use the money on such things.
She sighed harshly. She either had to change her working hours or pick up a job that would pay her more than she was currently being paid because this was definitely not enough.
Bella would grow up soon and it was obvious that she would want to go out with friends and demand pocket money. Something that Evelyn would have to make sure that she will have by the time it is required.
"Done!" Bella shouted all of a sudden, making Evelyn jerk out of her thoughts. "I finished everything!"
The young mother felt a huge smile come to her face. "How wonderful, my baby."
She gave Bella a kiss on her chubby cheek before she patted the baby and got her off her lap allowing her to waddle into the apartment and in her playpen.
The first thing Evelyn did was wash the dishes. She could not afford a dishwasher so it had to be her to wash the dishes in awfully cold water.
While washing the dishes her eyes remained on her baby who was talking to her two dinosaurs.
Her Bella, her love.
Her strength.
