Bought For A Baby, Kept For A Lifetime-Chapter 125: Destroy Her
Andrew stared at the sheet of paper he’d found on his table when he entered his office after going out for a while.
His guess had been right.
Anne’s so called additional terms to their contract were something absolutely ridiculous.
She had kept a note with a list of her terms on his table when he was out.
What had he been thinking when he’d agreed to give her the permission to add her own terms again?
Gritting his teeth he rolled his eyes, massaging his head to ease the constant headache.
Sleep was still something extremely difficult to attain, he merely managed to get two hours of sleep every night after downing large amounts of melatonin pills and some other pills Shawn had provided.
"I’d still recommend the lovely lady as a better treatment method, she makes you sleep without even trying." Shawn would say whenever he tossed the pills down his own throat.
The lovely lady brought with her an irresistible attachment, she was like a magnet that would pull one in.
Sleeping next to her always felt unreal and satisfying, but he knew from experience that one never achieved strength through comfort or pleasure, the best ways to grow and maintain that strength was by pushing pleasure to the absolute back.
That girl threatened his strong will and rigid control, it was best to keep her at a distance even if he would continue to endure a few hours of sleep daily.
She was his antidote, fascinating as that was, he shouldn’t have her close.
Andrew walked to a spot in his office and retrieved a bottle from the concealed wine cabinet.
He poured some wine in a glass and stood by the windows sipping slowly.
That woman...she had the chance to ask anything of him, absolutely anything to add to the contract.
She could have asked for half his wealth as alimony upon their divorce, she could have had anything, but of course that wasn’t who she is.
Looking down at the paper once more he smiled subtly, until a certain line among what she wrote down made that smile slowly vanish.
There were only three clauses on the paper, but the third one...
Clause 3: When the child is born, I’d like to remain in it’s life as it’s mother.
As Andrew re-read that line, his gaze slowly began to turn dark, a distant look showing in his eyes as he stared out the window.
.....
That morning, Anne noticed Rebecca giving her a strange look but she didn’t dwell on it much. She already accepted the fact that the employees in this department didn’t like her and they probably never would, at around lunch time. Rebecca snuck into Clara’s office looking like she had something important to discuss with her.
Anne wouldn’t have bothered noticing where Rebecca was going if the latter hadn’t locked eyes with her and sent her a smug smirk, as if she knew something huge that no one else did.
Within the subtly luxurious space of Clara’s office.
A brand new Hermes diamond bag was sitting on Clara’s desk, it had been a very long time since she allowed herself carry around such a luxurious piece after all, her aim had always been to impress Andrew. He disliked greed, so she assumed he wouldn’t like a woman who went around dressed like a million bucks, so Clara often dampened her high tastes.
The things she did for the man, yet he didn’t see her. He never looked at her. But that would soon change, her aim wasn’t a casual little relationship with him, her aim was marriage, that was precisely why she had planted a little spy in the Sterling estate.
The nasty little fool had gotten herself discovered.
Anne was never a threat to Clara before if it weren’t for the fact that she not only managed to get close to the Sterling brothers, but to Andrew himself. To the point she managed to enter the Sterling estate, managed to walk into Andrew’s bedroom.
Rebecca entered the office at this moment with an eagerness on her face to share some news.
"What is it Becky?"
"Clara, I have something to tell you." She made herself comfortable first before beginning to share the news she discovered.
"I did some crazy things to try to find out a secret about that Anne, I already knew she was hiding something."
Clara felt internally elated.
Finally, someone useful who would bring her useful information unlike that Sasha whom she’d hired at a huge price because the fool claimed to be really skilled, but ended up failing her.
"What did you find out?" Clara tried to keep her elation at bay, after all she still had to maintain her image of a peaceful idol who really liked Anne.
"I had her followed." Rebecca announced before quickly adding, "I know it’s a terrible thing to do Clara, it’s not ethical to spy on someone so please don’t scold me for it."
Clara gave her a stern look.
"Becky, you shouldn’t have done that. That’s invasion of privacy. Besides, you assured me you’d look into her yourself not hire some goon to do it. What if he’s the kind of those lawless people who would hurt Anne?"
"I know, I know, but I just had to prove to you that Anne isn’t someone worthy of you defending her constantly like you always do. Besides he just wanted money, he wouldn’t have hurt Anne if I didn’t pay him to do it, and I’m not that kind of person, I wouldn’t want to hurt her."
Clara sighed as if exasperated but internally she was impressed.
This Rebecca wasn’t completely useless after all.
"So what did you find out about Anne that was so bad?" Clara finally asked.
"She’s pregnant!" Rebecca announced with certainty.
"She’s what?"
"She’s definitely pregnant. The person I had follow her saw her going into a store the other day, she went in there to buy a pregnancy test kit."
"You’re concluding her to be pregnant because she bought a pregnancy test kit? And so what if she’s pregnant, that’s absolutely none of our concern."
Clara had been waiting to hear a dirty little secret about Anne, she didn’t expect it to be something this useless.
The girl was pregnant, what was she going to do with that information?
"I didn’t just conclude, he waited outside her apartment for a day and when she threw out trash, he dug through it and found the test strip, it had positive lines." Rebecca quickly defended herself.
Truthfully, Rebecca also thought that information might not be that useful to bring down Anne, but it was juicy news. Fresh gossip that made her eager to tell someone and that someone was definitely Clara. She would have told the whole office by now but she knew Clara would definitely stop her from doing so.
Clara was always thoughtful about other people, she wouldn’t want Anne’s secret revealed. And if Rebecca were to get back into Clara’s good books, she had to do whatever Clara wanted her to do.
Clara made a mildly disgusted face when Rebecca spoke about the person she hired digging through trash.
Rebecca made a sheepish face, "He’s just one of those people who’ll do anything for money so he did it to get more information because I strictly said he wouldn’t get paid if he found nothing."
"Alright Becky, no more spying on Anne." Clara said strictly. "And don’t tell anyone what you just found out about Anne."
Rebecca nodded lightly, and Clara’s eyes turned calculative. 𝕗𝐫𝐞𝕖𝕨𝐞𝗯𝚗𝕠𝘃𝐞𝚕.𝐜𝗼𝚖
Actually, on a second thought...
She could use this, she could use it in another way.
Clara made a sad sympathetic face, "So Anne is pregnant, I’m happy for her."
"Happy? I bet she got knocked up while whoring around."
"Becky!" Clara gave an admonished look but Rebecca looked unrepentant.
"What? I just said the truth. I doubt she’s in a committed relationship, and I can bet a whole year’s salary that she might not even know who the father of the child is. No wonder she kept throwing up and acting all sick." Rebecca’s voice was filled with envy and bitterness, it was very evident that her dislike for Anne came from a deep seethed jealousy she was trying to keep hidden.
Petty envy. Clara sneered internally. She didn’t see anything to be jealous on that Anne. But it didn’t matter, she could use Becky’s petty little jealousy to her own advantage.
"Stop saying those things about her Becky, you saw the lawyer’s letter right? You can’t continue to defame her like that."
Though Clara mentioned the lawyer’s letter, she was seething on the inside recalling it.
That vixen...she could already imagine how pitifully she must have gone to cry to Andrew.
Clara had sent the idiot to Brian hoping she would be gullible enough to fall into his trap, but she actually got out of it unscathed and then ran to Andrew.
Clara would take it back from her, every moment she’d gone to Andrew, every moment Andrew did something for her he’d never done for anyone else before, Clara would take it back from Anne.
She wasn’t someone who was used to sharing, she was an only child, pampered and loved, and if someone else even so much as used or touched something of hers, Clara took it back with interest.
"I feel for Anne even more after discovering about her pregnancy. It makes me want to be a very good friend to her." Clara began knowing her words would further fan the flames of hate in Rebecca’s heart towards Anne.
Indeed the latter’s eyes revealed the jealousy hidden inside. A calculative look showing on Rebecca’s face as if she was silently planning something, anything that would hurt Anne.
Clara hid a look of satisfaction.
That’s right Becky, hate her, hate her even more then destroy her.
