Chapter 293: 293: The Wizard’s Tale IV

The old man stared at him. "What has been done has been done. He won’t die. At least not anytime soon. You have blocked off his fate of death for the moment and cured him, but at what cost? You have made a monster from hell."

Mr. Albert trembled. "What... what does that mean?" he demanded.

"You have inputted a monster into your son. The spirit you invited into him to save him from his fate is different from his mortal nature. It is a fight inside of him. A fight for himself and one of the devils that wants to take over him."

"It will always be like this. He will be a vessel of the dark one. A devil. But if he isn’t trained well, he’ll just be a monster who destroys."

Mr. Albert panicked. "No, please help me do something. Stop this. Save my son. Save him..." the man pleaded on his knees.

He begged the old man to save his son. Begged him to save him from turning into a monster. To save him from this fate.

"I spoke of a consequence," the old man said. "And this is part of it."

"Part of it?" Mr. Albert was scared.

"Fate works in mysterious ways," the old man explained. "Sometimes even we can’t do anything about it."

But the man pleaded to him for days, going and coming back to beg, before the old man finally sighed.

"You’ve come to me for over a week now," the old man sighed. "I’ve already said that I won’t go further than I have with helping you. That I won’t make the mess worse than it is... but I guess you’re that stubborn and pitiful."

And so the man told him what to do. "The only way to reverse his monstrous state without losing him to death is to find a pure soul. A pure spirit and then partially merge their souls together."

Mr. Albert listened as he explained to him what he needed to do.

He explained to him how he needed to merge the soul of his son with a pure young soul and then use some magical arts to drive the demon essence into the pure soul.

"...a pure soul is the only vessel the demon essence would want to move into at this moment. And it is the only way you could wash your son free from it."

"Because since you can’t eradicate this demon forever, bind your son’s soul to someone else. And then have it move into another space. Just like moving into a new room in the same house. Your son will be okay, but the pure soul will suffer forever with the devil you have summoned in the first place."

He stared at Mr. Albert. "Are you up for that? To sacrifice an innocent soul for your son?"

Mr. Albert thought about it for a while and then nodded. "Yes. I’ve already gone down the hole. I’ve already journeyed down the paths of hell at this point; there’s no redemption for me. So why turn back?"

Mr. Albert laughed hysterically in tears as he said, "I’ll do it. Anything. Just guide me."

The old man nodded with a sigh as he told him what to do. And at the end of it, he reminded him.

"This process would take years or so. But at the end, make sure you wipe off your son’s memory. Him not recalling anything about the cave or your acts of healing him will make it effective. Because he will be a new person. But if he does remember, it might all start going downhill for him too."

"And..." the man continued, "When you’re done, take your son away from the other soul. Don’t let these two souls meet or stay together. Although it shall intensify or spark demonic powers amongst them, it shall be harmful to your son."

Mr. Albert took all these warnings from the old man and headed home to execute them all.

As he left, the old man sighed as he stared at the river.

"Life is inevitable, and so is death. The two sit on the peak of soul mountain and dance a hymn of the underworld. They sip from the river of oblivion and eat from the table of chaos. But at the end of the nine pillars of hell, who shall truly meet the king of the Netherworld?"

The old man sighed.

Mr. Albert didn’t hesitate and immediately began the process of redeeming his son as soon as he learned that Lyeian was, in fact, still a pure soul.

"Lyeian, I want you to help father with something. Your brother is sick, and I want you to help me treat him."

"Sure, I’m more than happy to help, father," Lyeian jovially agreed.

And so Mr. Albert began taking Lyeian to the room where his son was.

"Who is this?" Lyeian asked the first time he saw the boy who lay there unconscious.

"That’s my son. Your second elder brother," he explained. "He’s sick, and I need your help with him."

"Don’t worry, I’ll do my best. Just tell me what to do."

Mr. Albert began implementing all the black magic tricks he had read from the book, according to the old man’s instructions.

And he began creating medications to give to Lyeian and his son. And he began using some spells for the two of them while he left the two of them in the same room.

He created a little pond outside and had magically filled it up with water. Magical water. And he always dipped the two boys into the water at the same time while he conducted his spells. The spells to merge the two souls together.

And he did so with Kyle’s assistance, who obediently complied.

Mr. Albert had brought his son and Lyeian close to form a bond of friendship. He left them together in the secret room most of the time to speak and asked them to be friends.

Because the bond of friendship is needed for the soul bonding to be complete. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎

And so the two kids were left there most of the time.

"What’s your name?" Lyeian had asked one of the times they were left together. Lysander was quiet and seemingly introverted, so he took the initiative.

But the kid replied nevertheless. "Lysander. My name’s Lysander."
