[BL]The Hero and his Party Won't Let Me Go-Chapter 221: Ch : Rin’s manifestation
Shuu had a decision to make, and in the end, his body unconsciously made the decision and he turned around to walk toward the room.
"Y-You suicidal maniac-! Stop-!"
Sasha called out to him one last time, and Shuu gave her an almost sorry look before he grabbed the door in front of him and opened it.
"I am sorry, but Rin needs me. I will be fine...I think..."
After all, Shuu did not feel the same panic Sasha was feeling at the moment. That likely meant that Rin had no intention of harming Shuu. At least, not yet.
So Shuu opened the door, and he immediately felt hands grabbing at him and pulling him inside. The door was locked shut behind him, and Shuu was pressed against the wall behind him.
The sudden shove hurt, and the wall felt uncomfortable against Shuu’s back, but it was nothing compared to having a body try to squeeze itself between his arms and seek comfort.
Rin’s brown eyes looked up at Shuu with need and pain. He seemed to be going through something, but he was not able to tell Shuu anything about it.
Shuu placed his hand on Rin’s back and slowly stroked it. He felt his energy leaving his body and rushing toward Rin to help him calm down and stabilize.
The more Shuu did this, the calmer Rin became until he stopped shaking and was able to pull back and take a deep breath on his own.
Only then did Shuu pull back and allow Rin to move away as well.
Most kids would have been embarrassed by their behavior, but Rin did not even have a hint of a flush on his face. Instead, he looked worried and bit his lips.
"Shuu... alright?"
Rin’s voice was worried, but compared to how he usually sounded, it was much clearer and had focus behind it.
"I am fine. What about you? What do you remember? Do you feel pain or discomfort anywhere?"
Shuu asked the younger one, and Rin shook his head.
"I’m fine... no longer hurts... but my body... feels weird..."
Rin furrowed his brows as he considered what he should say next. Due to his mental age, his vocabulary was limited as well, and he was not able to communicate as clearly as other people.
But he was still trying and speaking up about how he was feeling.
Unfortunately, Shuu did not have much information about this situation to be able to help him out.
"I see. So it feels weird and it hurts? What else?"
Rin shook his head, contradicting his own words from before. His eyes looked at Shuu in confusion and irritation.
"It doesn’t hurt anymore. I like it when you touch me. But it also feels weird..."
Rin’s words were becoming clearer by the second. He was working hard to convey how he felt at the moment.
Shuu felt proud of the kid, but at the same time, he did not want Rin to push himself this hard, especially when he was just as confused as Shuu was.
"Alright, that’s enough thinking for today. Here, you should eat something first before we discuss what we can do next."
Shuu presented the plate of food he had brought, and Rin devoured the food. He was not a picky eater and was finished before Shuu could ask him whether he had even looked at it or not.
Once Rin was done, Shuu decided to grab the plate and take it to the empty table. But Rin immediately grabbed Shuu to stop him from moving.
"No. Don’t go. It hurts when you are not here. Stay with me..."
Rin complained, and Shuu nodded and settled beside him.
Since the air had turned back to normal, Shuu was sure that Sasha would recover soon as well. And his hunch turned out to be right because Sasha slammed open the door to his room soon after and entered as well.
Her eyes gave Rin a worried look, and she quickly walked over to him before grabbing his face.
Rin shied away from her and tried to hide behind Shuu, but it was of no use. Sasha was faster than Rin’s sluggish reflexes, and she managed to turn his face toward her.
She flinched as soon as Rin met her eyes, and then she looked at Shuu and sighed.
"This is not good. This kid has manifested into a high-class esper. From the force of his power to the way he is behaving, I won’t be surprised if he’s at least B-class. He might even be A-class, and his body is not able to handle his power. It could be in danger if he stays here."
Sasha declared, and Shuu was inclined to believe her. He already did not have any idea about this world, so he had no way to question Sasha’s knowledge either.
"What should you suggest I do about this? Should I tell Boss Honda about this-"
"Don’t-! He would have the kid killed before you are even able to plead for his life. Boss Honda is a despicable person who is unwilling to share his power. He would never allow another esper to live in the same space as him. And your... brother... is also too young to survive this harsh world. The best you can do currently is hide that he’s an esper."
Shuu nodded as he took note of what he needed to do now.
Rin’s face looked flushed, almost as if he had a fever, and his eyes were glazed over. Anyone could tell that the kid was not feeling well at the moment.
Sasha’s gaze was filled with pity as she looked toward Rin. Rin recoiled from the look in her eyes, but she quickly retracted her gaze and decided to focus on Shuu instead. She did not want to feel even more guilty about Rin’s situation.
"I admit that it is not going to be easy to hide an esper, but hopefully no one will catch on before you find a way to get Rin out of here."
