Chapter 347: 347: Your Husbands

Adrian was quiet for a while as they stared at Eden.

"See, I know you’re worried about your husbands and want to go save them as soon as possible, but don’t you think it’s risky?"

Adrian added, "I mean, for him to make such a plan, it’s obvious that he has already made extreme preparations to trap you. So going there is extremely risky, because you might end up harmed." He seemed worried.

Eden stared at him, blinking. "Husbands?" That was the word that stood out to him the most.

Adrian raised an eyebrow. "Isn’t that obvious? You have three husbands. Them, and then me."

Eden blinked. "I don’t remember getting married, though..."

"That isn’t necessary now. We can do it later if you’re desperate for it." Adrian was pretty open and raw with his words, and Eden was shocked.

"That’s not what I mean..."

Adrian interrupted. "Besides, it’s obvious you like the two princes enough, so I’ll cut them some slack and care about them because you like them. And you’re mine, too. So I’ll care about people my husband likes."

Adrian was pretty open, and Eden grew more shocked. "Wait, wait—when did all this happen? I don’t remember having you as a husband?"

Adrian smirked. "You don’t? That steamy night said otherwise, though..."

"Hey..." Eden’s cheeks flushed at his words as he stared at Helen, who was just watching them. He looked back at Adrian. "Shut up..."

Adrian smiled. "Sure. But at least the fact of me officially being your husband is established. So now, to the main issue."

Eden didn’t think he could rebuke the words of the already enthusiastic Adrian, who had made up his mind. And strangely, he didn’t wish to do so, either.

"My point is..." Adrian continued, "It’s dangerous for you to go."

Helen nodded. "I also think so. You should think more about it before going. At least let’s come up with some plans in case something goes wrong."

Eden slowly nodded. "I guess so. So let’s come up with something quick, then. Because I’ll be paying the Emperor a grand visit tonight. He should know better than to mess with my people."

The Emperor sat on his bed, a glass of wine in his hand as he glared down at Mr. Albert, who knelt before him, his head down.

He said nothing for some time. He simply glared down at the pathetic figure before him.

After a while, he sighed. "I don’t even know what to do with you at this point. I don’t even know how to face you, because I don’t know what to say to a useless bastard like you..." His voice was calm, but the fury in his tone was obvious.

"Sorry... I’m so sorry for failing to execute it... I’m so sorry... please forgive me..." Mr. Albert said. He had been apologizing for ages now, and the Emperor didn’t seem to care.

"Saying those worthless words won’t change anything. It will never change the fact that everything fell flat!" He finally snapped, throwing the cup to the ground. It broke, and the sound filled the room.

Silence. Mr. Albert didn’t have any words left.

The Emperor glared down at him, his chin up. "Maybe if I took your son as compensation... then that would work out, right?"

Mr. Albert panicked as he looked up. "Please don’t... not my son... please. I’ll do something else. I’ll find a way to fix this. I’ll get more people and take their souls by killing them. I’ll do anything... just please leave my son... please..."

The Emperor glared at him. He felt a sense of satisfaction seeing the panic on his face. He always felt it. After years of having him under his clutch, he had lived on the joy and satisfaction of watching him tremble before him.

It was his dream come true.

The Emperor sighed as he stared at his fingers. "But I guess I won’t act now. Because something better happened thanks to your stupid failure. The Wizard of EL appeared," he smiled as he stared down at Mr. Albert.

He continued, "Because of your silly tricks, we were able to learn that he’s around. And I also caught his two favorite people. I’m sure by now he has seen the news and is on his way here. We’ll have to take that chance and capture him once and for all when he comes."

He stared at Mr. Albert. "I hope you’ve prepared everything. Make sure everything is set and in order. I don’t want any mistakes at all this time. Because if you mess this up... you’ll leave me no choice but to use your dear son to make up for it."

"Don’t worry. I’ve already prepared everything and gone over it. I’m more than sure it’ll work out... we’ll be able to capture the Wizard of EL this time around," he assured.

The Emperor scoffed. "That better be the case. I’ve been waiting for so long that I’m already tired. I hope I get my hands on him this time around..." He smiled while staring into thin air.

After a while, he sighed. "He should be here. Why the hell is the wizard not here already?" He was getting impatient.

"I think he’ll be here soon. Let’s wait some more. He’ll be here for sure," Mr. Albert assured him, as if he knew the whereabouts of the Wizard.

He was just saying anything to save his own skin.

The Emperor nodded with a sigh as he stared at the golden ring on his finger. He smiled. "Then I hope so. I’m sick and tired of waiting."

He got to his feet. "But for the meantime, let’s go pay the two princes another visit in their personalized prison. I’d like to see how well they’re coping there," he said with a smile while walking out of his bedroom.

"Yes," Mr. Albert simply replied as he frantically got to his feet and followed the Emperor out immediately.
