CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 102: Childish

It was lunchtime already but the girls and Theo still have to look at some materials for the final details of the shop’s design. Amy called Henry but it was Toby who answered and told her that Henry was in a meeting and couldn’t have lunch with her.

’Why does it feel like he is avoiding me?’ Amy thought to herself.

So the three ate lunch by themselves and spent the whole afternoon till evening finalizing the designs and layout of each shop and kiosk.

It was already dinner time when Amy arrive at Henry’s mansion. She looked for him as soon as she arrived but Charles informed her that he still hasn’t arrived.

She was so tired from all the things she did the whole day that she decided to have her dinner in the library as she arrange her schedule and tasks.

From the looks of it, her week will be very busy including weekends since she still needs to check the farm.

"Looking for me?" Ava went to the library as soon as Demi informed her that Amy is looking for her.

"Ava, I need your help. Can you reschedule my meeting with Ash? I will be very this week and I’m afraid I can’t spare a few hours to see him.

I don’t even know if I will be able to finish everything that I need to attend to this week," Amy sigh as she looks at the schedule that she arranged.

"Ok, I will. Do you need help? Mitch and I can help you, you just have to ask, and don’t be shy," Ava offered with a wink.

"Are you sure about that? I mean you are already my bodyguard and this will be another task on top of your job. I can pay you more but wouldn’t it be too much to handle?" Amy had actually thought of it before.

After seeing how the two girls work when they helped her do the business proposal back at the business expo. She thought that the two definitely had potential but it was too bad they are already employed by Henry as her security detail.

"Yes, Mitch and I were actually talking about it earlier and it is as if we are doing something when you are at work unlike before. If you will stay in your office the whole day then we will just sit, stand or roam around your office the whole day too.

We will die of boredom, Amy. I say hire us as your secretary and personal assistant while we make sure you are secured as well. What do you say?" Ava really hopes that Amy will agree to her suggestion since it’s really not her thing to do nothing the whole day.

"Alright I will talk about it with Henry so you two can start right away. I really need help in organizing things or I might not be able to finish anything at all," Amy felt like a huge boulder was lifted from her back, now that she will get help from the people that she trusts.

She just hopes that Henry will agree to her suggestion so she doesn’t have to look for another person to hire.

The next day came with no Henry in sight. According to Demi and Charles, Henry didn’t go home and it appears that he stayed in the office without telling her.

Amy wasted no time in going to work so she can see for herself what Henry was up to.

She was surprised to see him already working on his desk as soon as she arrived. He looked at her when she entered his office but didn’t say a word and went back to whatever he was doing instead.

His action made Amy raise one of her eyebrows, and she suddenly felt vexed at how he is acting for the past two days. She closed the door with a bang that made Henry look at her again.

"Are you avoiding me?" She snapped at him.

"And why should I avoid you?" He asks back as he put both his elbows on his desk.

"I don’t know you tell me."

"I don’t know what you are talking about," Henry said before he shifted back his gaze to the documents that he was working on earlier.

Amy can feel it, he is still upset because she refused him but she will not blurt it out. She wanted him to be the one to say it out loud what was making him upset.

"Then why you didn’t go home last night?"

"As you can see I have a lot of work to do. I told you, this is the reason why I have a room here because I am always busy," Henry answered without looking at her.

Amy clenched her fist, she doesn’t want to waste her time arguing anymore. She still has pressing matters to attend to and she still needs to ask him about hiring Mitch and Ava as her secretary and assistant.

"I came here to ask you if it’s ok to hire Mitch and Ava, my secretary and assistant. You have seen their resume before and we both know they are qualified. I will pay them extra on top of what you are paying them as my security," Amy said without pausing.

"Do what you want. I’m ok with it," Henry casually said. 𝐟𝗿𝐞𝚎𝚠𝐞𝚋𝕟𝐨𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝕔𝕠𝚖

Amy did not reply anymore but instead walk to the connecting door going to her office.

She halt when she saw the glass door and window dividing her and Henry’s office is no longer opaque. They now can see each other from their respective offices.

She doesn’t know if she’ll be happy that she can see Henry from her desk or if she’ll be uncomfortable knowing that Henry can see her every move.

But she didn’t comment on it, she continued walking to her office instead.

’Do what I want huh? You bet I will!’ Amy grumbled internally.

After putting her bag on her desk, she took her phone and went out of her office. She was pissed off by how childish Henry is acting. She doesn’t want to see him right now since the opaque glass is gone.

Unknown to her Henry was watching her all this time from the moment she went out of his office with a smirk.

Mitch and Ava were already waiting for her in the hallway and she was happy to announce to them the good news that from that moment, they will be working for her.

Mitch will be her secretary and Ava will be her personal assistant. And all they have to do now is get themselves settled and perhaps help their boss cool down.
