Blade of the Goddess-Chapter 226
Chapter 226: Chapter 226
"That’s all? I thought you were going on a vacation or something. Whatever, I’ll see you back at home." Lidia hung up, and now Zion was faced with the two angels.
"How dare you come into our realm and claim to slaughter us! Know your place, mortal!" The man shouted, holding up a mace.
"Since you’re clearly a lost mortal, we’ll let this slide. However, do anything rash, and you’ll regret it." The woman pointed her spear at Zion, ready to pierce his heart.
Zion looked at the two of them and couldn’t help but laugh. He heard the same thing from that one angel who attacked him in Midgard, and he ended up dying. While he knew that there would be angels stronger than him, these two weren’t among them, so he wasn’t worried.
"It’s funny, really. The one I killed earlier said something similar. And, well, obviously he’s dead. So, what makes you think you’ll fare any better?"
The woman snarled. "You haven’t faced me yet!" Her wings flapped, and her body moved at high speeds. The spear in her hand extended forward, and its energy pulsed, ready to strike down the invader who was Zion.
"Nothing but a light show." Zion casually swatted the spear away and clutched the woman’s throat. "This is all you got? Wow, can’t say I’m impressed."
"Let her go!" The man shouted
"Or what? I see your legs shaking like a little bitch. Just sit tight, I’ll be there with you in a sec." He squeezed the woman’s neck tighter.
"Aghh!"
"Let her go!!!" The man leaped forward to crack open Zion’s skull, but the mace simply shattered on his head, not even strong enough to damage him.
"Wh...What?!" He stammered in shock
"Wow. Now I’m just disappointed. Doesn’t matter, though. I’m sure there’s someone here who will interest me." Zion’s hand pierced right through the woman’s chest, ripping out her heart and crushing it.
"Noooo!!!!"
The man tried to attack Zion, but his friend’s body was thrown at him. He caught it, not wanting her to get hurt any further, but right as he caught her, a blade made out of light pierced his heart.
The last thing he saw was Zion staring at him like a maniac, a cold, dark, and evil expression on his face right before he flew off into the distance.
[Your care for life is really limited.]
"Tessa, the only people I care about are those who have value, have done nothing to me, or are my family. However, if people get in the way of my mission, innocent or not, I will eliminate them.
[Your true colors are showing.]
Zion chuckled. "You know, I’ve never been my ’true’ self before. I don’t like talking about my past life, but it’s filled with blood. I killed a ton of people. I had to survive; I had to ensure my family’s safety. But they died. After that, I lost myself, and there was so much blood on my hands that the higher-ups called me the slaughterer. The civilians, though, called me a hero; they called me a savior, but I was nothing but a pawn for the true people in power. I played my role, but that wasn’t me. My broken mind was never fixed; it was only pushed back from the promise that I could save my old world. But now, when no one is watching,"
Zion’s whole body changed. A dark-red aura engulfed his body, and his eyes turned blood red. His hair was blackened, and red veins could be seen under his eyes. At that moment, Zion’s mind regressed back to its original state.
"Time and time again, people called me insane. Never once have I denied it. Now, I can finally embrace my nature!" His body erupted into a burst of red energy. Zion didn’t undergo a transformation and get stronger; instead, his bloodlust materialized on his body.
"It’s time for blood!"
He rocketed off to the nearby settlement, crashing into a building that killed dozens of angels. None of them even had time to react as they were cut down left and right without mercy.
"We’re under attack! To arms!" The angels shouted, readying their weapons and leading those who couldn’t fight to safety.
"Who’s attacking us?"
"Is it a demon?"
"Is it who god worshiping bastards?"
"No!" A voice came from above. "It’s me!" Zion slammed down on a man, crushing his entire body.
He ripped out the man’s spine and used it as a whip that wrapped around another angel’s neck. After snapping it, he threw the body into another angel where he proceeded to blow them both up with a violent blast of fire magic.
"Over here! The intruder is over here!"
Elite angel warriors engaged Zion in a battle.
He dodged, avoiding fatal strikes while counterattacking perfectly. One guy threw a punch, Zion ducked and uppercutted him. A sword came for his back, but Zion spun around it, snapped the blade, grabbed it, then jabbed it in the man’s heart.
Two came at him from his left and right, and another came from beneath the ground. He jumped, split kicked the two on the sides, then fired a beam of light that not only vaporized the man, but blasted Zion into the air.
As he was flying upward, two golden whips wrapped around the necks of the angels he kicked. He pulled them up, switched the whips into swords, then cleanly sliced off their heads.
When he landed, thousands of angels were waiting for him, all of not ready to face the crazy bastard who stood before them.
"Stop! You’re surrounded! Give up or die!" The leader shouted.
Zion licked his sword, then pointed it at the leader. "All I’m surrounded by is fear." He stopped holding back, using his full strength to draw out more angels. "And dead men!"
The leader didn’t even notice when Zion’s sword was lodged in his face. Zion teleported to his sword, then threw it at another person. He dodged oncoming attacks, cutting down more and more angels, then teleported to the sword he threw, killing the angels in that area.
He continued this until every angel on the floating island was dead at his feet.
"Look, Tessa! We have a whole realm to cleanse! Off to the next floating rock!" He took off, continuing his assault, reducing the number of angels in the realm.
