Chapter 1533: Chapter 1541: Just Invited

Quincy Forest had already been waiting for Jane Sampson in the studio. Timing it perfectly, she stood by the doorway, waiting for Jane to arrive. As soon as Jane got out of the car, Quincy ran over and gave her a big bear hug.

"Haven’t seen you in a few days—missed you so much!" Quincy linked arms with Jane and walked inside together. The studio employees, seeing Jane, greeted her enthusiastically.

Some of them were old acquaintances of Jane, and she smiled politely at them before following Quincy into Quincy’s designated makeup room.

After stepping inside, Jane uttered a surprised "Oh?" upon seeing the person seated inside.

"Oh, President Forest is here too?" Jane chuckled. "You slacked off during this morning’s meeting, and now you’re not even staying at the company in the afternoon?"

"Who knows what kind of whim he’s on. Earlier this noon, he suddenly showed up to take me out for lunch. After lunch, he didn’t go back to the company; instead, he took over my resting room and napped for the afternoon. Now he’s refusing to leave too." Quincy clicked her tongue and looked at him with mock disdain. "He said he’ll personally take you to the photography studio later since he’s too lazy to make another trip and figured it’d be better to just wait for you and go together."

Quincy pulled out a chair for Jane to sit and continued venting, "Look at him, acting so lazy. Couldn’t he just ask the driver to handle it? Who knew when the workaholic turned into such a slacker? His behavior is nothing like his usual style. If Alexander Forest did this sort of thing, it’d feel more normal."

"Everyone gets tired—it’s human. And everyone has moments when they just want to slack off," Kane Forest chimed in. He was sitting on the sofa nearby, holding a book, and offered this explanation casually.

Truthfully, the book in his hands was merely a prop he’d grabbed from the table to feign focus, since he rarely bothered with fashion magazines on typical days.

"Sure, sure, you’re the boss. Whatever you say is always right." Quincy spoke sarcastically but still secretly shot Jane a quick smirk. Then, out of the blue, she burst into laughter. "But if he could be lazy like this every day and come ask me out for lunch daily, I’d actually be pretty happy with that."

Kane pretended as though he hadn’t heard her.

"I took a look at your wardrobe. Let’s start with makeup and styling first, to avoid getting powder on the clothes." Quincy glanced at Jane’s outfit—it was chosen expertly. Jane had worn button-up clothes today instead of pullovers, which meant she could apply her makeup first without any issues when changing later.

With that, Quincy reached out to turn on the makeup mirror. Looking at Jane’s reflection, Quincy couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy. She touched Jane’s hand and exclaimed, "Look at this skin—it’s so soft and supple it feels like you could pinch water out of it. By the way, since I switched to makeup from D’s brand, if you come across any good replacements, you absolutely have to recommend them to me. I’ve thrown out a pile of D’s stuff from my place. See?" She pointed at her makeup table, where all of D’s cosmetics had been cleared out. "The entire studio doesn’t have a single piece from D’s anymore."

"Alright, it’s not like everything in the world has to be from D’s. Just wait till I find the time—I’ll compile a replacement list and post it on Twitter," Jane thought aloud with a warm smile. "Why don’t we go shopping after we’re done tonight? We can grab dinner first, and then hit the stores afterward."

Sitting on the sofa, Kane suddenly interjected, "Sounds good."

After he’d said it, he noticed the peculiar looks Jane and Quincy shot him. Clearing his throat softly, he explained, "I owe you both a meal from last time anyway. Perfect chance to treat you."
