Chapter 155: Chapter 155

After gathering some of Lefyr’s blood, which was plenty of lying around, he ran toward the hallway to the left, only to be met by a dead end.

"What the fuck!"

[Use his blood. It’s probably a secret entrance only members of his family can use.]

"I knew that."

[Sure.]

Zion just splashed the blood onto the wall, hoping that would work. And funnily enough, it did.

A magic circle, similar to the ones that guarded the world tree saplings, appeared on the wall and made an unlocking sound. After it was unlocked, the wall cracked and dismantled itself, revealing a secret stairway that led deep underground.

"Let’s go!" He celebrated.

[You should bring Lefyr’s body to give to his family.]

"That doesn’t concern me."

[It will have their opinion on you increase.]

"Fine." So Zion went back, grabbed Lefyr’s body, and then ran down the stairs.

Five minutes passed.

15 minutes passed.

30 minutes passed.

An hour passed.

"How long are these fucking stairs?! Like what the fuck?! I’ve been running for a fucking hour!"

Aryah looked at the wall, pressing he hand up against it. Then she removed it, looking at her hand and examining it closely.

"Master, I think this is an illusion." She thought, rubbing her hand back on the wall to double-check.

Zion’s eye twitched. "I swear, if this is an illusion..."

Coating his hand with holy power, he swiped at the air, completely shattering the space they were in, revealing a large metal door with so much protection you’d think the world’s most dangerous criminal was being held there.

"I need to have sex. Without sex, I lose my touch on reality. There’s actually no way I got caught in a fucking illusion."

[I’m sending that to Lidia.]

"Don’t you fucking dare!"

[Sent.]

"You bitch!"

*Bang* *Bang* *Bang*

Aryah knocked on the door.

From behind the door, Orris, Aethon, their family members who managed to escape to this place, and a few guards and servants, all jolted up in surprise.

They all knew that unless you had the blood of the Inchels or were invited, no one would have been able to find this place.

So, fearing the worst, everyone capable of fighting, no matter how weak they were, readied themselves for combat.

"Father, they found us!" Aethon gritted his teeth. "That means...that means grandpa..." He couldn’t finish his words.

Orris, now with a fully regenerated arm, placed his hand on Aethon’s shoulder. "Stay strong, son. We won’t let Father’s sacrifice be in vain."

He turned to everyone who was gearing up to fight.

"Everyone, listen up! The people we’re about to face are strong, stronger than I’d like to admit. But together, we will survive and we will NOT falter. Protect the children and those who cannot defend themselves. The rest of you, with me!"

"For Lefyr!"

"For Lefyr!"

Back on Zion’s end, he was figuring out a way to open the door without stirring up any trouble, but then, the door opened on its own, and around 100 elves charged at him, yelling as if they had gone crazy.

"What the hell?!" Zion ducked, then dodged, moving out of the way as fast as he could.

"Wait!" He tried to explain, but no one listened.

He blocked, parried, and counted angry elves from all angles, trying his hardest not to harm anyone while still trying to explain himself.

"I’m not your enemy!" He sucked under a light spell aimed at his face.

"Stop!" He blocked a sword with his hand.

"I SAID STOP!" Now he was annoyed, and he entered his Apostle form, forcing the elves to halt.

"D-Divine Apostle Zion!" One of them recognized him.

"Yeah, that’s me. The fuck is wrong with you all?"

"W-We apologize, we didn’t expect you to be here." An elf bowed.

"And what are you doing here?" Aethon scoffed, his anger rising at the sight of Zion. "You aren’t welcome here!"

"Well, your dead fucking grandfather says otherwise." He gave the elves Lefyr’s body and explained the entire situation.

He also handed Orris the gemstone with their family crest on it.

"Thank you, and please excuse my son’s temper." Orris bowed

"Father! He’s the one who stole Valindra from me! Don’t be nice to him!"

"Shut up! Can’t you see he’s here to help? Don’t let your personal feelings get in the way of your duty!"

"Orris, what happened. I thought your home was well protected." Zion asked, wondering how they were completely blindsided.

Orris sighed, wondering the same thing. "We were taken off guard. After the attack two days ago, we increased our security to the point where a bug would question entering our estate. However, all of our defenses and preparations failed. It’s as if our enemies just walked into our home and started killing people."

"That is what happened, though."

"I know. But listen, our home is decked out with the best guards in the kingdom, even our servants and maids are powerful. We have thousands of magical traps, defenses, protection spells, and more to stop an intruder from intruding. And to top it all off, there is a Holy Barrier around our estate to ward off any and all demonic bastards. But even with all of that, they still walked into our home as if none of that was there." His voice cracked with frustration, and he had to take a seat from all the stress building up.

"A holy barrier?" Zion muttered under his breath. "I made one as well over the Holy City of Light. It serves the same function, warding off threats. No one is able to enter the city except for me."

Silence

"Except for me!" He said, his voice now rising.

"W-What is it?" Orris asked

"There’s no fucking way! There’s actually no fucking way!"

Orris asked again. "Apostle Zion, is there something wrong?"

"You said you have a holy barrier around your home, right? Who made that barrier?"

"Lady Nimreth, of course," Orris answered with no hesitation.

"Did you know that Divine Apostles can actively control who they consider a threat when setting up a holy barrier?" He asked, looking dead into his eyes.

"W-What do you mean?"

"If I set up a holy barrier around your home to protect you, I would set it up where it would ward off everyone who would be considered a threat. So why in the hell would the barrier around you home not work when you’re under attack by fucking demonic people? Either she sucks at her job or..."

"She’s working with them!" Orris concluded, his eyes widening with the realization.

"Told you, Master." Aryah giggled.

[Zion! Valindra and Melina are with them right now!]

"Fuck!"

"Master!" A call came from Zion’s men. "Everyone! All the Elders and Avisors are dead!"

"FUUUCKKKK!"
