CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 135: Small Civil Wedding
The soon-to-be husband and wife left the hotel early to go to the ranch and until now Amy has no idea where their civil wedding will take place.
The ranch is three hours away from where the hotel is and Amy kept on yawning on the way as she watch the scenery outside change from buildings to greenery. She was not able to sleep at all no matter how hard she tried to.
She was having mixed emotions about how fast everything is turning out. If there’s one thing that she accepted in her life after being with Henry, it would be that nothing is slow in their life.
Whenever Henry wanted something, he makes sure it is done right away. Sometimes Amy likes it and sometimes not, just like what she is feeling right now.
It would have been great if she was able to choose at least her wedding gown and bouquet. She noted to herself to make sure that she will be the one who will decide on everything for their church wedding to be fair to the bride.
While Henry was sleeping so soundly beside her last night, all she can think about is the wedding. She’s nervous, worried, scared, happy, and excited all at the same time and hungry too.
They haven’t even eaten breakfast yet, they quickly hop in the car as soon as they checked out of the hotel and Henry became busy with his phone as soon as they got in. She can only guess that he is talking to the people involved in the preparation of the venue. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
"I’m hungry," Amy can no longer endure the hunger she is feeling at the moment.
"Can you hold it until we get there?" Henry asked while still looking at his phone.
"I don’t even know where is ’there’," Amy rolled her eyes at Henry for her hunger and lack of sleep are already making her impatient.
Henry sensed the irritation in her voice, he put down his phone and looked at her, "Alright love, let’s eat first. Tony, please stop at the nearest store."
Amy looked outside the window as soon as Henry instructed Tony, but Henry held her chin and turned her face gently towards him, "Are you feeling alright love?"
Amy sighed deeply before she answered, "I’m just hungry and sleepy, don’t mind me."
Henry pulled her closer and hugged her, he rested his chin on her shoulder and whispered, "I won’t take it against you if you are having second thoughts. If you don’t want to get married tomorrow, then we don’t have to."
Amy removed his hand from her waist as she faced him. She put both her hands on his cheeks and gave him a quick peck on the lips.
"I’m just sleepy, hungry, and nervous, but I won’t back out. I will marry you no matter what. Even if I didn’t get to choose anything for this wedding."
Henry smirked, "So this is all because of that, I should’ve figured it out earlier."
"What are you talking about?" Amy raised her brow, she was trying to hide her irritation, telling herself that it was ok with her that she did nothing for this wedding, but then her true feelings seems to reach Henry.
Even though it was just a civil wedding according to Henry, she’s still a woman who at least once in her life had dreamt of planning her own wedding. She knows that there will still be the church wedding where everyone they know will be invited but still she just can’t help herself from feeling a little vexed.
"You hated the idea that I did everything by myself. That you didn’t get to decide on anything. Am I right?"
"Just don’t mind me. My mood will change once I’m full," Amy said.
"Amy, I promise whatever I chose and decided on, you will surely love it. I have my sources too you know."
Amy scoffed as she smirked, she will let it go this time since she knows that Henry is doing this for her. It’s not a big deal since she is willing to marry him anywhere and anytime. As long as they are together, then she wouldn’t ask for more.
Not long after, Tony drove the car through a big iron-arched gateway. Amy was amazed at how perfectly aligned the trees are along the way, a picture-perfect background for a pre-nuptial photoshoot.
"Anton’s parents owned this place," she heard Henry say but she did not look at him for she was busy checking the place out.
It was a long drive from the gate going to the reception building and the closer they get, the more people, cars, and trucks she saw.
People are walking and running back and forth with different things in their hands. She saw chairs, linens, flowers, lights, dish ingredients, and many more.
She then realized that those are for a wedding event, their wedding. Her eyes slowly become bigger as she slowly looked at Henry.
"This. Is. Not. A. Small. Civil. Wedding." She said it so slowly with emphasis on each word.
Henry just smiled and shrugged at her and did not say a single word before he opens the door of the car when they stopped.
"Are you out of your mind? It is just a civil wedding, why are there too many people setting up the venue?" Amy exclaimed after Henry opened her door for her like a gentleman.
"I know, that’s why there are only 30 people who are invited. Just the ones close to us. But promise love, at our church wedding you can invite everyone you know, as many as you want. I’ll let you decide on everything. Just don’t make me do crazy things alright?"
Amy laughed at the last part, looks like their skydiving really made a mark in Henry’s memory.
Both of them got startled by the sudden bawl behind them, "Mr. Welsh!" It was Nora the wedding planner.
"I am so happy to see you, Ms. Bell, I am Nora and I am your wedding planner," she suddenly made a cheek-to-cheek kiss to Amy before she could even greet her back.
"From this point on, you two should never see each other anymore. Alright, people, take these two away," Nora’s staff quickly pulled Amy and Henry away from each other as they escort them to their respective rooms.
