Anne finally realized why they had changed the time stamp on the footage, it was to question her intentions.

"I went there because I heard he wouldn’t take concerns like that until after work hours, and this time stamp on the footage isn’t accurate. I went there around past seven, there were still many people at the office around that time."

"You dare lie to my face. I knew you would try to deny it, but you can’t deny this. Why would I change the time stamps on the footage just to frame you? And if I were truly guilty of making you a dirty offer that night, why would I be the one to expose it myself? Your lies don’t even make sense Miss Anne."

"I knew it! A day would come and her true colors would be exposed to the whole company, that day has finally come and she’s actually trying to push the blame around." Kendra muttered, revealing an expression that showed she was enjoying the show.

Clara entered the meeting room at this moment looking bewildered at everyone present.

"What’s going on in here? I heard voices arguing." She queried looking around as if trying to figure out the situation.

The employees, upon seeing Clara, all cleared the way for her to enter.

"It’s a great thing you’re here Clara, you must know Mr Brian here from administration right?" Rebecca was the one to quickly begin to explain.

Clara glanced at the man frowning slightly as if she didn’t know him.

"Mr Brian right? I’m Clara, manager of PR team B."

Brian nodded as if also meeting her for the first time.

Anne watched the interaction with narrowed eyes.

"Clara, the other day you wanted to help me get rid of the rumors, you sent me to Brian to..."

"What are you talking about Anne? Yes I remember wanting to help you with those rumors, and I did recommend you go to administration to look for help, but I don’t remember actually naming anyone. Why, is that the reason everyone’s gathered here?" Clara’s voice was very soft and kind, she spoke to Anne like a dear friend even though she was clearly just denying something she’d clearly done.

A look of realization showed on Anne’s face and a small bitter smile made it’s way to her lips.

So the snake finally shed it’s skin.

It was no longer a suspicion to her now, it was Clara all along.

This woman whose kind face reflected an angelic warmth, who showed Anne kindness actually was the one busy scheming behind her back.

It was true what people said, never trust a kind smile because behind it, there could be a devil lurking.

"You all don’t start another drama, so much gossips and rumors are constantly going around this company and many of them aren’t true. When those rumors about Anne was going around on the forum, I was the one who informed her that she should go to administration. Mr Brian, if Anne offended you in any way then, I’d like to apologize on her behalf. Anne is a very sweet person and I remember at the time she was just desperate for people to stop talking bad about her, so please do forgive whatever it was she might have done."

"You are a very kind superior Miss Clara, but being desperate does not excuse the dirty behavior of trying to seduce a married man to get her way. You know our company’s policies, she should be dismissed from her position at once."

Clara gasped in disbelief after hearing what Brian just said, "Are you trying to tell me that Anne tried to seduce you?"

Brian nodded with certainty, "She wanted me to delete every bad thing said about her on the forum but I told her that I didn’t have the authorization to do it, so she tried to seduce me, she said she was willing to give herself to me right there inside my office if I would clear all the rumors about her. I even have proof of her going into my office very late at night."

Clara looked at the playing footage on the screen and her grey eyes lowered to show disappointment.

"Anne, you really..." Tears began to glistening in her eyes. "Why did you do something like that? I understand you were very desperate and if I were in your shoes, I wouldn’t be able to stand people talking about me like that but you... what you did was very..."

"What I did? I clearly remember you telling me to ask him for help, not only that, you told me to go only after work hours. Clara right to my face, you’re telling me you didn’t tell me to do these things?" Anne realized the truth now, but she still couldn’t believe it.

"Anne, you can’t deny what you did just because Mr Brian brought proof with him. I wanted to help you, but how could I have sent you to Mr Brian when I’m just meeting him for the first time?"

"Do you guys see this? Now that she has no other escape route, she’s trying to pour the blame on Clara." Rebecca said to the other employees.

"I can stand here and listen to her try to come up with lies to defend herself, but she shouldn’t accuse Clara of anything. She’s the biggest example of biting the hands that feed you. We all clearly saw how much Clara used to favor her and defend her all the time, now she’s trying to push her actions to Clara." Rebecca went on to provoke the employees.

All of them had very high respect for Clara, when it reached this point they all became furious.

"Please stop, Anne isn’t at fault and I’m not mad at her for saying I sent her to him. She must be feeling so scared right now and a frightened person can say anything to get out of trouble, please don’t be mad at her for it." Clara tried to pacify all the other employees.

"You can’t be too kind Clara, people will take advantage of you. We won’t let this girl escape what she did today." Jessica spoke up with an air of righteousness, they all saw Clara as the kindest person on earth who couldn’t harm anyone else. Since Clara had been involved, their anger and hatred for Anne sky rocketed.

"I’ve already taken this issue to HR, I’m sure she’ll soon be receiving their verdict." Brian said.

"If everyone is done accusing me, I can at least say something to defend myself right? Mr Brian brought his proof, so naturally it’s time I bring mine." Anne finally said, looking composed.

She didn’t let their words get to her or penetrate her skin, hence she could calmly stand before them all and listen to every word without losing her cool.

"What proof do you think you can bring when you have been fully exposed. The fact that you tried to put what you did on Clara itself Is proof enough that you did it and you were looking for ways to escape." Rebecca spat.

Anne however directed her gaze to Clara.

Beneath the kind sweet exterior, Anne finally saw a devious witch she was keeping inside.

"Justice states both sides have rights to defend themselves, don’t you agree Clara?" As Anne said this, Clara’s face stiffened.

The only reason she no longer kept her image in Anne’s eyes was because this was the final moment she would be getting rid of Anne from this company for good, but now she began to wonder what kind of proof Anne had to defend herself.

No matter what happened, Anne should be fired from this company today for good.

But Clara still had to maintain her image of a kind and gentle woman so she said.

"Please, let’s listen to Anne. She should be given a chance to prove herself too."

Both women’s gazes collided, Clara knew Anne already found out about her true character by now, so discreetly a small smirk showed on Clara’s face, challenging Anne quietly.
