CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 350 - 358: King Black
"No need, I love it, I was just worried you wouldn’t like it," Jane Sampson giggled and then sat up straight, holding the drinks and popcorn that James Black had bought for her.
Honestly, when Jane saw James walking into the screening room with those snacks, she almost couldn’t believe her eyes; it felt like an incredible illusion.
Hearing Jane say she liked it, James felt relieved. He had specifically texted Peter Gingery to ask before choosing, and knowing that Jane enjoyed comedies, he then picked a newly released one.
There were quite a few moviegoers in this screening, most of whom were little lovebirds. Jane glanced around for a while before focusing her attention on the movie. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
The movie didn’t score very high on the internet realm, but Jane thoroughly enjoyed it, laughing merrily throughout the entire one and a half hours.
As for James.
What the movie was about from start to finish, James couldn’t follow after the beginning part; he never really got into it again.
After Jane started laughing, James couldn’t help but sneak glances at her now and then. Although the movie theater was dimly lit, because they were sitting together, James could still clearly see Jane’s laughing face.
James thought that recently, Jane seemed to be smiling more frequently.
When she smiled, it wasn’t like before, with a faintly curved corner of the mouth, a standard smiling mask in motion. When she was truly happy, her smile was alive, her eyes sparkled like shimmering pools, sometimes even letting out an especially unrestrained laugh.
James thought that he could distinguish whether Jane was really laughing or just faking it simply by listening to her laughter.
To many, a movie where laughter was only occasional, but for her, with a low threshold for humor, a line or an actor’s expression could easily set her off into peals of laughter.
She loved shopping, loved watching movies; these things could make her especially happy.
Therefore, James thought, when time permitted, he should indeed take her out more for shopping and movies. To the him from before, these seemed like a waste of time, but actually, after doing them with Jane, James found it to be quite fun.
After the show ended, it was just nine o’clock, and the two of them didn’t go elsewhere but went straight home.
After a whole day of wild fun, Jane was completely spent when she got home. As soon as she entered the doorway, she collapsed on the sofa and didn’t want to move.
"Rest for a bit and then go wash up. Get some early rest; tomorrow morning we’ll go for a jog for half an hour, I’ll accompany you," James said as he put the big and small bags in the bedroom and, passing by Jane lying on the sofa, reminded her.
"I don’t want to go," Jane murmured a resentful protest with her head buried in the backrest, "It’s not you accompanying me, you’re clearly exploiting me."
"You have no right to refuse," James stood in the bedroom doorway, "I’ll wake you up at 5:30 tomorrow morning."
After saying that, James went back into the bedroom to get his clothes and went into the bath room.
Four words ran through Jane’s mind—Heaven wants me dead!
5:30 in the morning!
Jane painfully thought about banging her head against the wall while holding her head.
This is too bullying!
Unreasonable!
King Black!
Only after hearing the sound of the bathroom door closing in the bedroom did Jane stop the series of internal enraged roars in her head. She sat up from the sofa with a look of despair, struggling to think of any way she could escape the ordeal tomorrow.
