Chapter 95: Chapter 103: The Thought Alone is Terrifying

Originally, she thought James Black was a person with low emotional intelligence, but now it looked like, oh ho, there is always someone better.

Having sighed about that, Jane Sampson curled her lips and uttered a single word, "Envy."

Then, propping her chin in her hands, she stared fixedly at Rock Bell with a hee-hee smile, "Sister Tin, what if I..."

Rock Bell didn’t wait for Jane Sampson to finish speaking before she raised her hand to stop her, her fingertip lightly tapping on Jane’s forehead, saying, "Dream on."

"I haven’t even said what I want to say yet!" Jane Sampson muttered, covering her forehead.

"I don’t need to wait for you to say it; I already know what you’re going to say." Having been around Jane Sampson for no short amount of time, how could Rock Bell not know what she was thinking?

"You just want to say, if you can apply the trick Daniel Taylor and I used on you and James Black, right? I’ll tell you now, you wouldn’t even get the chance to try it," Rock Bell said with schadenfreude.

"I bet that the moment you show any signs, James will say, ’Let’s have the child first. Then, he’ll take you back to the team base and keep you there until your child is born and you’ve completed that task,’" she added.

Jane Sampson thought about it and felt that Rock Bell had a point.

After all, James Black was not Daniel Taylor; James was an old-fashioned man who probably considered having children as an inevitable life stage to complete.

"Just thinking about it is scary," Jane Sampson said, covering her head.

After getting off the express train, Jane Sampson parted ways with Rock Bell. Early the next morning, upon getting up, Jane Sampson checked her mobile phone for messages from the drama crew group, glanced over everyone discussing matters of little importance, and then drove to the Long Hall to buy some cakes. After picking up some fruits and snacks from the imported supermarket, she left the city district.

After his retirement, Grandpa Sampton along with Granny Sampton moved to live in the countryside hometown, presumably preferring the lifestyle there over the bustling great courtyard of the city.

The Sampton Family owned an ancient and charming courtyard in the countryside, a legacy passed down from their ancestors, with over a hundred years of history. Every beam and tile there was older than Jane Sampson herself.

Nowadays, this mansion had become a local area protected unit, but Grandpa Sampton and Granny Sampton still lived inside.

"Old Sir, old lady, miss has come to see you."

There was a middle-aged couple taking care of the elderly couple inside the house. As soon as Jane entered the courtyard, Aunt Green joyfully shouted into the house and then took the stuff from Jane’s hands with a smile, "From afar asking about Long Hall’s corn biscuits, truly fragrant. The old man just murmured yesterday that he wanted some; miss truly is the granddaughter of the Old Sir, bringing them early in the morning."

Hearing the noise outside, the two elders inside the house hurried to the door, peering out before they could clearly see the visitor, they were already fully embraced.

"Grandpa! Grandma! I’m here to see you, did you miss your little treasure Jane?" Jane Sampson plunged into the midst of the elderly couple just as she did when she was a child, hugging one with each arm, her head nuzzling against Grandpa Sampton’s shoulder one moment and against Granny Sampton’s the next. "Miss! Miss! How could we not? It’s only our baby Sophie who still remembers to come see us old bones in the countryside." Old Sir laughed, his face filling with wrinkles, then glanced at the stuff in Aunt Green’s hands before patting Jane’s head, "You still understand me." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Of course I do! When I was younger, it was grandpa and grandma who bought them for me. Now that I’ve grown up, of course, I should be the one buying them for you two elders!"
