Bizarre Realm-Chapter 99 - 29: The Truth! Destiny’s Choice! (Part 2)
The teacher has always known what’s happening in the real world!
Shawn took a deep breath and said slowly, "I have many doubts, and I want to know the answers."
Ms. Hecate let out a faint sigh.
After a long while, she said softly, "Ask away."
An Undead Beldam floated over, carrying a seemingly non-existent book of void, and gently placed it in front of Ms. Hecate. The book had no physical form, and the animated text within it seemed like black mist, or like enormous black bubbles.
—"Key of the Door, Unifier of All"!
Shawn just glanced at it and immediately felt an immense pain in his eyes.
Ah!
He couldn’t help but let out a muffled groan, his inspiration trembling furiously, his whole body shivering and even finding it hard to remain standing. This wasn’t even a Magic Book, yet merely the knowledge recorded about some existence on it made it impossible for Shawn to look directly.
Ms. Hecate reached out to erase the trace of the book’s existence. With a slight tiredness in her voice, she said, "That was my oversight."
At that moment, Shawn regained clarity.
He was drenched in sweat, his voice hoarse, looking at the teacher who seemed to show a hint of weakness. He hesitated, "Teacher, are you hurt?"
Ms. Hecate nodded slightly.
She said softly, "Aemon."
"The president of the Gray Whisper Hermitage, once a Fire Thief, and one of the strongest destinies of humankind."
"I fought him and got slightly injured."
Gray Whisper Hermitage!
Upon hearing this, Shawn looked up instantly, "Teacher! What exactly do they want to do?"
The miracle of humanity, the Clockwork Nirvana Twelve Realms, has always protected the real world well.
But everything they do is gradually tearing apart the real world. High Tier Transcendents who should have been in the Bizarre Realm, or even the legendary destinies, have all infiltrated the real world.
With the power of these people, they could completely turn the real world upside down!
Ms. Hecate sighed, "He wants to force us to open the door."
"He has torn open the gap between reality and illusion, wanting to initiate a new era."
Open the door?
A new era?
Something flashed in Shawn’s mind, and he was shocked, "Teacher, are you saying he wants to open the door between the real world and the Bizarre Realm?"
The return of the stars?
Has it already reached that time point?
Could it be that the Ancient are all awakening?
That’s not right.
The stars haven’t returned to their positions, the celestial bodies haven’t aligned in a line.
How could the Ancient awaken?
Ms. Hecate glanced at Shawn and said softly, "He wants the real world to return to the Bizarre Realm."
"He thinks we are too weak, even thinks that humanity is being kept in captivity by us."
"And we suspect that he may have been polluted by the Ancient."
Return?
How many people would die for that?
Moreover, if this is really the case, the president of the Gray Whisper Hermitage certainly wants more than just this. Shawn instantly thought of those Extraordinary Relics secretly transported into the real world.
In an instant!
Shawn looked up in astonishment, "He wants all humans to ascend to become Transcendents?!"
Only in this scenario would there be a need to open the door.
And ordinary people cannot survive in the Bizarre Realm, with only the powerful Transcendents left in the end.
But how many mad uncontrollable beings would emerge this way?
"Yes." Ms. Hecate nodded calmly.
Shawn instantly felt a tingling sensation on his scalp.
If the door between the real world and the Bizarre Realm is fully opened, it would mean all humanity entering a survival game. Although countless Transcendents would emerge, no one knows how many would die in the end.
"Why would he do this?" Shawn asked gravely.
Ms. Hecate replied calmly, "He prophesied the future."
"If all humanity’s power is not gathered to take a bold risk, like during the Dark Era, when the Ancient Pillars awaken again, the Clockwork Nirvana Twelve Realms will shatter, and humanity will become extinct, utterly becoming history."
"He firmly believes in the future he saw."
"So he wants to reveal the truth of reality and open the door to the Bizarre Realm."
This is entirely gambling with human lives for destiny!
This is what was done during the Dark Era, using the lives of billions of humans as a price, brute-forcing the emergence of thousands upon thousands of legendary destinies to fight against the Ancient!
Shawn seemed to see a true mountain of corpses and sea of blood, as he had read about the Dark Era, he knows how many people died during that time!
If they do this, many will die, but there will also be thousands upon thousands of powerful Transcendents emerging.
Once reality is torn apart, ordinary people will no longer be protected by their ignorance.
After a long time.
Shawn said softly, "If the door is really opened, what will be the cost for humanity?"
Ms. Hecate took a deep breath and exhaled two words slowly.
"Half."
Half the population?!
Shawn’s expression was somewhat hard to accept.
According to the total population of the real world, that is over three billion. Half of the population of the Twelve Realms’ countries would die, and the remaining people would qualify to tread the Path of the Extraordinary.
Among the forsaken half, the vast majority are the elderly, weak, women, and children.
Ignorance is the final barrier for sanity!
If this barrier is also torn apart, humans will have to feel the madness of the world.
Aemon is truly a radical.
He wants to stake the fate of all humanity on a bold gamble, with the most brutal survival of the fittest, recreating the experiences of the Dark Era, allowing more legendary destinies to emerge among humans, even new demigods.
No one can calculate how many will die in the end. Perhaps to him, human lives are just strings of numbers, consumable regenerative resources.
Ms. Hecate looked at Shawn softly, "If you were an ordinary person, bound to live only a few decades, would you want to live a peaceful life in the real world? Or enter the Bizarre Realm to know the truth of the world?"
Upon hearing this, Shawn fell silent.
He doesn’t know how to choose.
Because not many can walk the Path of the Extraordinary to the end either.
"Is this why the real world is in such chaos?" Shawn murmured.
Ms. Hecate nodded, "Yes."
"He’s stirring up trouble in the Twelve Realms, forcing us to concede and usher in a new Extraordinary era."
This will lead to many deaths.
The conservatives believe humanity still needs to recuperate and gradually accumulate strength, while the radicals think it’s time for humanity to step out of its comfort zone and take a bold risk.
If humans continue to be domesticated, they’re just sheep waiting to be slaughtered!
No one dares to be certain that Aemon’s prophecy is wrong, after all, he was once a Fire Thief, although he was a Fire Thief of the Demon, Devil, Evil Demon monster paths.
And if his Twelfth Ring Great Prophecy Art is genuine, humanity might miss its final chance to overturn fate.
Because when the Ancient Pillars awaken, the whole world will shatter once more.
Just the apocalyptic disasters from the turmoil of laws alone will be enough to easily kill over a billion people.
The real world is the bargaining chip on the negotiating table.
Including the turbulent Dorne.
Those Transcendents from the Bizarre Realm are different from the Night Watcher, they experience the harshest and most real reality.
Perhaps the ordinary people who die are just necessary sacrifices in their eyes.
After all, they intend to sacrifice half of humanity to return to the Bizarre Realm.
The clash between the demigods will determine the fate of all humans, whether to continue recuperating or start a new Extraordinary era.
In the Bizarre Realm, ordinary people have no right to choose their destiny.
Among the exalted demigods, only a few truly care about ordinary people’s lives, most still consider human life as a regenerative resource’s gain or loss.
From the perspective of racial continuity, they are not wrong, but from the ordinary person’s perspective, this is just too cruel.
Humanity stands at a crossroads of destiny.
Whichever choice is difficult!
.........
(PS: Shawn’s talent, in the eyes of others, has the potential to ascend to demigod, so the Butcher hopes Shawn retains his humanity.
Because once humanity is lost, the lives of countless mortals become mere numbers.)
