CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 349 - 357: Eat Once a Month
James Black didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he sat there, looking down at the spoon she handed to him with a somewhat disdainful expression. After thinking it over, he decided to hold his tongue to avoid saying anything that might upset her. Just as he opened his mouth about to take a bite, the hand suddenly retracted. "Sorry, I forgot you don’t like this stuff. I might as well eat it myself—save what I can," she reasoned. After all, who knew when they would get to go out and enjoy a meal like this again.
"Jane Sampson, I think you’ve gotten too bold," James Black said as he reached out and deftly redirected the ice cream Jane was about to put into her mouth into his own instead.
Watching Jane Sampson staring at the now empty spoon with a wronged expression, James Black let out a chuckle. Even so, she still dared to pretend and try to please him.
Jane Sampson hugged the ice cream to the side and then hopped off the chair, scooting over. Once she ran out of space to scoot, she stopped and covertly stole glances at him with those small eyes of hers.
"From now on, when the weather gets hot, I’ll take you to have ice cream once a month," James Black finally realized just how much Jane loved these treats. He wondered, half in jest, if she would ever be able to shake off these bad habits when she grew old.
"Whoever lies is a dog," Jane Sampson said, her eyes shining with mirth. She moved her chair back next to James Black, rested her little head on his shoulder, and giggled foolishly, "James Black, you’re really nice."
James Black had long since realized that Jane Sampson’s compliments weren’t worth much, but he didn’t expect them to be so cheap.
This was probably her only way of praising someone.
After leaving the shopping mall, the two found a dining hall near the cinema to eat, and because of Jane’s snail’s pace eating habits, James Black intentionally chose a movie showing that was pushed back half an hour from their original plan when he was booking the tickets online.
Jane Sampson always ate slowly, meticulously chewing and savoring her food. Whether it was at the Black Family or the Sampton Family, because there were seniors from a line of defenders, meals were usually eaten quickly. Yet, Jane Sampson was an exception in both clans; she was always the last one to finish her meal, unless someone deliberately accommodated her pace.
Surprisingly, Old Master Black, who used to dislike people for wasting time with slow eating, found Jane’s refined and elegant dining habits particularly pleasing, seeing her as a girl with good family education. As a result, even when sitting down to a meal with Old Master Black, he would slow down his eating to accommodate Jane.
This was why Aunt Black loved it when Jane came home to share a meal in Old Sir’s care. Having a weak stomach, Old Sir would only slow down and engage in leisurely conversation while eating with Jane.
Although James Black ate quickly, he had good patience when waiting for others.
By the time he set down his bowl and chopsticks, only one-third of the food in Jane’s bowl had disappeared. He then sat opposite her, serving her vegetables without needing her to speak; a single glance from her was enough for him to know what she wanted to eat and add it to her bowl.
The movie was chosen by James Black, and it was only after they were sitting in the cinema waiting for the movie to start that Jane Sampson found out it was a comedy. This surprised her.
"You like comedies?" Jane Sampson thought that James Black would prefer action films or sci-fi films.
"Don’t you like it?" James Black, having already taken his seat, directly responded to her sudden question, "If you don’t like it, we can just go out and find another movie to watch."
