Chapter 212: Chapter 212

"You bastard!" Konnor roared as he picked himself up, rocks falling off his body as he soared into the air.

Anger wasn’t enough to explain how he felt.

He was humiliated, insulted, ignored, and looked down upon. He, a Divine Apostle, was treated with the utmost disrespect.

"No one is original these days. ’You bastard!’ That’s what they always say. Like shout something else like ’You low-level ingrain!’ or ’Graceless Tarnished!’ Well, maybe not that one. You might get copyrighted."

Konnor looked to his left and saw Zion casually standing on the pointed top of the Royal Castle. His eyes were indifferent, not even recognizing Konnor as a threat or enemy.

’To be treated this way! It’s insulting! Not only to me but to Lord Arion! I’ll show him why I was chosen to be his Apostle!’ Konnor gritted his teeth and then summoned an axe made out of his holy power.

Zion laughed. He couldn’t help it. The guy was bitch slapped with no effort yet he was still trying to fight? It was a pitiful sight.

"Sure, I’ll play along. Besides, as Apostles, it’s our fate to battle each other. But let’s make this more interesting." Zion called upon Luminera, shooting his power into the sky, where Luminera would grab it and spread it throughout the heavens.

"Hear me, Gods of this world. Today will make the day where your fall begins. Freya, your pitiful Apostle has already fallen, and your people have turned their backs on you. Arion, today, you will suffer the same fate. As for the rest of you, let this be a reminder that your days are numbered. Gather your forces, prepare for war, and pray to the creator of the universe that you can survive, because once I’m done here, I’m coming for you!"

To say the gods were angry was an understatement. Freya, who had lost everything, decided to use her power to aid her siblings so that they could kill Zion, a mortal who’d dare challenge the gods.

Ivaldi, Cernunnos, and Bahamut informed their Apostles of Zion and their goal to destroy them. They wasted no time preparing their people for his arrival, not knowing that Zion already had people in their lands.

Arion’s anger was so great that the heavens started shaking.

’Kill him!’ Arion shouted in Konnor’s ear.

"Do no fret, My Lord. I shall deliver you his head and bring back the honor he stole from you!"

’I expect nothing less from my Apostle.’

Zion’s eyes lit up. "Arion? You in there? Ready to watch me turn your Apostle into a little bitch?"

’KILL HIM!’ Arion ordered

"Yes, my lord!"

Konnor charged at him, his axe shining in the moonlight as he swung it toward Zion’s neck.

"Please." Zion flicked the axe with his finger, shattering it with ease. He pointed his finger at Konnor’s chest, a faint golden light shimmering at its tip.

While the energy was small and subtle, Konnor could feel its immense power. It was frightening seeing how much power was contained in such a small attack.

But when Zion fired it, the destruction it caused made everyone turn to the sight of the royal castle being completely obliterated.

"Shit! I didn’t mean to destroy the castle!" Zion said in a panic

[Don’t worry, I’ve already recorded all the texts and documents.]

"Phew, that was close." Zion didn’t truly care about preserving history, but that didn’t mean he would actively seek its destruction. As a history and mythology nerd himself, he always wondered how accurate Ancient texts were in the modern day, as some had been lost to time.

Konnor, who took on the attack, was groaning in pain, his chest almost blown out. He could barely stand, and his vision doubled.

"Need a hand?" Zion asked, backhanding the Apostle into the church of Arion.

"Ugh, stepping in here gives me the creeps. Let’s get rid of it." With the flick of his wrist, Zion blew up the entire church.

"Noooooo! Aghhhh!! My lordship’s house of worship! His sanctum! You cruel demon! How could you do such a thing?!" Konnor asked in a rage, standing up to fight once more.

"Demon?" Zion asked with a smile. "While you’re a bit off the mark, you’re pretty close. It’s funny, really. A while ago, I would have been insulted if you called me that, but now, heh, now I don’t even care."

"Shut the fuck up!" Konnor rushed at Zion, his power pulsing with an intensity that it had never had before.

But Zion casually swatted his head into the ground, the force bouncing him back up into the air, where he proceeded to knee Konnor in the chest, breaking his bones, then spin-kick him into an abandoned house.

"T-This is impossible! You shouldn’t be this strong!" Blood rushed out of Konnor’s mouth as he stood up. But after suffering many injuries, he collapsed to his knees.

Zion shook his head as he approached Konnor, each step radiating power. "What a disappointment. I expected you to be more impressive than this. I used to fear you apostles, but now, you’re nothing but a joke. Even my spirit summon could kill you with ease."

Konnor’s mind snapped with rage. He could handle being beaten, but he refused to be insulted to such a degree. "I’ll fucking kill you!"

A powerful blast of divine energy exploded in Zion’s face, obliterating anything and everything in its path.

"Ha...haha....hahahaha.....hahahahahahahaha....hahahahahahahahah! Take that, you heretic! You talked so big, yet you died a bastard’s death! You weren’t special after all! Lord Arion, did you see-" Something strong gripped his throat, stopping his speech.

"Agh, man, that was annoying. I’m usually the one busting things in people’s faces, not the other way around. Girls, though, not men." Zion gripped Konnor by the neck, holding him up off the ground as he gradually squeezed his throat, slowly cutting off his oxygen.

Konnor kicked, squirmed, and attacked Zion with everything he had, but nothing worked. He was too strong.

"Luminera told me that I reached the peak of what a mortal could achieve and would later obtain the power of a demigod. Honestly, after becoming this powerful, fighting people like you arent even interesting. I had my fun, so I’ll just kill you now."

In one final desperate attempt at winning, Konnor pleaded to Arion. ’My Lord, please! Please help me! Help me kill this bastard in your name! Help me restore your honor! I cannot die without fulfilling your will!’

Arion felt his Apostle’s love and devotion. He could feel how Konnor truly praised and worshiped him and would not let his most loyal follower die in vain.

’I hear you, my child. So please forgive me for what I’m about to do.’ With that, Arion’s voice became silent.

Luminera knew exactly what was happening and didn’t expect him to go to such lengths just to stop Zion right now.

"Zion! Kill Konnor now! If you don’t, Arion will-"

It was too late.

*BOOOOOOOOOM*

An explosion so great that it rivaled a nuke was set off in front of Zion. The explosion, however, wasn’t destructive or tangible. It didn’t harm him or anything around the area besides knocking things back from the immense power.

But that wasn’t the interesting part. Somehow, Konnor gained power, a lot more power than normal. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that he felt like a completely different person.

Then it clicked.

"You couldn’t live with watching your last hope fall, so you came here yourself, huh, Arion?" Zion said with a smirk as he looked at Konnor, who had Arion in his body.

His eyes glowed silver, his hair radiated a silver light, and his holy power was through the roof. The crack in his metal skin was repaired, and any injury that Konnor suffered was healed.

"It’s amazing, really. You, a mortal, declaring war against us gods. Luminera must be desperate if she-"

"If you don’t have anything interesting to say, then shut the fuck up." Zion interrupted, powering up to maximum. He activated both his Apostle forms, his runic body, body arts, and more. He used all of his power, even merging with Aryah and equipping his nano-tech suit. He was currently as powerful as he possibly could be.

Arion looked on at the sight and couldn’t help but be shocked. But still, as a god, he was confident in his own power. "Interesting."
