[BL] Seducing Male Leads To Survive As A Villain In A Novel-Chapter 270: Your Help
Queen Elizabeth let out a soft smile as she said, "Is that so?"
"I can help you if you want," Eden said. "I can help you save yourself and your son," he offered.
Queen Elizabeth stared at him. "You freely told me about your alliance with the Grand Duke because you already knew I’d speak, right?"
She added, "You already knew I called you here to discuss something. Something more than just asking you why you told my son or why you’re interfering. And that’s why you told me about something from my past. To give me more reasons to open up to you."
She scoffed. "How smart of you. You’re really worthy of the reputation."
Eden did know. He knew Queen Elizabeth wanted to discuss something important with him. Something grand. And that’s probably why they were in a secretive room.
And he came prepared, hoping to get her to agree to his request to save himself and his son from the grasp of King Edward.
"It would have been better if you were evil," she said, staring at the books on the shelf at the side. "It would have been better if you were the monster they said you were." 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
She added, "Honestly, I was somewhat excited when I heard you would be staying with us at the palace," she opened up. "And when you came, I was paying attention to you. But I was disappointed."
"You weren’t evil. You weren’t the devil I hoped you’d be. You were different from the devil they spoke about. The devil I was looking forward to meeting."
Eden was confused. He never expected such words from her. And now he stared at her, wondering what she was getting to with those words.
She smiled as she said, "All my years, I have lost hope in meeting the gods. They wouldn’t understand me. They wouldn’t listen. My only hope was meeting the devil. He’d listen. He’d understand. He’d know how a woman who got caged in her own paradise, had her wings cut off and left to die every day her mind feels. He’d know how a woman whose painting of heavens became hell feels. He’d know how a mother who had to watch her son die every day since young without being able to help feels. He’d know..."
She gasped, a lump in her throat as she tried not to get too emotional. She smiled as she said, "I was waiting to meet the devil. Maybe he’d help."
"So you thought I’d help you burn them down. Destroy everything about them."
She smiled. "I would lay down my life to watch it happen. And I was ready to..." she smiled. "And still am..."
She stared at him now. She took a deep breath in and out and then said, "I just want you to help me with one thing. One single thing."
Eden stared at her; he was scared to ask, but he did anyway. "What?"
"Take my son away."
Silence. Eden stared at her. "Take him away..?"
She smiled. "The engagement banquet happening soon is a medium to end you. I’m sure you know about that since you’re the wizard. The engagement was never going to end happily. It was bound to end in bloodshed."
She stared at him. "So all I ask of you is when everything starts unfolding, save my son. Take him away and disappear far away. Take him far away where they can’t find him. Where the king can’t harm him. Take him and keep him safe there until everything dies down..."
Eden had a bad feeling about all this. He could tell something else was going to happen there. He felt she was about to do something crazy there. But he didn’t know what it could be.
"What are you planning on doing?" he asked. "What plans do you have for that day..?"
She stared into thin air and smiled softly. "I’m doing what I’ve planned to do for ages. Stepping out of my comfort zone. Isn’t that what you wanted me to do?"
He stared at her, horrified. "What...." Endless horrible thoughts rushed through his mind.
"I think it’s time I bring an end to all this madness," she sighed. "I’ve been quiet for way too long. It’s time I tear down this empire. Don’t you think so? It’s been too peaceful."
He stared at her. "You...." And for some reason, everything started clicking. "How long have you been.. planning all this? You... You’ve not been silent all this while because you don’t want trouble...?"
"They say revenge is a dish best served cold. I wonder how true that is," she smiled.
Eden gasped; he was too stunned to speak. He never saw any of this coming. All this while he thought Queen Elizabeth was the quiet Queen trampled upon. One who was quiet because she couldn’t take down the power of those who looked down on her. One who wanted peace.
That was how the novel had written her to be.
But now he realized that it was the opposite. All this while, Queen Elizabeth had been plotting in secret. She had been quiet, not because she couldn’t do anything, but because she knew what she wanted to do. And she was doing it quietly.
He scoffed. "I guess I underestimated the mastermind all this while. How dumb of me."
"Protect my son. That’s all I ask of you. Don’t get him involved. Just take him away on that day. That’s the favour I ask of you. I beg of you. Please do it for me."
Eden folded his arms. "You don’t have to even ask me. I’ll do it. But..." He hesitated. "What about you? Are you going to be okay?"
She smiled as she got up to her feet. "I’ve been plotting this for years. Ever since he cut my wings, ever since he tried pinning me down, I’ve been planning this.. I’ve been planning his end."
She stared at Eden. "So why won’t I be okay in a game I’ve created?"
