Blade of the Goddess-Chapter 211
Chapter 211: Chapter 211
Sitting in his own crater, Konnor couldn’t help but laugh. According to his knowledge, he was the strongest human currently alive, on top of being a Divine Apostle. Yet Zaleena Zagan, a woman from a neighboring land, somehow managed to step into the Mystic Stage and was currently stronger than he was. It was a humiliating yet exciting feeling for him.
"Interesting. You really caught me by surprise. To think a person who isn’t a dragon could step foot into the Mystic Stage. It’s fascinating, really." He exclaimed as he watched Zaleena hover above him.
"However, that’s all that it is. At the end of the day, I have a god by my side, and you, you’re nothing but the bitch who gave birth to a fool who’ll lose his life since he dared to destroy what belongs to my god!"
His appearance changed, his muscles bulging and energy changing. His hair turned silver, and his armor looked as if it merged into his body.
If it wasn’t obvious by the fact that his energy had skyrocketed, Konnor had become stronger, a lot stronger. He had activated his Apostle Form, and he now looked like a man made of silver, yet his charm remained.
Zaleena didn’t see the need to stop him from going all out as she thought it would make no difference. She would still be able to overpower him if needed, but she wasn’t worried in the slightest. At least, that was what she assumed.
"Do you know who Lord Arion is?" Konnor asked, cracking his neck as he looked up at her.
"The god of War and Speed." She replied
"And a few other minor things, but yes, he’s the god of War and Speed. So," The raging energy around him calmed, and his breath deepened. "How the fuck do you think you’ll be able to stop me?"
In an instant, he was behind Zaleena, striking her with his fists so hard that she too made a crater in the ground.
But that wasn’t enough as she got back up the moment she hit the ground, launching herself right back at him.
The two of them engaged in a brutal battle, one where Konnor showed her why he was the Apostle of Arion.
He moved gracefully, casually avoiding her strikes while counterattacking at the perfect moments.
Zaleena wasn’t only on the defensive, though. Using her experience and power, she was able to trade blows with Konnor, showing him the strength of someone who entered the Mystic Stage; however, that power would soon begin to wane against someone who was fueled by battle.
The longer they fought, the more she was pushed back, the more he would adapt.
In the air, Konnor lunged at Zaleena, his sword clashing against hers. He was quick, barely giving her a chance to counterattack.
Pushing Konnor off, she put distance between the two of them, but he was fast. Konnor caught her tactical retreat by hooking his foot around her neck, spinning her around, and kicking her back down to the ground.
The impact caused dust to rise in the air, but Zaleena never let down her guard.
Konnor came from behind, attempting to stab her in the back, but at the last moment, she swiftly dodged, parrying his sword and directing it into the ground.
He tried to pick it back up, but Zaleena stomped on the hilt, driving it deeper into the earth, hooking her own sword hilt on it as it, too, was lodged deep inside the ground.
Her hand pulsed with mana and holy power; the sheer pressure of it made the electrons in the air go wild, causing sparks of electricity.
She aimed for his chest, but Konnor grabbed her hand, locking his fingers in between hers.
He headbutted her, followed up with a knee to the stomach, then delivered a mean left hook to the face, knocking her into a nearby building.
Konnor chuckled. "This is the power of a Mystic Martial Artist? Honestly, I thought you would be more impressive."
He walked to where Zaleena had crashed, full of pride and arrogance. After feeling how strong she was, he wasn’t worried about her being a problem anymore.
Then, a golden ray of light flew by his face so fast that if it wasn’t for his blessing of speed from Arion, his head would have been taken off.
"Damn, I really thought that would work," Zaleena grumbled, standing up out of the rubble while all of her wounds healed.
Konnor was baffled. Not only did that attack almost kill him, but Zaleena was standing up as if he hadn’t just beat the crap out of her AND she was healing. "How in the hell is that possible? You’re healing, no, regenerating."
"This? Oh, you can thank my son for that. You know, the one you said is an idiot and that you plan on killing? You can also thank him for this."
Her power erupted like a volcano, scorching the ground beneath her. She activated her true power. Body arts, Runic Body, spirit merging, all of it. She held nothing back.
"I wanted to see how strong a Divine Apostle was. Well, one that would be stronger than my son, cause I could beat him with my eyes closed. I decided to take a beating from you, but honestly, I thought you would be a lot stronger. I guess it doesn’t matter, though. I’ll be getting serious now."
’Shit! How can energy so dense be coming off of one person?! That’s insane!’ Konnor felt fear rush down his spine, but he didn’t back down. He readied himself and prepared for the fight of his life.
"Aww, mom, you’re gonna make me cry." Zion laughed as he stood next to Zaleena, his arm wrapped around her shoulder.
’Huh? How the hell...’ Zaleena, who was now at her current strongest, was able to sense almost everything around her, even the tiniest of bugs crawling on the ground. But she couldn’t even sense Zion until he started speaking.
In fact, she heard him before sensing him.
It was an impossible feat to pull off.
’Unless he’s stronger than me!’ She thought to herself, staring at Zion in disbelief.
"Wait, you’re back." She finally came to.
"I am." He smiled. "Did you miss me?"
She didn’t even hesitate. "Yes. So did your Sisters and Aunt."
"I’m glad to know y’all care about me so much."
"Hey!" Konnor yelled. "Don’t fucking ignore me!"
Zion and Zaleena looked at him for a few seconds before returning to their own conversation.
This angered Konnor. He was the Divine Apostle of Arion, his voice, his messenger, his proxy. Yet the two of them casually ignored him and continued their conversation as if he weren’t there. He wouldn’t go for that.
"DON’T FUCKING IGNORE ME YOU HERETIC BASTARDS!"
He lunged at Zion, forming a spear in his hand that he threw at him with all his might.
Not even looking Konnor’s way, Zion casually swatted the spear away and delivered a punch so powerful that it cracked Konnor’s metallic skin as he was sent flying into the castle.
"Don’t worry about this, Mom. As a divine apostle myself, it’s only right I deal with this problem, right?"
Zaleena smiled. "As you wish. I’ll go help my sister."
"Yeah, you do that. I have a god to make angry right now."
