Captured By The Cold Detective (BL)-Chapter 115: Fight To Death
Jia Molei had nearly sacrificed everything just to bring He Juan away with only a breath of life hanging in his body.
After he painstakingly nursed He Juan back to health, he became an overprotective mother hen, almost to the point of paranoia. He couldn’t care less if everyone thought that he was being unreasonable, it was simply because they had no idea what kind of burden Jia Molei was carrying.
Seven years ago, when Su Xieren had just become He Juan’s physical therapist, he had never expected that their relationship would last until now, even becoming closer and closer. Jia Molei had forgotten when it happened — maybe two or three years ago — he had once warned Su Xieren that staying by He Juan’s side might be dangerous. Su Xieren was not a fool. He would be able to discern a lot of things based on the degrees of He Juan’s physical injuries alone. However, Su Xieren was inherently aloof and indifferent. Jia Molei had no idea whether Su Xieren heeded his words or not, but he still treated He Juan the same.
Everything had been very peaceful for the past seven years, so peaceful that it made Jia Molei forget for a split second what kind of life they had been living before then.
He had foolishly thought that the danger had passed and so, he did not feel that there was a need to warn Su Xieren for a second time. Who could have guessed that...
"When..." Jia Molei’s voice was soft as if he was drained of strength. His face was uncannily pale. "Since when have you found us?"
Ku Jin seemed amused by the other person’s dejected appearance. He and Jia Molei were more or less similar in height. Obviously, Jia Molei’s body frame was muscular whereas he was inclined more to slender. Yet when they stood face-to-face like this, Ku Jin’s aura was so strong that it completely overpowered the other and gave him the air of oppression. Without any warning, he leaned in and grazed the tip of his nose along Jia Molei’s cheek, inhaling deeply. "I’m afraid that if I tell you the truth... you will burst into tears right here and now," he whispered softly.
Jia Molei frowned, uncomfortable with their close proximity. Behind him was the closed bathroom stall and there was no space for him to retreat. Just as he was going to duck to the side, Ku Jin promptly slammed his hands on the door, caging him within the suffocating cocoon of his arms. Jia Molei had no choice but to raise his head and shoot him a vicious glare.
From the start, he and Ku Jin had never gotten along. It was like they were destined to be nemesis since the first time they laid eyes on each other. Ku Jin was doing all this to slight him, he knew, and he would rather die than to show his weakness in front of this man.
"Burst into tears? Heh..." Jia Molei sneered in disdain. He ignored the fact that he could sense Ku Jin’s light exhales and forced himself to focus on the matter at hand. "Don’t be so fucking arrogant. If you have found us early on, then why would you only act recently? Let me guess. It should be... last year, around five or six months ago?"
Ku Jin’s expression did not change, but their close distance enabled Jia Molei to see the hardening of his eyes.
Bingo.
Jia Molei lifted his chin and slowly regained his momentum. His lips were still stretched into a derisive smile. "No wonder... I have always thought something was off with how Miss Zhao could be caught by Li Mingzhao when their lives should not intersect with each other in any aspect. It’s you, right? You are the one who exposed her whereabouts to Li Mingzhao, and... you’re also the one who handed the evidence of Li Mingzhao’s illegal transaction to her. Nobody would keep such troublesome contracts by their side. It was just like deliberately planting a bomb that would explode at any time. Only a fucking idiot would do that. Li Mingzhao was an old hand at this, and he certainly is not an idiot judging from how he could evade the police all these years. So, that leaves only one possibility."
He jabbed Ku Jin’s chest and emphasized each word. "You are the one who handed the fucking evidence to her. Miss Zhao is inherently cautious, so you must have spent quite a lot of time convincing her before she could trust you enough to hold onto the evidence. Then you only had to leak the damn news to Li Mingzhao that she had secured black material against him. After that... everything has been placed into position and you only need to wait for the domino’s effect to take place. Am I right, Master Manipulator?"
Even though Jia Molei was busy with his surgeries during the three days of investigation, he had an old trustworthy contact in the police who would leak the news for him. It was also thanks to this person that he was able to bring He Juan under the radar seven years ago.
When Jia Molei skimmed through the case file, he had thought that something was off with the chronology. There were a few points which were too... neat and coincidental. As if someone had deliberately planted it there to make things easier.
For example, why would Miss Zhao’s corpse be found on top of the elevator cubicle? If Long Guozhi was going to get rid of her, there were lots of ways to do that instead of dumping her body where it would eventually be found by people. Was he stupid enough not to realize how it would be trailed back to him in the end? And see, because the police found Miss Zhao’s body, they were able to lock in on Long Guozhi and sniff his route back to Phoenix Ablaze!
This act of Long Guozhi gave Jia Molei the impression that... he was doing it on purpose so that the police would find Miss Zhao’s body soon.
And then, when Jia Molei read the part where the worker who was supposed to fix the elevator the day before the incident was missing, he suddenly had a terrible premonition. Compared to catching the culprit and finding out the truth, this little guy was indeed completely insignificant as there would be no impact toward the overall picture whether the police found him or not. However, as soon as Jia Molei discovered this trifling matter, he seemed to have glimpsed upon the tip of the horrible truth.
There was no reason for Long Guozhi to dig a pit for himself unless... the person he had always been working for was Ku Jin whereas Li Mingzhao was only a guise! And Jia Molei was certain that Ku Jin had also disguised himself as the worker, just like how he took the identity of ’Qin Zhen’ this time!
On the night of the accident, Ku Jin must have been somewhere close to ensure that his chess pieces had stood in position! Step by step, he took the identity of insignificant passersby and spun everyone skillfully into his massive trap...
As Jia Molei pondered more about it, chills ran down his spine and he felt mildly nauseous. Exactly how deep had this person schemed against them?
This person, from the start to the end, had always been fucking disgusting! The rage bubbling within Jia Molei became all the more powerful. He no longer cared whether he could defeat Ku Jin or not as he grabbed his collar roughly, hissing. "From the time when you handed the evidence over to Miss Zhao, you have calculated that she would pass it over to Su Xieren and then... He Juan would definitely involve himself in this matter due to his sympathetic nature. You fucking bastard! Your target has never been Su Xieren in the first place. You’re trying to force He Juan to recall his memory!!"
If not for Miss Zhao’s death... if not for this case, then He Juan would have continued to live his life peacefully, thinking that he was only an ordinary person who was unfortunate to lose his memory. But thanks to this... now He Juan would start to learn about his past! 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
This was Ku Jin’s ultimate goal all along!
The interest in Ku Jin’s eyes brewed stronger and stronger, and when Jia Molei finished his accusations, he threw his head back and laughed out loud, thrilled and delightful in equal measure. He gazed deeply into Jia Molei’s furious eyes, and in that split second, a brief sense of fondness flashed through them. It was so fleeting that perhaps he, too, did not even realize it himself.
Next, without any warning, he suddenly bent down, opened his mouth wide and bit Jia Molei right on the crook of his neck! The sharp teeth instantly tore into the flesh and drew blood, causing Jia Molei to hiss in pain.
Anger rushed into Jia Molei’s head like an erupting volcano and he swiftly threw a punch to Ku Jin’s face, which the latter avoided in the nick of time. Ku Jin retreated a few steps and licked the blood on the corner of his lips, smirking.
"You... fucker!" Jia Molei covered his throbbing neck, seething. "Biting people as you please, do you fucking think you’re an Alpha?!"
"I am not," Ku Jin answered lightly, a glint of desire coursing through him as he gave Jia Molei a once-over. "But I think you’re very satisfied with me even if I am not an Alpha, right?"
He pressed forward and cornered Jia Molei against the bathroom stall again. His hands were not obedient this time as they skillfully slid into the hem of Jia Molei’s shirt, fingertips gliding across the deliciously hard abs in teasing strokes. He whispered into Jia Molei’s ear. "It’s been seven years... I have missed you so much. Don’t you miss me too? Hmm?"
Jia Molei shoved him away with a violent thrust of his elbow, forcing Ku Jin to take a few steps backward if he did not want to have his ribs fractured. The crimson-haired man’s eyes were blazing in hatred and disgust anew. "Don’t fucking touch me with your dirty hands, you sick bastard!" His whole body felt uncomfortable from that one touch, he could not even bear to stay in this place for one more second. He spat out with a growl, "Just you wait. If you dare to touch He Juan or Mu Yuze, I will fight you to death! This time, I won’t stop until one of us dies!"
After saying that, he stormed out of the bathroom, leaving only the sight of his tense and furious back.
Ku Jin’s gaze was transfixed on him, and an imperceptible gentle smile curled on the corner of his lips. "Fight me to death?" His bottomless eyes finally attained a flicker of light, as if he was regaining a precious toy he thought he had lost a long time ago. "Hehe... I will be waiting for you, then."
