Kane Forest hadn’t expected Jane Sampson to still have this kind of eloquence at this point.

"Alright then," Kane Forest accepted the chopsticks.

"Brother! Rest assured, if anything goes wrong, I’ll immediately call an ambulance!" Jasmine Seven said from the side.

When Kane Forest passed by Jasmine Seven, he raised his hand and flicked her forehead, "Looks like I gave you the New Year’s money too early."

As Kane Forest picked up the chopsticks, a few people next to him were staring at him wide-eyed. The moment he took a bite, everyone burst out laughing uncontrollably, even Peter Gingery and Nina Rice couldn’t hold back their mischievous grins.

Before Kane Forest could swallow, Oscar Wilson blurted out, "Mimi Wood isn’t part of the Forest clan. How’s the taste?"

Kane Forest’s expression shifted. He quickly turned his head, grabbed a piece of paper, spat out the food in his mouth, and tossed it into the trash can, barely managing to keep himself from looking grotesque with twelve points’ worth of restraint.

"An unsurprisingly disappointing flavor," Kane Forest said after taking a gulp of water, "Peter, Nina, I see the two of you did this on purpose!"

Even if it was burnt, it shouldn’t taste this bizarre. Sweet to the point of nausea, salty to the point of bitterness, and sour to the point of making one’s teeth ache. After speaking, Peter Gingery and Nina Rice slung their arms over each other’s shoulders and laughed heartily.

"I’m dying of laughter!" Peter Gingery gave Nina Rice a thumbs-up, "Your idea, genius!"

The burning part was an unexpected accident, but the flavor? Peter and Nina had already planned to prank someone. After all, the food was meant to be judged by others, and the creators weren’t supposed to try their own dish first. It was a prank right from the start.

The result of the burning mishap made Kane Forest the sole taste-tester, sparing everyone else except those two from the horror.

"Poor Brother Forest," Jasmine Seven said rhetorically. But her laughter was no quieter than anyone else’s.

None of them had much experience in the kitchen except for the ’hardly named’ group, whose dish turned out relatively decent but was still overly salty. The rest either had the same flaws of being too salty or bland, or their dishes were overcooked.

Kane Forest’s lone effort surprisingly stood out.

To keep things simple, he opted to make tea eggs.

A pot of water, a few eggs, a handful of tea leaves, and a pinch of salt—he threw them all in and cooked them until everyone had gathered before taking them out.

"Brother’s got a bit of a cheating vibe," Jasmine Seven muttered, "Little Jane’s favorite food is tea eggs. Just her scores alone could bump up his average."

"Oh right! How could I forget my Goddess Sampson loves tea eggs?" The ’hardly named’ group smacked his forehead in realization, "Ugh, missed my chance to win over my goddess."

"You don’t love me anymore, and yet you’re trying to impress me?" Jane Sampson snorted pridefully.

"I’ve just fallen back in love with you right now," the ’hardly named’ group replied naturally and effortlessly.

After the silliness and laughter, the group sat down to enjoy the culinary skills of Chef Jane together.

For lunch, they munched on dishes, sipped small wine and beverages, with laughter echoing continuously.

After eating, everyone divided up the tasks of washing dishes. As they were discussing plans to barbecue in the courtyard’s pavilion later that evening, Rachel Miller suddenly announced there was an urgent matter at home, and she had to catch a flight immediately.
