CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 146 - 154: Disobedient Hmm
She had been standing just fine, but suddenly she was airborne, and Jane Sampson’s little heart nearly leapt out of her chest from the fright James Black gave her.
As she heard James Black’s words, she hurriedly did as he said, after all, she was quite worried he wouldn’t be able to hold her and would drop her onto the ground, just like she had accidently dropped his aftershave, perhaps to punish her for breaking his stuff by dropping her onto the glass shards.
Fortunately, James Black wasn’t so malicious. Once he confirmed that there were no glass shards on Jane’s feet, he carried her out of the bathroom.
Back in the bedroom, James walked straight to the bed and placed the woman in his arms, quietly watching him with a fearful expression, onto the bed. Then, without saying a word, he headed straight into the bathroom himself.
"I’ll go clean up the glass!" Jane quickly got down from the bed as soon as she saw James enter the bathroom, but his stern, slightly terrifying voice came from inside before she could move.
"Stay outside—don’t come in!"
The words from James froze Jane in place, her foot already in the air, and it took her a few slow, sluggish seconds to reluctantly pull it back.
The one who had done wrong sat guiltily on the bed, not even interested in playing with her pad anymore; holding her mobile phone, she silently posted a status on her Moments.
—Although I did something wrong, someone’s temper is really scary when they get angry. Pouting face.
After sending out the Moments post, Jane didn’t even feel like scrolling through her feed. She tossed her phone to the side and then swung her long legs as she sat on the edge of the bed, bored and idly fiddling with her fingers.
She waited aimlessly for at least five minutes, with no sign of James coming out, just the sound of water from the bathroom. Curiosity got the better of Jane and she quietly tiptoed towards the bathroom, then sneakily peeked in with half her head.
Unexpectedly, just as her head peeked in and her eyes had yet to clear, a hand covered her face and pushed her head back.
"Not following orders, huh?"
One "huh," the tone rising slightly, was full of threat.
But Jane heard in that "huh" that James’s mood actually wasn’t bad at all, as if, despite his temper, it didn’t affect his mood.
"I just wanted to see what you were doing," Jane said ingratiatingly with a giggle towards James.
"You can go in and take your bath now. Just remember, if you want to smell anything of mine again, hold it tightly," James pushed Jane back into the bathroom.
"I won’t take it, I won’t take it." Jane shook her head like a rattle drum, quickly agreeing and then skillfully locked the door with a clang.
It went without question, without needing to ask, that James had just been taking care of the aftershave she had broken in the bathroom. The slippers she had been wearing were right at the bathroom doorway, and the floor of the bathroom was wet—he had obviously swept and rinsed the floor, ensuring there were no glass fragments left before he was at ease allowing her to enter.
The scent of just-broken aftershave filled the entire bathroom, and even after such a long time hadn’t completely dissipated. Jane was much more cautious now and didn’t touch James’s things, obediently taking her bath.
After dawdling in the bathroom for nearly half an hour, Jane emerged fresh and cheerful. James was already in the bed, reading a book, and the mobile phone she had tossed aside onto the bed earlier was now picked up by him and placed on her side of the bedhead cabinet.
Despite having just complained about him in her Moments, Jane wasn’t worried that James might see it.
