[BL] Seducing Male Leads To Survive As A Villain In A Novel-Chapter 329: A Helping Hand.
Leo smiled as he placed both hands behind him. "I’ll keep that in mind, then. But right now, you shouldn’t worry about me—worry about the competition you accepted. You don’t know anything about military ways. So you’re most likely going to lose."
"I’m a wizard; I’ll figure it out," Eden insisted.
"Is that so? So you’ll use magic?"
Eden smiled. "Of course. Those brats are said never to play fair, so why should I?"
Leo slowly nodded while staring at him.
"Besides," Eden stared in his direction, "why are you even bothered about me? The last time I recalled, we weren’t even that close."
Leo kept both hands behind him while staring at Eden. He was quiet for a while before he spoke. "Let’s just say it’s my way of being grateful. My way of thanking you for your help."
They were quiet, staring at each other, before Eden smiled.
"That’s cute," he shook his head. "Too bad that I won’t be needing your help anymore." He stared at him. "So you can just thank me by not bothering me during classes. That will go a long way."
Eden didn’t need him anymore, though. He didn’t seem to need the male leads at this point. At first, he had needed them mainly for the protection they’d give him against all who wanted him dead. But now, he could protect himself.
He was pretty much more powerful than all of them combined, and more. So he didn’t really need them anymore.
"So..." Eden said, "if there’s nothing else, I’ll be leaving. Thanks for your concern, though." He winked at Leo as he turned to leave.
But Leo pulled him by the hand, stopping him. 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Eden stared at the hand that held him and looked up. "What is it? Is there something else?"
"You were so enthusiastic the last time we met. You were desperate to get me to your side that you coaxed me in every way possible. And now you suddenly don’t want me again. What tricks are you playing now?"
Eden smiled. "Why?" he asked as he ran a finger along his cheek. "Are you sad that I don’t want you anymore?"
"I’m just curious to know what runs through your mind," Leo said. "I can’t seem to understand it."
Eden smiled as he stood on his toes, leaning closer to meet his face.
Their breath met. Eden could sense the panic in Leo’s expression as he stared into his eyes. Gay panic.
Eden smiled. "If you’re that curious to know what runs through my mind, you should consider sleeping with me. You’ll learn a lot."
Leo stared at him. "Shameless."
Eden stepped backwards. "I don’t have time to waste on you anymore. I guess I got bored."
"But I’m still pretty useful to you at the moment. So how can you get bored?" Leo raised an eyebrow.
"How useful? Can you warm my bed for me, then?" Eden raised an eyebrow. He could see the panic reaction from Leo, and he enjoyed that. His panicked expression.
"If not, then you’re useless."
"I can help you win," Leo said, both hands still behind him. "That’s how useful I can be."
Eden stared at him. "Help me win?"
"Yes. Even if you wish to use magic, you can’t explicitly do so before everyone. At least you need to know the basics—like holding a bow, using a weapon, or riding a horse for a race. Things like that. You need to get the basics before you apply magic to make it efficient, don’t you think?"
Eden said nothing. He stood there, listening.
"So let me teach you how to win with the basics."
Eden asked, "Why? Why do you want to help me?"
"Like I said, my way of thanking you," he repeated.
Eden was quiet for a while, staring at him as though trying to read through him. After a while, he said, "Then let’s keep it professional. When do we start the lessons?" He folded his arms.
"As soon as you’re ready. But since you don’t have much time left, the earlier the better," Leo advised.
"Okay, then. Tomorrow it is," Eden said as he turned to leave. "See you then."
---
They began their lessons the next day.
The two of them met in the garden over the next few days and practiced.
Leo taught Eden the art of archery—teaching him how to hold an arrow and make efficient use of it. Even with the basics, he taught him how to strike the bullseye easily with some tricks from the books.
He taught him how to be one with the bow and arrow, and how to never miss a shot. He taught him how to make sure two or even three arrows could hit the bullseye.
Eden fumbled at first but soon got a hang of it, though he still made errors.
They studied horse riding. Eden knew he could ride a horse, but Leo taught him more than that. He taught him how to skillfully control a horse while in a race.
They practiced with Lenny, who turned into a horse, and soon Eden had already gotten a grasp of what Leo was teaching. He had understood the theory of using a horse efficiently in a race to win.
Next, they proceeded with studying the arts of physical fighting. Leo didn’t waste much time here, since Eden was good in this area—he had acquired the skills after regaining the powers of the Wizard of EL and all.
They practiced how to fight physically with skill, and then with weapons, since the final round of the competition would involve both.
Leo taught him all the skills he had learned from the books, and then had him study and perfect the basics—at least enough to infuse magic into them without making it obvious to the audience.
They practiced for days, Leo helping Eden hone the basic required skills. And before long, it was already D-day.
The day of the awaited competition.
