Chapter 266: 266: End this madness

The fight was still on. Adrian and Elvis fighting off the soldiers even though they had gotten bruised.

They were bleeding now from the injuries they obtained in the fight, but they still fought as though there was no tomorrow.

"Are you okay?" Eden went down on his knees beside Lysander, pulling his head up while trying to wake him up. "Are you okay....?"

Lysander was still breathing. He coughed, blood on his lips as he panted. His eyes weren’t open in the moment; he was clearly staggering between consciousness and unconsciousness.

"Wake up.." Eden said, worried. "You have to wake up..."

He tapped Lysander but he was still not fully awake. Eden tried using his powers to heal him, but he wasn’t aware of the fact that something else was cooking.

The great priest of Elzager had staggered up to his feet. He moved slowly towards Eden who was busy with Lysander.

Fury in his eyes, he smirked as he stared at Eden from a distance. "You..." He muttered as he raised his hands.

Green smoke hovered over his hand as a green pearl appeared in his palm. He stared at Eden as he said, "You should die too.."

He walked up to Eden from behind. And before Eden could even know what was happening, the priest pushed the pearl at him from behind.

The green pearl hit Eden at his back and immediately, he felt a wild rush of energy through him.

It was a fatal blow within, and he felt something shattering. Pain engulfed him in that moment as blood dripped from his lips.

But his body retaliated with a counter-attack that hurt him even more. His body let out a massive purple wave that blasted the pearl off him.

The pearl shattered into a million pieces in the air, mixing with the purple wave in something massive that filled the room.

The wave blew everything around Eden to the side. Tables and objects were blown and shattered to the side. People were blown off to the side, most smashing themselves against something.

The great priest of Elzager flew off and hit himself against the wall and fell down, unconscious.

The king and Queen struggled to keep their stand with the guards protecting them from any harm. Same with Princess Cordelia.

As soon as the wave passed, Adrian and Elvis immediately got up to their feet. The soldiers too were getting up, so the fight was still not over.

But Elvis turned back at Eden, only to see him on his knees.

His back was soaked with blood and his mouth was bleeding. He looked pale, like one who had lost a lot of energy in that moment. Like one who was going to die in that moment.

Elvis gasped. Without a second thought, he dropped his sword and rushed towards Eden. He quickly went down on his knees and caught him before he even fell backwards.

"Eden..." Elvis said, his voice soft and fragile. It was his first time officially calling that name. One he had heard Lysander call him. One he had always wanted to call him.

He stared at Eden who was in his arms, battered and bruised. But he was still conscious. Eden stared at him, his face pale and bruised.

"Are you okay...?" Elvis gasped. "You should be awake. Don’t sleep now. Don’t... Don’t sleep.."

Eden said nothing. He still had his eyes on him as he slowly brought his fingers to meet Elvis’s face, running his bloody hands on his face.

"It’s your wedding..." Eden managed to say in a gasp. "You shouldn’t do this..."

"I’m not getting married anymore," Elvis said. "I don’t want to get married. I want to take you away. I’ll take you away from here.. take you to a safe place.. far away... So don’t.. sleep."

Elvis’s expression was filled with worry and anyone could read it. He was anxious that he’d lose Eden, and he was clearly scared of that happening.

At that moment, Eden could only stare at him without saying anything.

King Edward stared at the scene. "You useless soldiers! Get up and take them down now!"

He stared at Eden and Elvis. "Go and kill that wizard and his treasonous partner!" he instructed without hesitation.

And the soldiers began getting up to their feet to attack while Elvis and Eden were down and outnumbered. Adrian wanted to fight them off, but it was most likely that he couldn’t do anything.

They were highly outnumbered. And it was unlikely that they’d win this battle at all.

Thus the king was pleased. That at least he had a high chance of winning this and ending those whom he’d always want to get out of his way.

But at that moment, Queen Elizabeth immediately rushed into the room. "Stop this madness!" She snapped. And all stopped fighting.

They all turned to stare at Queen Elizabeth who walked up to the King. Queen Elizabeth turned and stared at her son. She gasped.

"What are you doing...?" She stared at the King.

"Ending the lives of those rebelling against the kingdom," King Edward said firmly. "So stay away from this woman else you’ll be killed too."

Queen Elizabeth scoffed. Speechless. She felt her body weakened as her lips curled into a smile. One of disbelief.

"That’s your son... You can’t kill your son like that..." she stared at him. "You can’t kill MY son like that."

"Whose son? That ungrateful bastard has been disowned by me the moment he took sides with that wizard and questioned my upbringing," He said. "So now he’ll have to die.".

"Take them down!" King Edward echoed to the soldiers.

But Queen Elizabeth stood there, speechless. She stared at her helpless son and then stared at the King. "Stop it this instant."

It was an order. One that took the King by surprise as he stared down at the Queen. "What did you just say?"

Queen Elizabeth stared at him, her expression cold and stoic. An expression the King hadn’t seen in years.

"I said. Stop this madness this instant."
