Chapter 198: Chapter 198: Forever Hill

Mater spent a few more days inside the hospital. He had already healed back to full after the first day but to avoid further suspicion, he stayed more.

The food was also extremely delicious so Mater had no problems staying.

When they were discharging Mater, Selina used the opportunity to ask them.

"My cat really likes the prescription food. Can I know where you get it?" Selina said.

The doctor smiled gently, "Certainly. Impawrial Feline Diet sells them. But I have to warn you. Cats need a special diet to keep their body healthy.

The prescription food can taste very good for them but if your cat gets hooked on it, it might affect the cat’s health negatively."

"I understand, Doctor. I will watch him carefully."

Mater was smiling blissfully in Selina’s arm, "More food!"

Obviously, he didn’t need to eat so he only needed them for recreational purposes. And Mater thought that the Doctor didn’t need to worry. He might be a cat. But he was a cat with standard. Ain’t no way that he would let himself go and became a fat cat.

There was nothing more shameful than being a fat cat.

The pair left the hospital right after. The Union had already sent Selina’s motorbike to the hospital for her.

They were even kind enough to send it to a motorcycle shop and give it a proper makeover.

Selina wiped her finger onto the new paint of the bike.

"Good as new. They really didn’t need to do that." She mumbled.

"You just solved two of the biggest Bronze Rank Bounties in Aeliz. If they didn’t do anything for you, they’re a fool." The black cat shrugged and jumped on the motorcycle.

"Where should we go now?" Selina said.

"There are a few things we need to do. Your semester is coming up so we need to buy the proper equipment for you. We need to deal with Aurora’s issues as well, both legally and non-legally. I need to reconstruct Bash. The servants need to reach Rank-2..."

The black cat stroked its whiskers and thought about all the things it needed to do.

"But there is something we need to do first before all of that."

"What?" Selina titled her head slightly.

The goth girl got on the motorcycle and put the black cat in her shirt. They drove away from the place.

In the shadow of the alleyway, John Shaw stepped forward and watched the pair of the owner and the cat left.

"Selina Isles. You’re growing too fast for my liking." John’s eyes glowed red. "Don’t think it will be that easy to get your diploma in the Institute."

Suddenly, John felt a hand behind him. He turned back and slapped Assassin’s hands away. His eyes shot out a pair of lasers.

Assassin simply titled his head to avoid the lasers.

"Assassin?!" John widened his eyes. But then he frowned.

His eyes turned gray as he scanned Assassin from top to bottom. John could see the man inside the suit and even his organs.

"It really is you. Where have you been the last few days?" John said.

Assassin was Crow in disguise. He had spent the last few days inside the hospital to learn about Assassin’s antics and general information that the Atlas Seven should know.

Crow swirled his hands and communicated with John using sign language.

He was saying, ’When I went to the Factory, the place was already blown up. I suspect that the girl has something to do with it.’

John actually knew sign language as well, he communicated with Crow both by his voice and his hands.

"Did you find anything about the girl?" John said and his hands used sign language.

Crow nodded and signed back, ’Nothing. From what I eavesdropped, the girl never even went inside the hidden maze. It isn’t her.’

John frowned. He walked back and forth, trying to process everything.

"Good work, Assassin. You can return to headquarters. I will report the mission to the Von Schattenbergs."

Crow nodded and disappeared. He couldn’t use the Dampening Field like Assassin but his own invisible ability was very similar to him.

Crow’s little lie had completely put Selina out of the scope of the Von Schattenbergs, allowing Selina and Mater to stay in the dark longer.

At the same time, Selina drove the motorcycle to the Forever Hill cemetery. It was a different cemetery to the one that Crow stayed in.

This cemetery was located in the luxurious district of Aeliz. Usually people needed to show identification to go inside. But when the security guard saw Selina, he didn’t even question and just opened the gate.

Selina was a pretty girl and she had the aura to be mistaken for a celebrity. This cemetery was exclusive for celebrities and rich people. The security guard took one look at Selina and thought she was one of them.

"Hi there! I haven’t seen you before. Are you a singer?" The security guard said.

"Yeah, something like that." Selina didn’t correct him.

She drove inside the cemetery and met the caretaker of the place. She quickly gained the information of the grave Mater wanted.

"That is much easier than I thought." Selina said.

"Another perk for being pretty." The black cat meowed.

They arrived in front of a fresh new grave. This grave wasn’t even one year old. There were many beautiful bouquets around the grave.

"Woah. This woman surely is popular."

"She is Evelynn Monroe after all."

Evelynn Monroe. The beautiful singer with a baby face and a killer body. She had been the most famous pop-singer in the last few years. She used to sing a more diverse range of songs but she switched to pop exclusively since she became famous.

Mater opened his mouth and spat out the Dark Grimoire.

The leathery book flipped itself to the section of the imprisoned beings. It stopped at the page where there was a painting of an egg.

"The Half-Dead Wraith Embryo. The soul inside belonged to Evelynn Monroe." The black cat meowed.

"Woah! How did you find out it was her?" Selina said.

"Not hard to be honest. By using the ACPD system, I can quickly find a few candidates that match the wraith inside. Then I narrow it down by simply comparing the date of their death with the age of the embryo."

"You’re a detective cat!"

Mater swiped the fur above his head. "Indeed I am!"

"But jokes aside. Let’s return the soul to its body so it can move on."
