Chapter 205: Chapter 205: More Legal Matter

Evelynn opened the door. Outside were two security guards of the building. Each had a gun in their holsters.

"Hi there? How can I help you?" Evelynn said.

"Hello, Miss Mollison. We noticed that a few strangers arrived on this floor. We would like to make sure that everything’s okay."

"Everything’s fine." Evelynn opened the door wider, revealing Selina and Aurora sitting on the couch. "It’s just a few of my friends."

"Understood. Sorry for disturbing you Miss Mollison." The guard tipped his hat then walked away with his colleague.

"This place has excellent security, eh?" The black cat meowed.

"It is a penthouse after all." Selina said.

Evelynn closed the door and Crow revealed himself again. He temporarily went invisible to not make himself present for the guards.

"How was she able to afford such a thing? This penthouse must be at least a couple of millions credits." Crow said.

"I assume it’s because of a guy." Aurora picked up Jean’s phone. There was a picture of her and some old guy.

"She’s going out of her way to depict Evelynn as a gold digger while she’s one herself. How hypocritical." Selina said.

"Well, then. We should be going now." The black cat stood up and stretched.

They left the penthouse and Evelynn. Evelynn needed to get used to her new life. Mater taught her how to infiltrate electronic devices with Chaos. He told her to get her information about Jean there and started to learn about her life.

Crow tagged along with the group. He didn’t have any mission as Assassin yet so there was nothing else to do.

The group drove to Justin Mei’s office.

The criminal lawyer was reviewing Selina’s case file when they arrived.

"So? Do we have a case or not?" Selina said.

"There’s definitely a case here. But I want to verify something with you. Usually with these defamation cases against big publishers, those similar to the AS Journal, they would like to settle out of court.

We can get quite a hefty sum for it. But if we do that, they won’t issue further apologies.

Or we can take this to the Supernatural Court and demand an official apology to be printed. This path won’t provide a lot of compensation though."

Justin Mei explained the situation thoroughly.

"I don’t care about money. I only want their apology." Selina said.

"Understood! I’ll file the case and will notify you when there is a court date. We will need a few witnesses to help with our cause."

"There are a few. Loretta Engleman and Rebecca Martinez can bear witness. The commander at the time, Detective Chase Flintstone can also vouch for me. There are also a few other Psychics there like Mitch and his men."

"That’s more than enough. You just need to give me the name and their contact details. I’ll arrange it with them." Justin was more than professional. He had everything in place to go forward with the case.

"Now there is something else we need your help with." The black cat’s deep voice echoed. "Do you know how to resurrect a dead person?"

"Huh?"

Mater explained to Justin about Aurora’s case. The lawyer listened carefully and noted everything down in his note pad.

"I’ll see. You want to resurrect her legally. The process is extremely complex. But if you have her on your side, it should be no problem. I can handle it for you.

However, you’re right about suspecting some kind of foul play here. There is definitely something we don’t know.

Have you tried talking with the girl’s parents yet?"

"We haven’t."

"I suggest you should. There are many reasons that her family may have filed for a death certificate. Insurance money is one of them. If that’s the case, trying to resurrect her will lead to a fraud case."

The black cat stroked its whiskers in deep thought.

Mater nodded. "Add that to the list, Selina."

"Already did, Mr. Mater." Selina put them on their to-do list on her phone.

"There’s something else. Ben from the Luciente Family reached out to me previously." Justin said.

"They want trouble?" The black cat’s deep voice echoed.

"Nope. They actually want some help. The Luciente Family is in deep conflict with the Selomo Family. They want our help. And I already told them that I’ll ask you."

"Very well. I’ll let Crow visit Tommy later to discuss this."

The short trip to the lawyer concluded. The group then went to the AE Forges to reconstruct Bash.

They went inside the forge studio and closed the door.

Mater let Bash out of the Dark Grimoire and put him inside the Infernal Shrine. The Shrine stopped him from disappearing but he was certainly dead. It would need more than a Shrine to resurrect him.

Mater spat out a Soul Sphere. This sphere consisted of the souls of the Red Keepers they encountered awhile ago in the house with the Rat King presented.

The black cat threw the sphere inside the Infernal Shrine. Its energy went inside Bash but it wasn’t enough to wake him.

"As I suspected, it’s not easy to resurrect him." The black cat meowed.

"What should we do?" Selina said.

"We need a larger energy discharge. A few Rank-1 Souls wouldn’t cut it. I need to prepare Chaos Singularity to reconstruct him into a Rank-2 Demon." The black cat stroked its whiskers. "For now, it’s better to let him stay inside the Shrine. The Shrine would keep his body whole until we have enough Singularities."

The black cat spat out the Golden Feather Staff and the Collector Sphere.

The Collector Sphere was an item Mater discovered beneath the Lambkins Mansion with the power of gathering and collecting Chaos.

The Golden Staff was what the Von Schattenbergs intended to make while leaching off the Holy Fire of the Ascendant.

"The Golden Staff is a Chaos Artifact. But it uses the power of Fate. Celestial power. The Sphere is also related to Gods because of those figures on the altar.

What kind of item should I make?"

The black cat stroked its whiskers.

"Why don’t you make something like a spell-casting staff, Mr. Mater? I always see wizards in the movie use a staff to cast their spell." Selina said.

The black cat’s pupils expanded gently.

"Not a bad idea. Magical Conduits are an actual artifact type. It can help with spell-casting and power. Some can even carry spells on their own.

I wonder..."
