CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 178: Room Change
The black cat opened his mouth and swallowed the candle whole. It was a fragile artifact but it was still an artifact. Mater kept it in case it became useful later on.
"Master. There is someone that can help us locate the lady."
"Oh? Where are you right now?"
With Crow’s ability to fly, he was able to map out the area pretty quickly. It was still a very vast pocket dimension but at least because of Crow, Mater wouldn’t be lost.
The black cat followed Crow’s instructions and quickly found him.
He was standing with a short black hair high school girl. She even had a backpack on her.
"Why is there a student here?" The black cat’s deep voice.
"Eek! The cat can talk!" The high school girl jumped back.
"Don’t worry. He’s with me." Crow said.
The high school girl nodded. She still seemed suspicious of Mater but she trusted Crow.
"This is Mandy Hernandez. She’s a young Psychic with the ability Possession Obsession." Crow said.
"The what now?" The black cat blinked a few times.
Crow nudged Mandy forward, "Tell him."
The girl shrank her head a little and avoided looking at Mater, "Possession Obsession is a Psychic Skill that allows me to find a person if you have anything that she used to wear."
"Got just the thing for you!" Mater opened his mouth and spat out the Abyssal Helmet.
The helmet fell on Mandy’s hands.
"Huh... This is..." Mandy mumbled.
Her eyes widened slowly as she heard whispers creeping onto her ears.
"Wear me... Become me... Wear me..."
Mandy’s hands raised as they trembled uncontrollably. She moved the helmet closer to her head to wear it. Dark smoke leaked out from within the helmet.
The black cat flew closer and slapped at the back of the helmet.
"Turn off your radio!"
"Sorry, Master!"
All the dark smoke retreated. The Helmet was part Abomination, part Phantom, and part Wraith. The Phantom part of it exuded out mental waves that affected anyone it came into contact with.
"What just happened?!" Mandy dropped the Helmet and got as far as she could from it. "That thing is evil!"
Mater took a deep breath. Then he raised his paw pointing at the helmet like a father scolding a child.
"Go apologize!"
The Helmet bounced over to Mandy, the whispers came over me.
"Sorry..."
The girl grabbed her head and fell to the floor. Her entire body convulsed uncontrollably.
Crow sweated profusely, "Maybe don’t let the Helmet talk to mortals again."
"That’s... Probably a good idea." The cat covered his face.
Crow placed his hand on the girl’s head, his Chaos flooded inside the girl’s brain and picked out the frequency the Phantom left behind.
For a mental-focused supernatural pathway, the mind was both the strength and the weakness of a Psychic.
Mady quickly regained her consciousness. This time she didn’t say anything and just ran away.
Crow grabbed her shirt collar and lifted her up. Her feet dangling in the air.
"Please don’t eat my organs!" The girl cried.
Mater slapped the helmet again, "See what you did?"
The helmet let out a soft ringing noise but didn’t say anything.
Crow placed her down gently. He knelt down on one knee.
"Relax, Mandy. He didn’t mean to do it."
But Mandy was already terrified and couldn’t listen to anything.
Crow opened his palm and summoned a beautiful purple rose.
"Oh?" It caught Mandy’s attention immediately.
"You like it?" Crow said.
Mandy nodded. She instinctively touched the flower.
Mater was busy licking his paw. He was distracted so he didn’t pay attention. The black cat snapped toward Mandy immediately.
"No, wait!"
Nether might not be as deathly to touch as Death Ice but mortal flesh shouldn’t touch it. It will have consequences.
But Crow wasn’t that careless. The flower exploded into tiny little shiny dots. They were similar to stars in the night sky.
"Woah..." Mandy said.
She turned away blushing a little, ’That damn uncle is actually kind of handsome!’
She was referring to the faceless Crow. Mater didn’t even understand why she was even blushing.
’Kids these days!’
Crow managed to calm Mandy down. She agreed to touch the Helmet again. This time nothing bad happened.
Mandy was able to use the Helmet to locate Selina.
"She’s that way!" Mandy pointed.
Suddenly, a surge of black waves washed over the entire pocket dimension.
Mater and the servants weren’t affected but Mandy screamed out in pain immediately.
"Huh? What is happening now?" The black looked at his body and found nothing out of the ordinary.
Mandy quickly took out a candle from her backpack.
"Come to me quickly!" Mandy yelled. She lit the candle.
The black cat and servants closed in on her.
The black waves washed over the dimension once more. This time, a faint barrier was created by the candle, preventing the black waves from touching them.
"What is that?" The black cat’s deep voice echoed.
"We don’t know for sure. But the Psychics here called it dimension surges. It happens every time this place is about to change." Mandy said.
"Change? Change how?"
As the black cat finished saying. The space began to contort.
Selina was walking on her own. She had found her own way out of the stitching room and arrived at the open area where all the floating objects were frozen in the sky.
"What is even going on?"
Suddenly, the black waves washed over her as well. The GAIM on her body lit up in gold. The waves were blocked outside by her chest tattoo.
"Huh?" Selina looked around and saw everything began to change and twist.
When everything calmed down, she found the space turned back to its usual size. It was a burned building with walls as black charcoal.
Selina heard something around the corner and she slowly crept up on it. The goth girl popped her head out slightly to see.
On the other hallway was Aurora walking toward Selina’s direction. That Aurora looked exactly like the real one. But Selina could tell it wasn’t her right away.
The white and blue lines on her body weren’t there. That wasn’t Aurora. It was a wraith not a wight.
