Chapter 1968: Chapter 1976: Special Messages

After speaking, the paparazzi sarcastically added to Joseph Shaw, "You rich people, I just can’t stand your self-righteous attitude. You look down on others. Pass a message to Elder Miss Carter from me. I wish her endless happiness every day."

Having said that, the paparazzi got up on their own, abruptly ending the conversation with Joseph Shaw, and turned away.

If it weren’t for the fact that a mere second ago the paparazzi was insinuating insults at him and Jillian Carter, Joseph Shaw might have really believed the smiling paparazzi saying he wished Jillian happiness was honestly doing so.

It was also because of this one sentence that Joseph Shaw realized that Jillian must have not only refused the paparazzi’s proposal of giving him a million to handle the photo but also sarcastically mocked him, which angered him into retaliating this way.

In this world, people who hold grudges are the hardest to deal with.

"Tell me who you sold the photo to, and I’ll help you get out of here." Joseph Shaw called after the paparazzi’s departing figure.

He was well aware of how easily Jillian Carter could offend people.

The paparazzi acted as if he hadn’t heard a thing, swaggering away as if this place wasn’t holding him captive but rather a hotel he was visiting.

When Joseph Shaw left the police station, a gloom hung over him.

Not being able to get a single piece of useful information from the paparazzi meant he had to spend more time and effort finding another way to trace the source of the leaked photos.

Furthermore, even if the source of the photos was found, there was no guarantee that evidence proving it was unrelated to Jillian Carter could be found.

Joseph Shaw thought, it seems he needed to have a backup plan too.

Joseph Shaw had no idea that his conversation with the paparazzi, word for word, had reached the ears of Rock Bell and also Jane Sampson.

After relaying this, Rock Bell said, "It seems this matter really is connected to Jillian Carter."

Just as Jane Sampson was about to speak, her mobile phone suddenly rang.

It was a call from Oscar Wilson.

Jane Sampson told Rock Bell she’d take the call and picked up her mobile phone.

As soon as the call connected, Oscar Wilson’s boisterous voice came through.

"Whoa! Little Jane, I’ve got some extremely explosive news for you! It’s something you absolutely wouldn’t have imagined!" Oscar Wilson’s voice was so loud it almost pierced through the mobile phone.

Even Rock Bell heard it clearly.

"What kind of news is worth being described with four ’extremely’s?" Jane Sampson’s curiosity was genuinely piqued by Oscar Wilson.

"Let me tell you! Jillian Carter is actually not the biological daughter of the Carter Family, but their foster daughter! Foster daughter! Oh my god, when I heard my parents say it just now, I was stunned, okay? It wasn’t just me, even my parents were shocked too!" Oscar Wilson shouted loudly.

Jane Sampson was truly taken aback by this.

The fact that Jillian Carter wasn’t the Carter family’s biological daughter got out?

"How did you guys find out about this news? Who did your parents hear it from?" Jane Sampson asked.

"This is the second piece of explosive news I wanted to tell you!" Oscar Wilson grinned widely, "It’s simply unbelievable, this news came from the Carters themselves. My parents said they heard it from Grandpa Carter and Grandma Carter, and Uncle Carter and Aunt Carter didn’t deny it!"

"Little Jane, do you know what this means for the Carter Family?" Oscar Wilson scorned Jane Sampson, tsk-tsking, "You’re so clueless, you definitely don’t get it. This means that the Carter family’s connections are no longer open to Jillian Carter, that the network, the connections, are no longer at her disposal."
