Chapter 242: Chapter 250: Is It Reluctance?

"Who’s flaunting their love?" Jane Sampson snatched Nina Rice’s mobile phone from her hand, casually swiped through it a few times, and then handed it back to Nina, muttering, "You know I’m really noisy, posting several Moments a day is pretty normal for me."

"Before, I hardly ever saw you post about James Black in your Moments for a whole year." Nina’s smile got craftier, "Jane Sampson, come on, tell me what’s in your heart. You don’t really want to divorce James Black, do you?"

"That’s not true. If James is willing to divorce, I definitely won’t have second thoughts," Jane answered quickly.

Seeing that Nina still had that expression on her face, Jane felt increasingly guilty.

If it wasn’t for Nina pointing it out, Jane wouldn’t have noticed that her Moments seemed to be taken over by that guy, James Black.

It was an inexplicable takeover.

Jane thought to herself that this couldn’t go on, she had to break the habit of ranting about James Black in her Moments from now on.

Nina looked at Jane meaningfully, not saying a word; the premise here was that James would be the one to initiate the divorce. But Nina didn’t think someone with James’s temperament, an old family patriarch and old cadre, would be the type to initiate a divorce.

Before, it wasn’t that Jane’s Moments were completely devoid of James Black-related posts throughout the year.

Once or twice, maybe three times over the course of a year.

It would be when James, on a whim, told her he was coming home on the weekend, and Jane would go crazy in her Moments, posting a new update.

People who weren’t familiar with Jane would see the post and think she was just having a moment of frustration.

Those who knew Jane, like Peter Gingery and Nina, could tell when James was going to come home just by that post.

"Stop talking about me. What about you?" Jane cleverly shifted the topic to Nina, "Last time I asked what you were planning to do after leaving the consulting firm, you didn’t go into details. It was just before I went out that I got a call from your mother and found out you were planning to open a hotpot chain store?"

Nina’s expression froze, and she looked somewhat displeased, "Why does she always have to do this!"

"I heard from Aunt that you’ve been having trouble finding investors?" Jane asked, "How’s the progress now?"

After speaking, Jane immediately slapped her card down on the tabletop from her purse, "You really don’t treat me like a friend, considering we’ve been such good sisters for so long. If you’re short on money, just tell me! You know I’m not short on money."

Nina was stunned by Jane’s generous gesture. She held her forehead, "My initial investment is quite hefty, and I want to do it all at once, make it big, make it good. I didn’t tell you because I knew you’d do this if I said anything, but I don’t want to lose your money."

"It’s okay, if it’s lost, it’s lost," Jane shook her head, not caring at all, "Besides, I trust your abilities. Ever since we were kids, whatever it is that Nina Rice wants to do, there’s nothing she can’t accomplish." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

Hearing Nina talk about hefty initial investments, Jane looked down at her card, "This is all my current liquid funds, the dividends from the Sampton Clan over the years, and the funds and annual dividends from financial investments left by my grandparents. I haven’t had much in terms of expenses before, and it should have accumulated to a good sum over the years. Take it for now, and if it’s still not enough, I’ll have my investment manager cash out all my financial investments and transfer them to you first."

"No, I can’t. Those were left to you by Grandpa Sampton and Granny Sampton, we can’t touch them," Nina quickly refused, looking seriously at Jane, her heart feeling touched.
