Bought For A Baby, Kept For A Lifetime-Chapter 304: Trapped A CEO With A Baby
Anne was shocked to find out that Clara and Gabriel had gotten divorced. Lawfully, a marriage couldn’t be annulled if it wasn’t at least six months old, but if she thought about it, their marriage should have already been six months old by now right?
It seemed the fake marriage had crumbled, but what Anne wondered was why.
Clara had promised that she wouldn’t give up on Andrew, but so far she had made no moves to try to get him, which made Anne confused and grateful at the same time because she’d had enough of silently battling Clara’s unreasonable infatuation.
It would be best if Clara had truly given up, but something about the sudden divorce made Anne uneasy and somewhat suspicious.
She even spoke to Andrew about it but he only said that it seemed Gabriel was coming back to his senses.
The last time Anne saw Clara, there didn’t seem to be any hostility in her eyes towards Anne, it made her think that perhaps Clara had chosen to let go of her petty hatred.
Everything seemed to be going perfectly well after that, until one morning when one of the household staff delivered a small package to Anne which she had received from a delivery guy.
"Mistress, this just arrived for you."
Anne hadn’t been expecting any package since she hadn’t ordered anything and she didn’t know anyone who would send her something to the estate. Though Andrew frequently gave her surprise gifts he would usually leave it on the bed or where she could see it in their room.
Anne took the package with a suspicious frown on her face, she surveyed the small red envelope that was neither heavy nor light and curiously peeled it open.
What fell out of the package was a photograph, along with a thick wad of cash.
Anne hadn’t even looked at the picture yet because she was too confused wondering who had sent her something like this.
The dollar notes each had scribbles on them as if a child had randomly drawn on them with a marker, they were letters that looked hard to make out because they seemed to have been written in a hurry.
When Anne turned the photograph around, a small gasp escaped her lips.
This...
The photograph showed Anne casually wearing a white top, smiling at the camera, Anne couldn’t remember exactly when she had taken this picture but it definitely wasn’t a recent one, however the frightening thing about it was how both her eyes in the picture were cancelled by what seemed to have been a red marker, drawing two Xs on her eyes with some words written below.
-GIVE HIM BACK-
Give him back? What did that mean?
Anne frowned down at the strange package wondering what it meant before someone suddenly walked up to her from behind, startling her.
"What are you looking at like that?" She whirled around with a gasp, and only let out a sigh of relief when she saw that it was Donald standing behind her.
He glanced down at the thing she held and a deep frown tugged his brows.
"Wait...is that you?" He exclaimed, snatching the photograph from her hands.
"Who did this to your picture, Anne?"
"I don’t know, I received it in a package." Anne replied, feeling equally astonished.
Donald read the words with a frown on his face before he looked up and took the destroyed cash in her hands. He saw the scribblings and meticulously began trying to figure them out.
When Donald pieced the scattered words written on the money together, it was several letters in a single word that spelled,
-Bitch-
Realization instantly dawned on Anne, she would be lying if she said she had no idea who sent this.
She had an idea, and quite frankly for the past weeks she hadn’t believed for a second that that person had just disappeared like that and given up.
So it seemed the snake was just hiding, waiting for the perfect time to attack.
Clara had chosen to take the route of scaring her with a measly threat as damaging her picture.
Anne shook her head, it was an incredibly childish thing to do, yet that didn’t mean Anne would underestimate Clara’s intentions.
Donald immediately called the head of security and ordered them to find the person who delivered a package just now, though it took them a few hours, they brought in a youthful looking guy wearing a delivery uniform.
Donald grilled the young man until Anne herself began to feel sorry for him. No matter how much Donald threatened him, he continued to insist that he only worked with a delivery company and had no idea what was in the package he was sent to deliver, unable to bear how much the boy was trembling Anne requested Donald to let him go.
When Andrew returned that night, he rushed into their room having heard what happened from Donald who was still giving instructions to the security teams.
A silently dark look was fixated on his face as he surveyed Anne from head to toe,
"Are you okay?"
Anne could hear how he was reigning in his displeasure as he spoke to her,
"I’m fine Andrew, I’m protected here at the estate." He sighed deeply and hugged her,
"I know, but it seems there’s something I have to do first."
"And what is that?" She asked curiously, and he had said something she didn’t fully understand,
"I think it’s time to cut out the poison before it harms the fruit."
"What does that mean?" She queried, pulling back from his embrace to look at him questioningly. He gave her a mysterious smile and patted her head softly.
"Don’t worry love, I’ll keep you safe no matter what."
Andrew had said those words with firm promise, and it was a promise he had upheld rigidly without fail.
However, the very next day, an explosive news erupted all over the internet and the whole city of Verizon.
It was a heavy rumor spread online with a hashtag that immediately went viral.
