CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 101: Relapse

It’s a new day and Amy is excited to go to work. This is the first time that she will be working in an office the whole day.

When she was a writer, she was not required to work inside the publishing office and always write in the Bellory cafe, parks, or anywhere that her heart desired on that day for inspiration.

But now that she has her own office, she doesn’t need to think of where to go daily.

Amy wore black slacks and a jacket with a light pink shirt. She then matched it with white shoes and a white shoulder bag. She kept her hair in a ponytail knowing that it will be a busy day. And the last thing she wants is to have to worry about her hair going all over her face.

Henry woke up earlier than her and was no longer in their room when she open her eyes. Demi told her that the master of the house haven’t left yet and is still in his home office. So Amy went to see him as soon as she was finished.

The door was slightly open when she got there and decided to take a peek first before going in. Henry was nowhere in sight but she saw the open balcony door.

"Henry?" Amy called out but still, he was not there.

She checked other places only to find him with Rei in the gym. She still did not make her presence known, she just took a peek from the door to see if it was the best time to see him. For he might still be upset and still doesn’t want to talk to her.

"Damn Henry, can we stop already? I am tired, why don’t you run on the treadmill if you still want to burn some energy," Amy saw Rei lying on the gym’s floor while complaining and Henry was standing just near Rei looking down at him.

"Get up, you are getting weak Rei. That’s why you need to train more," Henry was sweating but not panting, unlike Rei who was breathing hard on the floor.

"You are just angry, you didn’t get what you want yesterday," Rei exclaimed.

"Great... That f*cker told you already? What else did he tell you?" Henry was referring to Anton and he grumbled as he threw the water bottle that he was holding into the trash bin in the corner of the room.

"He told me to upgrade the security system of your office, to add a voice-activated automatic lock," Rei then stood up to get his towel from the nearby bench.

Then he added, "Why are you so angry? Don’t tell me you’re having a relapse?"

The two started walking towards the door and Amy who was still listening to their conversation storm out of there and made her way to the dining room.

’Relapse? What does Rei mean?’ Then she remembered her conversation with Dr. Martin about Henry’s borderline personality disorder. ’So maybe that’s the reason why he is still not talking to me,’ she thought.

"I am not sure Rei, but I don’t think that’s it. I’m just really annoyed yesterday. And yes proceed with that security update. Thanks for letting me lash out at you," Henry said as he pats Rei’s back.

Amy and Mary were already having breakfast when Rei and Henry arrived in the dining room. The atmosphere was awkward, no one was talking and everybody was just minding their own business until Mary decided to break the silence.

"Amy, I will be doing site inspection and materials picking later with Theo, do you want to come?"

Amy glanced at Henry who was pretending to be busy eating breakfast and not listening to them, "Sure, I would love that. So far I have only seen one site, and I am excited to see the rest."

She then faced Henry, "Is it ok if I ride with Mary and my team today? I also need to talk to Ava and Mitch later about going to the bookstore and my publisher for some errands."

"Do what you want," Henry said without looking at her. He then wiped his lips with a tissue before he stood up and went out of the room.

"Don’t worry Amy, he will get over it. I’ll spar with him again tonight, he will feel better after that," Rei assured her before following Henry.

"Aw, Henry took it to the heart, babe. You should do something for him," Mary uttered before she finish her coffee.

Amy just sighed, she can’t believe that Henry is really behaving this way over something so trivial.

Mary and Amy spent their morning traveling around the city checking each of the sites that Bellory’s branches will soon occupy.

"Mary, I haven’t thanked you for all your hard work for Bellory. All the sites that you have chosen are amazing. As early as now I can say that I am sure all the branches will become a success," Amy praised her best friend for indeed they got the best spots in the city to put a coffee shop.

Mary took charge of everything that was needed to start the expansion when Amy was in Brookegrove with Jayson. And of course, she did not disappoint Amy.

All the decision that she made was perfect for she also knows what would Amy want if she get to decide for herself. She just knows her best friend that well.

"You are welcome babe, I wouldn’t have done it anyways without Anton’s guidance and Henry’s influence. Did you know that some of the sites were already reserved but then I don’t know what magic Welsh Holdings did, the place just suddenly became available.

Your boyfriend either must have kicked them out, paid them, or they just simply got scared of him. You are one lucky girl," Mary jested.

"I will go with the last one," they both laugh at themselves.

Meanwhile back in Welsh Holdings, Inc. building, Henry drowned himself in a lot of paper works and meetings, trying to forget Amy just for the day.

He was grumpy and easily gets irritated with everything and everyone. He was not able to sleep well last night. After Amy washed up, he can smell the lavender scent of her soap on her skin.

He wanted to make love with her but she doze off as soon as her back hit the bed. Henry spent the night watching her sleep, she looked tired so Henry tried his best to not touch her so she can rest.

He was able to sleep for a bit but then Amy haunted him in his dreams. He can’t forget how she looks sitting on his desk with a flushed face and parted lips.

Her voice echoed in his ears over and over again. ’Love put it inside me now, I can’t wait any longer, please...’

’F*ckkkkk!!! I can’t sleep!!!’ Henry screamed in his mind until he decided to burn out all that energy in the gym, where Rei found him.

Anton knocked this time before entering Henry’s office, "What’s up? Are you busy?" pulling Henry back to reality.

"I am always busy. What do you want?" Henry bleated without looking at Anton.

"Still mad I see..." Anton took the liberty of pouring himself a cup of coffee before sitting on the sofa.

"If you are here just to mock me, go away, I’m not in the mood," still haven’t spared him a look and continued signing the documents in front of him.

"That I can see..." Anton took a sip from his coffee. "Have you decided to tell Amy about her land?"

This time he got Henry’s attention, "Not yet. I plan to tell her soon."

"And when is that? Time is running out. Soon the loan will gain more interest," Anton reiterated.

"She’s got so much on her plate right now. As soon as I see that she settled in with her new role, I will let her know."

"And what if she doesn’t accept your proposal?"

"Then I’ll have to kill Ash, simple."

"That’s too much, man."

"Well you’ve asked for it and with the mood that I am having right now, that’s my only answer. So do you have more questions?"

"Ok, ok, I’ll leave you alone. But I want to remind you that both of you are running out of time. You’ll be twenty-nine soon, then you’ll only have one year left.

"Don’t let all your efforts go to waste," Henry rolled his eyes at Anton’s nagging and gave him one last look before Anton went out of his office.
