CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 239 - 247: An Insurmountable Obstacle
"Well," Jane laughed, though at first she had managed to hold back and feign confusion over his sudden decision to return to the guard team. But later, those three words, "doing great, thanks," were nearly mouthed with a grin.
When it came to ruffling feathers, there was no one in this world who could match Jane Sampson’s skill; James Black absolutely could not find her equal.
He watched the beauty whose face had turned into a blooming flower from laughter, lying on top of her without moving an inch, showing no intent of getting up whatsoever.
He just kept staring at the person beneath him.
After a long time, he said, "I’ll be back home on Friday night, take good care of yourself while I’m away."
"Okay," Jane nodded quickly, sensing that the man on top of her seemed about to get up, as if to leave. Jane was just about to add that he should drive safely on the road when, unexpectedly, instead of following the script, James Black leaned in and kissed her.
He wasn’t trying to get up and leave; he had merely shifted to adjust his position for the kiss.
He held her through the quilt, first savoring her lips gently, softly, with the tip of his tongue lightly sweeping over her lips, enveloping them. Only when her lips were fully filled with his taste did he delve deeper, hooking her tongue, and began to kiss her passionately, intensely.
Jane only felt that the room was eerily silent, so quiet that she could hear the sound of her heart racing, "thump-thump," just like on that night with acute high altitude disease in the small town, her heartbeat quickening as if it might fly out of her chest.
And yet, it felt somewhat different.
He gently lifted her chin with his fingertips, forcing her to meet his kiss more fully, bringing their lips even closer together.
Jane didn’t know how much time had passed, five minutes?
Or ten minutes?
It seemed so long that her world began to spin before he finally released her. The moment their lips parted, a few strands of silvery saliva lingered between them.
"Jane Sampson, where has your learning ability gone to?" James Black pressed gently on her flushed lips with his fingertips, a look of desire in his eyes.
Jane didn’t answer James Black. All her strength was used up in gasping for air.
She felt like she was going to suffocate just now.
But deep inside, she was already going crazy.
Learning ability?
Learning ability!
Was this joke never going to end? He kept bringing it up repeatedly!
It was so infuriating!
Had she shot herself in the foot with her own stone?
Why had she ever boasted about her learning ability in front of James Black?
From the way Jane’s chest heaved, James Black could tell she must be secretly cursing him, but he wasn’t upset.
He chuckled softly, touching the corner of her mouth with a gentle peck, "I’m heading back to the team now. Take a nap at lunchtime, and remember to make yourself some dinner in the evening."
The man who had mentioned returning to the guard team several times still hadn’t gotten up, kissing her, then raising his hand to touch her head, gently patting it.
After dallying for a few more minutes, James Black finally seemed willing to get up. He first went into the cloakroom to tidy up his clothes. After about ten seconds, he came out again, glanced at the person who had buried her face in the quilt, smiled at the corner of his mouth, and turned to leave the room.
Only when she heard the sound of the main gate locking did Jane kick off the quilt and ran barefoot toward the bathroom. Seeing in the mirror a face that was flushed and lips slightly swollen, Jane covered her face and ran out again.
