[BL] Seducing Male Leads To Survive As A Villain In A Novel-Chapter 269: You’re Different
Queen Elizabeth and Eden met in a secluded room in the palace. A room where no one could find out that they met.
Queen Elizabeth was already waiting inside, sitting down with her Lady-in-waiting standing at her side, when Eden walked in in the company of the Queen’s maid.
"I wonder why the Queen wishes to meet me in secret," Eden said as soon as he met her. "To what do I owe this meeting?"
Queen Elizabeth stared at him. "You told my son, didn’t you?"
Eden hesitated and then figured out what she was talking about. He didn’t respond as she said, "I told you to mind your business...you should have done that. You shouldn’t have tried getting involved in any way... you shouldn’t even have gotten him involved."
Eden sighed. "Well, too bad I couldn’t do that. I’m terrible at minding my business in situations like this. So I apologise that I couldn’t hold myself back."
He added, "Besides, he had the right to know. He’s your son. And he had also suffered dearly from this. So it’s only right he knows."
Queen Elizabeth sighed. "I just can’t understand you..." She stared at him. "I can’t understand what your motives are at all. What the hell do you want from all these..?"
Eden had both hands behind him while staring at the Queen. He smiled. "You don’t have to try understanding me, My Queen. It helps in no way."
He added, "It’s only a human response to want to help out in such a situation and do something. View it like that and you’ll probably know peace."
Queen Elizabeth sighed, she let out a soft scoff. "They say the wizard of EL is vicious. Scheming, calculative and everything manipulative. That was the picture I had of you."
"So when the wizard of EL had himself researching every detail about me. Tracing the history of the Royal family and its relationships... How am I supposed to take it lightly?"
She stared at him. "It’s a bit naive to think you did all that to help me."
Eden slowly nodded. "A fair argument." He smiled. "Well that’s an easy exam question. Because I didn’t do it to help you."
They stared at each other. Eden continued, "I did it for The Grand Duke."
Silence. The Queen stared at him as he smiled. She tried reading through him.
"You know him. So let’s not act shocked now. And you must know that he is still out to get revenge for his dear parents. Who are your friends." Eden stared at her. "You know the whole story too well. More than I could. I was just helping the poor boy get information."
She stared at him. "And why are you helping him dig for information?"
"Easy. So he doesn’t kill me. It’s a simple deal. I get information from him, he doesn’t end my fear life. A logical deal, right?" He smiled, both arms folded.
Queen Elizabeth still stared at him, skeptical. "You’re the wizard of EL. You don’t need anyone to not kill you. No one can. So why are you scared of him? Why do you need him not to kill you?"
He smiled. "Don’t underestimate a son who lost both parents unjustly in the hands of power hungry monsters. He can take down anyone for his revenge, even the devil." he stared at her with a serious expression.
"And besides," Eden added, now smiling, "He deserves to know the truth, don’t you think so? He lost his parents unjustly. Fell under the control of those behind his tragedy. Doesn’t he deserve the truth at least?"
She was quiet, staring at him.
Eden added, "They were your friends too. So you should at least want that for their son. Isn’t that so?"
Queen Elizabeth sighed as she said, "Who would have thought the wizard of EL would go through so much trouble just to get justice for someone. Doesn’t that counterfeit all the stories about you?"
"But I never told such stories myself. Y’all made it up. So I’m not to blame, am I?" Eden raised an eyebrow.
They were quiet for a while as they stared at each other, as though trying to read through one another.
"So did you tell him?" She asked. "What you found out? The grand duke."
Eden sighed. "No. I haven’t told him yet." He placed both hands behind him. "But I probably will. And when I do, you should expect some sort of dramatic shift in the air. He won’t sit back."
He added, "So before then, I advise you do something. I advise you find a way to disassociate yourself from the king or something. And save Elvis from the mess too if possible..."
Queen Elizabeth stared at him. "So you took pity on me and my son, and decided to help us? That’s still interesting." she scoffed. "But why us..? Why him?"
Eden smiled. "No concrete reason. I just felt bad probably. I don’t think anyone deserves such." he had Elvis in mind as he spoke.
And Queen Elizabeth could see through his eyes. "Maybe the rumours are true after all."
He stared at her, "What rumours?"
"That you like my son. And that the two of you like each other."
Eden hesitated. "You’re overestimating your son. What makes you think that a great wizard like me would settle for someone like him..."
Queen Elizabeth seemed to brush it off. She had already concluded in her mind regardless of Eden’s act of denial. "Even a maid can see that," She muttered to herself.
"...."
Eden heard her and stood there, speechless.
Queen Elizabeth sighed as she said, "I suppose it’s good." she smiled. "That at least someone cares for him. That someone gives him the love he never got from someone like me. I guess it’s good."
Eden stared at her, watching her speak.
"I was never the perfect mother for him. I was terrible, wasn’t I?" She scoffed, staring into thin air.
"It was never your fault," He said. "You were trying to protect him. The King’s to blame." he hesitated and then added, "But it’s never too late to act. It’s never too late to break free from him and protect your son even better."
