CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 94 - 102: What Happened Later
Rock Bell slowly put down her mobile phone and, imitating Jane Sampson’s manner, looked back at her, "Are you wondering why I got divorced from Daniel Taylor?"
"Does Sister Tin have mind-reading powers?" Jane chuckled, "I am a bit curious."
"It’s not that I can read minds, it’s just that whatever you think, you write it on your face. You really need to change this about yourself. Otherwise, in this merciless circle, you’ll suffer," Rock Bell admonished her.
"When I put on an act, even I’m scared of myself. I’m just not being pretentious in front of you, Sister Tin." Jane spoke the truth. If she wanted to pretend, who could see through it?
Only, having pretended for too long, one would feel living was too tiring. Just like in her past life, she was not the real Jane Sampson, putting on and maintaining a facade. That’s why she thought about wanting a divorce, wanting to let go of the self that was constantly suppressed.
"Daniel Taylor and I got married in a hurry back then. Before and after our marriage, we were both busy people. He was either in City C or traveling around the world, and I was either in Capital Province or traveling around the world. Sometimes, we might not even see each other twice within half a year," Rock Bell said, sighing.
"Looking back, our decision to marry was just too hasty, a moment of passion under the guise of love."
"What happened later? It can’t be the clichéd story of separated places leading to Director Taylor having an affair?" Jane said before shaking her head, "No, that doesn’t sound right."
If one of the couple had an affair resulting in the divorce, how could they still get along so well after separating?
"An affair? You’ve been watching too many TV series! To exaggerate a bit, with his workaholic nature, I bet he wouldn’t even have time for an affair!" Rock Bell scoffed, "Both our families are in Capital Province. His parents would urge me to have a child every time they saw me, annoying me to no end. Later, when I saw him and complained a few times, he just bluntly suggested that we get a divorce. That way, his parents couldn’t bother me anymore. Then, when we both have more free time, we could remarry and have children then," she recounted.
After hearing this, Jane gaped, incredulous such a reason for divorce existed in the world.
"Sister Tin, you actually agreed?"
"Agree? Why wouldn’t I? Besides being annoyed that he suggested divorce so easily, I was really fed up with the life of being constantly chased by his parents to have kids. So, we just went ahead and got divorced," Rock Bell said with a smile, "That idiot probably still has no idea I was angry about him bringing up divorce, and probably doesn’t know that I never intended to remarry him. Right after we divorced, when he called me, he was so proud, asking if his solution wasn’t brilliant."
"Is it that men and women handle things so differently?" Jane wondered, "Director Taylor must definitely think of Sister Tin as his wife in his heart, believing he’s your husband and has just temporarily found a wonderful way to resolve a small family issue."
Based on the way Daniel Taylor treated Rock Bell in public, Jane had good reason to suspect this.
"He is simply too busy to remember, forgetting even our divorce certificate had been torn up!" Rock Bell said, getting heated just thinking about it. How all these six months, only she was here stewing in anger, while Daniel Taylor did not feel at all that divorce was a matter of grave importance.
Jane racked her brain, but could not find any elegant words to describe Director Taylor’s natural foolishness and bluntness.
