Chapter 1450: Chapter 1458: Respecting the Elderly

I thought that having a meal and a jolly good time with Goddess Sampton today, and getting a group photo with her would already make me incredibly happy. But it turns out that she really treats me as a friend.

"I swear, from now on, my love for Goddess Sampton will be unwavering until death." Hardly Named barely stopped himself from laughing out loud as he kept clicking away at the array of dishes on the table with his mobile phone. "I swear, I will become the latest object of jealousy across the entire internet realm."

"That won’t do, I have to make a vow too," Oscar Wilson squeezed through and after snapping photos of the dishes on the tabletop, even had Hardly Named take a group photo for him.

Right, the kind of group photo where he and Jane Sampson are sitting beside the dining table, capturing both people and the full spread of dishes.

Inside the kitchen, Nina Rice and Peter Gingery were almost at each other’s throats, while Quincy Forest laughed so hard on the side that she was about to burst into tears, "I don’t even need to see what my brother cooked to know that Peter Gingery and Nina Rice have definitely lost today!"

In the midst of the laughter and playfulness, everyone placed their own creations on the table, a long table; Jane Sampson’s ten dishes and two soups, along with the game’s few dishes, filled the whole table.

Due to the fear of taking too much time, everyone, including Jane Sampson, made some simple home-cooked dishes.

Just like Quincy Forest initially stated, the braised beef brisket that Peter Gingery and Quincy Forest made following an online cookbook was disastrously burnt and unsightly.

"Hurry up and remove this last-place dish, it’s simply an eyesore," Oscar Wilson said with distaste. Not to exaggerate, it was as unappetizing as a lump of shit.

"Don’t judge it by its appearance, it might taste really good!" Peter Gingery argued back defiantly, "We’re competing on taste, not appearance."

"Right! The taste must be really great!" Nina Rice chimed in agreement.

"Oh come on, you two might as well give it up," Quincy Forest was sitting there, nearly crying with laughter, "It’s so hideous that we can’t even muster the desire to appreciate its inner beauty."

"I lack the courage to try it," Hardly Named nodded in agreement.

Then, as if they had arranged it beforehand, several people handed their chopsticks to the two who had been silent the whole time, Rachel Miller and Kane Forest.

"Respect for the elderly is important, so the two of you should try it first," Oscar Wilson said with a grin showing his teeth.

"Loving the young is also a virtue," Kane Forest silently took a step back.

"Loving the young?" Quincy Forest scratched her head, "Who’s the youngest among us? Hardly Named?"

"Hey! I’ve got a doctorate, and even if I started school early, I’m surely not the youngest!" Hardly Named felt like he could jump to the heavens from irritation.

The next second, everyone’s gaze silently shifted to Jane Sampson, who had somehow managed to hide behind Peter Gingery without anyone noticing.

"Hehe, Goddess Sampton is even younger than me!" Hardly Named was on the verge of putting his hands on his hips and laughing loudly in schadenfreude, not bothering to hide it in the slightest.

"Am I no longer your beloved little Jane, whom you swear to love until death?" Jane Sampson stomped her foot, standing there.

Hardly Named shook his head: "Not anymore~ A woman’s heart is as unfathomable as the ocean depths, my love for you can be intermittent."

This is basically a case of ’if not you, then who belongs in hell,’ with that poop-like presentation, even buying ten pounds of courage wouldn’t be enough to stomach it.

"Look at you all being so picky. If later you find it delicious, none of you are allowed to have a second bite. Little Jane, come out already, how old are you still hiding behind me?" Peter Gingery pushed Jane Sampson forward.

"Are you seeking death?" Jane Sampson gave Peter Gingery a threatening look that promised vengeance, and then skipped over to Kane Forest with her chopsticks, bowed, and presented them.
