Bloodline Reckoning: The System Made Me Filthy Rich-Chapter 70: You Made The Right Choice!
Chapter 70: You Made The Right Choice!
"Noah, I’m sorry we’re late—"
Jason’s voice could be heard from the door, pulling Noah out of his own thoughts.
He glanced at the door and saw Jason, Seven, and the others standing there, their faces filled with shock as they looked at him before gazing at the lifeless body on the floor.
"It’s fine! I didn’t notify you guys earlier because I was rushing to rescue," Noah explained.
Earlier, he only had time to ask Zoe to notify them after he killed Jeremy.
"Is she alright?" Jason asked worriedly. His gaze stayed on Emma on the bed.
"I hope so. Emma is unconscious now. As the drug’s effect dissipates, she will feel better when she wakes up. Thank God I came at the right time, Jason. Otherwise that asshole would have the chance to really hurt her..."
Noah explained before he shifted his gaze back to Emma. He needs to get Emma out of here before she wakes up. It would be difficult to explain if she saw Jeremy’s bloody body on the floor.
He silently thinks for a moment before telling Seven to clear the crime scene and asking him to contact Matthew for assistance.
However, before Seven could answer him, Zoe’s voice rang in his mind.
’Sir, I’ve already informed Matthew. He’s just arrived outside.’
Noah was relieved to hear that. He trusts that Matthew will devise a workable plan for covering Jeremy’s death.
"Yes, sir. I will take care of everything here..." Seven responded and left with his team to the first floor, leaving only Noah and Jason in the room.
Noah moved closer to the bed and leaned in to ensure he covered Emma’s body with his coat. Then he turned back to Jason, who was still standing in the doorway, waiting for his instruction.
"Jason, can you prepare a car? We need to get her out of this place."
"Yes, I will..." Jason slightly nods before he leaves in a hurry. Just as he is about to descend the stairs, he sees Matthew also rush upstairs.
"Where is he?" Matthew asked in a hurried tone.
"He is in that room," Jason pointed to the room at the end of the hallway. "I need to prepare the car and leave this place. Hope you can clean the mess here, Matt," he expressed his concern that Matthew would have to deal with so many dead bodies in this place.
"No need to worry. That’s my job..." Matthew smiled, patting Jason’s shoulder before continuing his step.
Standing by the doorway, Matthew noticed Noah sitting near the bed, his back turned to him.
Matthew cleared his throat to catch Noah’s attention. When Noah looked at him, he said, "Sir, you may leave now. I’ll handle everything here."
"Thank you, Matthew. Sorry to disturb you in the middle of the night."
Matthew chuckled softly as he entered and stood at the end of the bed. "I’ve already mentioned, there’s no need to say that. It’s my responsibility to handle anything for you, sir."
Didn’t hear him say anything, Matthew continued, "Do you need a doctor or anything else?" freēwēbnovel.com
"No need. I came at the right time, they didn’t have time to hurt her—"
Noah hesitated to tell the truth that Jeremy had already touched her, even though nothing more had happened. Still, revealing this to someone else could embarrass Emma.
"I plan to take her to the Royal Phoenix Hotel," Noah answered, gently lifting Emma into his arms.
However, before leaving the room, he turned to look at Matthew again. He asked, "Can you assign a trusted female staff member to help her clean up?"
"Yes, sir. Consider it done. A female staff member will be standing by at the front door of your presidential suite, awaiting your call."
"Thanks—"
...
Jason drove quietly, without saying a word, as if he knew Noah needed peace.
However, after ten minutes since the vehicle left the warehouse, Jason had to ask Noah about their destination. He kept glancing into the rearview mirror to check on him.
With little light coming from outside, Jason could see Noah lost in thought as he looked out the window. While Emma was still fast asleep, her head resting on Noah’s lap.
He cleared his throat softly before finally asking in a low voice, not wanting to wake Emma.
"Noah, are we going home?"
From the rearview mirror, he saw Noah looking at him.
"No, we will go to the Royal Phoenix Hotel."
Jason was surprised. He thought he would take Emma to his house, but he was mistaken.
Without saying anything else, he drove faster in silence. And in no time, they finally arrive at the hotel.
"Do you want me to carry her?" Jason offered, noticing that Noah looked tired.
"No. I’m good. She’s light," Noah hurriedly responded, a faint smile flickering on his lips before he continued, "But I need you to lead the way to the presidential room..."
Noah handed Jason his golden card, which granted him access to any Golden Phoenix Group building, allowing them to enter the hotel without needing to register.
Then Noah gently lifted Emma into his arms and carried her out of the car. Using the special elevator, they went to the top floor directly to the Presidential suite.
As the elevator doors opened, a woman dressed similarly to what Seven and his team usually wear stood before it and greeted Noah politely.
"Mr. Morgan, I’m here to help the lady change her clothes, as Mr. Matthew instructed me..." She lifted the shopping bag of the famous women’s clothing to show him.
"Ah, yes... You can follow us," Noah replied as he followed Jason, who was now opening the door to the presidential suite.
Noah had never been to this hotel before, but he had visited several of the Royal Phoenix hotels elsewhere; he knew the layout and found the master bedroom immediately.
After carefully laying Emma on the bed, Noah left the room. He asked the female staff to help her change into comfortable clothes. He joined Jason in the living room.
They both said nothing, looking pensive as if they were waiting for the female staff member who helped Emma leave the room.
...
It didn’t take long for the female staff to finish helping Emma. She then excused herself and left the master bedroom, leaving them alone again.
Noah finally tells Jason what happened to Emma when he finds her on the second floor, Jeremy Morgan almost raped her.
Hearing that, Jason’s face flushed red, as if all his blood was rushing through his skin. Earlier, he was already trying to understand why Noah murdered his cousin, and that’s the only reason that would make Noah so furious—Jeremy must be trying to rape Emma.
He would do the same if he were the one who first captured Jeremy, because he already considers Emma his sister. Someone who tries to harm her in such a way deserves death!
However, Jason now feels concerned as he notices the emptiness in Noah’s eyes.
"Noah, you made the right choice... don’t be afraid!"
Noah looked at Jason before sharing his thoughts, "No. I didn’t worry about it. But I’m concerned about who helped Jeremy—"
