Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 258: Mia’s True Feelings
Chapter 258: Chapter 258: Mia’s True Feelings
Aiden froze. Her words stung, and for a moment, he felt a strange heaviness in his chest.
He knew she was right. Spencer would never look at him that way. But hearing it out loud... it made the reality of it hit harder. Still, he wasn’t going to show weakness.
"I know that," Aiden said stiffly. "I don’t need you to remind me of it."
Mia took a step closer, her voice soft but full of a strange sincerity.
"But you know, even if Spencer doesn’t see you that way... You can still be close to him. You can at least be his best friend. That bond is beautiful, too.
You might not get the love you want from him, but you will get his care. He’ll talk to you, and you’ll be able to spend time together. That’s better than nothing, right?"
Aiden stood there for a moment, processing her words. His mind raced as he tried to understand what Mia was getting at.
He had always dreamed of being more than just a friend to Spencer, but was it really enough to just be his friend? Could he live with that?
Mia noticed his hesitation and pressed on.
"I’m not saying it’s easy, but... the way I see it, you have a chance to have something with Spencer. It may not be the way you want it, but you can still have his presence in your life."
Aiden’s lips parted as if he was going to say something, but he didn’t. His gaze dropped to the ground for a moment, conflicted.
Just as he was about to speak again, he stopped and raised an eyebrow.
"Wait a minute," he said, his voice skeptical. "Are you saying all this because... You have feelings for Aurora?"
Mia froze for a second at Aiden’s question. Her eyes widened, and her mouth opened like she was about to deny it. But then... she smiled. A soft, small smile.
"Aiden, you’re thinking too much," she said, waving her hand like it was no big deal.
But Aiden wasn’t fooled.
The moment he saw that smile... he knew. It was the same kind of fake smile he had worn years ago. The kind of smile he had used when he first realized he liked Spencer, but told himself to just be his friend. It was a smile that tried to hide the truth.
Aiden’s expression softened. "You know..." he said in a light tone, "If you don’t chase what you love today, you’ll regret never trying."
Mia’s eyes flickered with emotion, but she quickly shook her head, her smile staying on her face. "And if I chase it now," she said gently, "I’ll regret losing what I already have."
Her words were simple... almost childish... but somehow they hit Aiden right in the heart.
He paused, thinking about it. Yeah... there was truth in that. A painful kind of truth. He stood there for a few seconds, letting her words sink in.
"Doesn’t it... hurt though?" Aiden finally asked, his voice quieter now.
Mia’s smile softened. "It used to," she said. "But... I’ve already passed that stage."
She looked up at the sky with a faraway look in her eyes. "Now... I just feel happy that I get to spend time with her. That I can be by her side. That I can make her laugh sometimes."
Aiden knew exactly who Mia meant. Aurora.
"You’re really generous, Mia," Aiden said with a small, real smile.
But Mia shook her head. "Not really. I’ve just... lost too much already. And I realized that the little things I still have... they’re precious. I don’t want to lose them, too."
Her voice was soft, almost like a whisper. But it carried a weight that Aiden could feel deep inside.
For a moment, Aiden didn’t say anything. He just stood there, staring at her.
Then finally... he gave her one last nod and turned around. Without another word, he walked away.
Mia stood there, watching him leave. She stayed quiet for a while, then closed her eyes.
Her mind drifted back... to the first time she met Aurora.
She could still remember it like it was yesterday.
It was a normal school morning. Mia was sitting near the back of the classroom, bored and playing with her pen.
And then... Aurora walked in.
Her long, beautiful red hair was loose, swaying with every step. Her cold, grey eyes scanned the room with a calm, distant gaze as if she didn’t care about anyone’s opinion.
She looked like a queen. Strong, proud, untouchable.
Exactly the type Mia had always admired. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
Mia smiled softly at the memory. Back then, she had thought... Maybe this person will never notice me.
But somehow... she did.
She became friends with her crush. To hide her crush, she even said that she liked Dana. The reality was... that day, when everyone went to the mall and she was left with Dana, she had followed Aurora and Spencer secretly.
She heard half of their conversation, and she understood that Aurora and Spencer might have confessed their feelings and gotten together.
Though it was inevitable, Mia felt as if something broke inside her. She cried... she cried so much that even after fixing her makeup, it was visible that she had cried.
When Aurora had asked her why she was crying, Mia didn’t dare to tell her anything. Her mind was blank, and she remained silent.

The next day, after sorting out her feelings, Mia lied to Aurora, saying Dana had a boyfriend and she was straight; in reality, she was referring to Aurora.

However, the fact that relieved Mia the most was... Aurora didn’t know. Aurora even comforted her.
When Aurora stood up for her in the mall and even pretended to be her fake girlfriend, Mia felt thrilled. She stole a moment for herself and relived it every time she felt hurt seeing Aurora and Spencer together.
