Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 253: Karen
Chapter 253: Chapter 253: Karen
Before Aurora could react, the kid crashed right into her legs and fell flat on the ground with a loud "Thud!"
The boy’s face scrunched up, and within seconds, loud wailing filled the air.
"It hurts! It hurts so much!" he cried, holding his knee and rocking back and forth dramatically.
Aurora stared at the kid, blinking in disbelief.
What in the world...?
Slowly, she knelt down beside him. "Hey... are you okay? Where does it hurt?" she asked, her voice surprisingly gentle.
But the little boy’s reaction shocked her.
As soon as he saw her face, his teary eyes grew big and angry.
"You’re a bad person!" he shouted, and before Aurora could dodge, the kid started hitting her with his chubby little fists.
Aurora leaned back in surprise, barely avoiding a soft punch to her stomach.
"Hey! What’s your problem?!" she asked, confused and a little annoyed.
But the kid wasn’t done.
"You wanted to kill me!" he screamed dramatically, hitting her arm with all the strength his tiny hands had.
Aurora froze.
Her eye twitched.
Kill him? Where did that come from? she thought, wondering if she should just... pick him up and throw him outside.
Before she could decide what to do, a loud and furious voice echoed from across the area.
"Who DARED to make my son cry?!"
Aurora’s heart sank.
She turned her head slowly... and saw a tall, angry-looking woman storming toward her.
The woman’s eyes were blazing with rage, and she was pointing straight at Aurora like she was some kind of villain.
Aurora sighed deeply.
Great... just great... Now I’m in trouble again.
The woman immediately stormed toward Aurora, her face twisted with fury.
"You are truly daring!" she shouted. "You tried to kill my son, and now you’re standing here like nothing happened! What were you thinking?!"
Aurora took a deep breath and tried to stay calm. "Listen," she said, trying to explain herself.
"I wasn’t trying to hurt your son at all. He crashed into me—"
But the woman wasn’t listening. She cut Aurora off with a loud, dramatic shout.
"I know women like you! You don’t spare little boys! You have dirty thoughts about them!" Her words were sharp and angry, like daggers aimed right at Aurora.
Aurora’s patience snapped. Her eyes narrowed, and her voice turned cold.
"If you don’t stop saying those disgusting things, I’ll go to the cops and sue you. Do you understand?" she said, her tone ice-cold.
The woman froze, her face going pale. It seemed that Aurora’s threat worked.
The woman realized that maybe, just maybe, Aurora wasn’t someone she could bully so easily. She backed off slightly but still looked furious.
"Fine," the woman said, gritting her teeth.
"But you’re still going to pay for what you did! I want $1000 as compensation, and you’ll apologize to my son. And you’ll do it by kneeling down in front of him!"
Aurora’s forehead twitched at the absurdity of the request. She looked at the woman like she had lost her mind. "I’m not doing that," she said firmly.
"If you want, you can call the cops. But I’m not paying you anything."
The woman’s face turned bright red with anger.
"If you don’t do as I said, I’ll make sure you don’t have a peaceful life in this building!" she shouted.
Aurora raised an eyebrow, unfazed. "We’ll see about that," she replied coolly, turning to leave.
But the woman wasn’t finished. She stepped in front of Aurora, blocking her path.
"This building is owned by me!" the woman barked. "If you don’t listen to me, I’ll make sure you and your family get kicked out!"
Aurora’s lips curled into a smile.
"I’ve legitimately bought apartments in this building," she said. "Even if you own it, you don’t have the right to kick me out. My name’s on the lease."
The woman’s eyes widened in disbelief. "You... you’re audacious!" she snapped.
"How dare you talk back to me! Is this how your parents raised you? A rude little brat with no manners?"
Aurora rolled her eyes, unimpressed. "For now, I’d say you’re the one without manners, acting like a manless lady," she replied with a smirk.
The woman’s face turned beet red with rage.
"You’re going to regret this!" she shouted. "I’m calling the police and having you arrested!"
Aurora knew exactly what kind of person she was dealing with now. A typical Karen. Aurora crossed her arms and didn’t even flinch.
"Go ahead and call the cops. But you can’t stop me from leaving. I’m not going to stand here and listen to you."
The woman screamed, her voice shrill.
"If you walk away, I’ll make sure you never feel safe here again! I’ll make your life miserable!" she yelled, practically foaming at the mouth.
Aurora gave her a dismissive glance.
"Fine. Do whatever you want," she said, and with a push of her hand, she lightly nudged the woman aside.
But as soon as Aurora pushed the woman, something strange happened. The woman stumbled back, tripping over her own feet, and with a loud "Thud!", she fell flat on her back.
Aurora blinked, stunned. The woman instantly started crying, clutching her chest dramatically. "She’s trying to kill me!" she wailed.
"She’s going to kill me!"
Aurora was speechless. Seriously? she thought. This woman really thinks I’m trying to murder her because I barely touched her?
Aurora sighed heavily and decided that enough was enough. She turned on her heel and walked away, ignoring the woman’s exaggerated cries.
But as she walked, she heard a familiar click.
The woman had pulled out her phone and snapped pictures of Aurora’s back, probably planning to share them with the entire building.
Aurora rolled her eyes and shook her head. She knew the woman was probably going to spread lies about her, but she didn’t care. She had better things to do.
Once she got back to her apartment, Aurora went straight to her room, feeling a little tired from the confrontation. But then, her mind went back to the three guys—Darren, Mason, and Caleb.
