Dr. Martin was already waiting in his clinic and had prepared his tools when Henry arrived. He has been treating Henry since after the kidnapping incident. He was a young newly licensed doctor back then.
Henry was the one who chose him after they accidentally bumped into each other in the cafeteria while holding a food tray. Henry was so sorry for making a mess and soiling his lab coat that day.
Being a psychiatrist, he did his best to calm down a crying young Henry Welsh which later on led to a beautiful friendship.
And because he is young and just like an older brother, Henry felt comfortable talking to him and asked his uncle to choose Dr. Martin as his psychiatrist.
He is proud that Henry went a long way. He has improved a lot but only time can tell when can he be fully cured or overcome his condition.
"Let’s try a different approach today Henry. Your nightmares seem to be caused by stress since you are not craving to hurt someone or have s*x right?" Dr. Martin tried to confirm.
Henry was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) after his father died, trying to save him when he was kidnapped when he was 10 years old. To make it worse, his pregnant mother suffered depression at the same time and soon committed suicide before giving birth to his unborn sister.
Henry was the one who saw his dead mother and went into shock for a month, he was devastated. His PTSD worsens and after a year, Dr. Martin added borderline personality disorder (BPD) to his diagnosis.
His uncle, Trevor Welsh, and his family took him in and did everything they can to help the traumatized boy to function back in society. It took years before he was able to overcome his PTSD. He was a strong kid and was very obedient to Dr. Martin and his Uncle Trev.
Part of his treatment was engaging in sports. Mixed martial arts became his favorite until he mastered it and got bored. That was the time that he found out about his father’s conditions about his inheritance.
After his father got shot and lost consciousness in the woods while trying to run away from Henry’s kidnappers, he was found by his brother Trev together with the police, and was brought to a hospital.
He was able to regain consciousness for a week but then died afterward. He was able to make some changes to his last will and testament with the help of Trev and his lawyer.
The Senior Welsh made these conditions to make sure that Henry will not resort to revenge and will have a happy family life in the future, just like what he had.
In the last will and testament, Henry will get 30% of the company share as soon as he turns 18. 20% will be handled by his uncle who will have the last decision on what to do with it. The remaining 50% will be given to Henry as soon as he gets married and produce an heir.
However, if he fails to get married before he turns 30, that share will be auctioned to the public. Welsh Holdings Inc.’s net worth is billions up to date and Henry definitely wouldn’t want to lose that.
He loves power, and without money, he can’t have that. He was 17 when he saw the document and went ballistic. His feet led him to Bellory Cafe where his family used to go to unwind and spend time together.
He wanted to feel complete again, he felt betrayed and forced by that document. And he remembered Bellory Cafe as a place where he was happy with his family when he was young.
He sat where they always used to sit. The seat is at the corner of the coffee shop, by the window, overlooking the road outside. It was not a busy day that day. He saw a girl helping at the counter, she was not wearing a staff uniform but a school uniform instead, so he figured out that she must be the daughter of the owner since she was too young to be legally employed.
She was simple yet beautiful, always smiling at the customers. He was mesmerized the moment his eyes landed on her. He repeatedly went there to see her but never tried to talk to approach her not even once. He was already happy just observing from afar.
’She seems happy with her family. I don’t deserve someone like her. She will just become miserable with me, I might ruin her, and my life is a mess,’ that was the mantra that was in a loop that he created in his mind to stop himself from getting at least acquainted with Amy.
Though Henry believes that he was not worthy of her, he still continued going to Bellory for months before he turned 18. He was a teenager with raging hormones which were not helping him since his feelings for Amy were getting stronger and stronger.
He stopped coming to the cafe, he focused back on his martial arts, however, it did not help. As soon as he started working and earning from Welsh Holdings, he came up with paying women of his choice to be his girlfriends to release the frustration he is experiencing for not having Amy.
Even if he started to be sexually active, it didn’t satisfy him, he even tried having two women at the same time but nothing quelled his thirst and hunger for Amy.
The only good thing that resulted from him beating his sparring partners in MMA and having s*x with different women is that he eventually overcome his PTSD but his BPD remains on a controllable level.
But there was never a time that he forgets about the girl in Bellory. He sees her face in every woman that he f*cks, making his feelings for her grow more.
As long as he keeps on being sexually active, he can control the impulses that his condition entails. It was the idea of his Uncle and Dr. Martin to have those women sign a contract and have a medical examination first for security and safety.
Part of his symptoms is having impulses, and having unsafe s*x is part of it. The only reason why his uncle agreed to this is because of the will and testament.
If ever Henry produces an heir accidentally with those women then they can just pay that woman to have a marriage of convenience and sign a divorce once Henry’s heir is born and after he gets his inheritance.
If in case the accidental pregnancy did not happen, of course, Trev has a backup. For him, Henry is the son he never had. He was blessed with three daughters whom he loves very dearly. So when Henry became an orphan, he was more than happy to foster him. It was a dream come true to have a son like him.
He will not let Henry lose his inheritance. He will not let the hard-earned money of his brother go to someone else that’s supposed to be for his son.
They didn’t think that Henry will not be emotionally involved with any women when he and his brother made changes to the will. So he already prepared a plan in case he will not get married on his own before he turns 30.
Now that Henry is not having s*x anymore, well not completely as per his standards, he is starting to have nightmares again. He is also starting to become impulsive and having mood swings in the office which Rei and Anton tried to help him with.
Most of the time he is happy now because of Amy, but during meetings, sometimes he loses it. He was aware of that but he is not willing to force Amy to become his treatment. He will do everything that Dr. Martin will advise just to save her from himself.
He was lost in thoughts when Dr. Martin called back his attention.
"Henry? Are you with me?" He reiterated.
"Sorry doc, was just lost in thoughts, what were you saying again?" he has so much on his plate regarding Amy’s case and he kept on thinking about it.
"I said let’s try a different approach today since your nightmares seem to be caused by stress since you are not craving to hurt someone or have s*x," he repeated.
"I wouldn’t say craving doc, but there’s this someone that I really want to punch right now until he can no longer breathe. And it’s only one person... for now. But as for s*x, you know my answer to that," he answered.
Dr. Martin shook his head upon hearing the latter and muttered, "So near, yet so far."
"I heard that doc," Henry said smirking. He is already used to him, they’ve known each for a long time and he doesn’t mind his humor.
"Well, I wish you good luck with her since I strongly believe that she is your answer, this is from a friend’s point of view even if my doctor self does agree with giving you such an opinion. I just want you to be finally happy and overcome this," he freely speaks his mind.
"You are just tired of me doc that’s why you want to get rid of me," he commented jokingly.
"Ahh, yes, I agree. I am so fed up seeing your face here. The nurses and my other staff lose their minds whenever you visit," they both chuckled at his claim.
He then instructed Henry to lie down on the patient’s bed while taking out a box from the cabinet. "Let’s try using acupuncture to relax your mind to lessen the occurrence of your nightmares. We will do this weekly until you stop having them.
Then the rest of the week, you should do your exercise routines regularly. Do not miss any unless you and Amy will do some exercises of your own. I don’t want you over-exercising, it will also not help. You can only do one."
Henry blushed when he heard his doctor mention exercising with Amy. Knowing his doctor, of course, he understands that he is talking about exercises in bed with her and not normal ones.
Dr. Martin saw how red his face is and laughed out loud and Henry also followed. It is the first time that he saw him turn red due to something that he said and because of that, he felt that his patient and friend is very close to being cured.
He is starting to embrace positive emotions, he does not loathe himself anymore and it’s just a matter of time before he can declare him cured.
