Chapter 149: Chapter 149

"...ter...aster.....master...MASTER!" A voice shouted.

Zion shot up and looked around, a bit confused. "Did I pass out?" He asked, his body drenched in sweat.

"Yes, for three hours. Two young girls came to speak with you, but as you ordered, we didn’t let them pass. Look, they’re over there sitting down."

Zion looked to the spot where the elf pointed and spotted Valindra and Syrune sitting together on a log, making conversation. He chuckled as he thought about what one of his men had said. ’Only elves would call people being over 100 young.’

’Zion, quickly, check your power!’ Luminera ordered him.

Doing as she said, he checked his power. The power he possessed increased exponentially. Since he always cultivates with the intention of connecting his mana method to whatever he does, his holy power ended up having the same properties as his mana.

What this meant was that there was an energy field made of pure holy power, identical to his mana field. So he had a holy field now. Also, even though he only has three dantians, his holy power still matched that of his mana, which had twelve meridians.

Lastly, both energies in his body flowed in harmony, one not overtaking the other nor causing internal strife. Everything flowed perfectly.

"Amazing," Zion muttered under his breath. "My power has shot out significantly. However, I know it’s still not enough."

’Zion, wait. Think for a second. For the first time ever, you’ll be using holy power independently with no interference from mana. You also increased its power with your mana method. Test how strong you’ve become.’ Luminera suggested.

’Alright.’ And so he did. The moment he activated his holy power, his hand blew up. "Arghhh!! what the fuck!"

"Zion!" The girls shouted, rushing to his side. But again, they weren’t let through.

"What are you doing?! Let us through!" Syrune demanded

"You’re an elf and I’m your princess! I order you to let me pass!"

"Sorry, princess, but my master is Zion, and I only serve him." One of Zion’s men said in a firm tone.

’Luminera, what the fuck happened?!’

’Hehe, holy power is a stronger energy than mana. It’s also boosted by faith and the god you serve. My power has gotten stronger because I have people praying to me once again, which means I can give you more power. But holy power can also be cultivated to make it stronger as well. You never felt the effects of the increased strength because your body needed to replace your mana with holy power. However, since that’s no longer needed, your holy power is now as strong as my followers’ faith and current power, as well as your mana method.’

’So I’m fucking op that’s what you’re saying right now.’

’Well, no, you’re not overpowered. But if you do fight someone with infernal energy, it shouldn’t be a problem anymore.’

’But infernal energy is stronger than holy power.’

’It is, but it’s still a weaker variant when beings other than devils use it.’

Zion nodded. ’I see.’ His arm fully grew back, and he waved his people away, watching as they vanished into the shadows.

"Zion!" Syrune and Valindra hugged him, also kissing him on the lips.

"Zion, what’s going on? Why were you so rude yesterday?" Valindra asked

"There’s something that...Wait, yesterday?" He asked

Syrune nodded. "Yeah, you’ve been sitting there for an entire day and passed out about three hours ago."

"What the fuck? I was cultivating for that long? Damn. Well, has anything interesting happened in the meantime?"

"No, everything has been quiet. Aethor’s family has summoned me to speak about our situation, but I kept declining, hehe. Oh, and my mother asked me to see if everything was alright with you."

Zion sighed deeply, not knowing what he should say. He liked them so wanted to tell them the truth, but in all honesty, his mission was more important and he wouldn’t hesitate to drop them if they didn’t conform to his beliefs.

"I’m fine. And I was telling the truth when I said I don’t care about the sapling. There are more important things I have to worry about." He turned to the world tree, an idea sparking in his head. "Such as saving the world tree."

The girls nodded. "The world tree is important."

"Oh, question." He turned back to the girls. "Do any of you know how to summon a spirit?"

---

Zion was back in the lotus position, meditating while Syrune and Valindra guided him through the process of calling upon a spirit.

"Spirits don’t answer to your calls, they come when they want," Valindra said, walking around Zion.

"You need to appeal to them, make them think you’re interesting and appealing. The more they are intrigued by your presence, the likelier they’ll want to form a contract with you." Syrune added, walking around Zion in the opposite direction from Valindra.

"What about primal spirits?" He asked

"Good question, but don’t worry. Everything we’re telling you applies to all spirits, even spirit kings." Valindra answered

"You must call out to nature, and nature must answer your call. Then, and only then, will a spirit come if they’re interested.

So, he did what they said. He aligned his mana with nature, allowing it to flow wherever the wind took it. But that’s not all, he also added his holy power because surely they would be interested in a Divine Apostle, right?

He didn’t know, but it wouldn’t hurt to try.

Zion sat there for hours, waiting for a spirit to come. He didn’t care what type it was. Primal, fairy, nymph, it didn’t matter. He just wanted one so he could understand them and gain more power.

After a bit more waiting, he felt something latch onto his mana. He instantly got excited, but didn’t show it as he didn’t want to scare the spirit off. He let it ride his mana until it reached his body.

"Look, Syrune, it’s a primal wind spirit." Valindra smiled, seeing the small glowing dot hovering around Zion’s shoulders.

Then another one came, also a primal spirit. This time, it was a water one.

"Wow, impressive. Two spirits are interested in you." Syrine nodded, acknowledging the rare sight for someone’s first time.

But then something unexpected happened. Another one came, then another and another, until a total of nine primal spirits danced around Zion’s head.

Syrune and Valindra looked at each other in disbelief. "What the fuck?!"
