Bizarre Realm-Chapter 429 - 46: Private Ryan
"It’s Owl-Ol," someone murmured quietly.
The burly man’s exposed arm muscles coiled like dragons, and the exaggerated back muscles resembled a Devil’s face, with faint blood-red Demon Patterns etched on either side of his spine, tracing the lines of his muscles down to his strong arms. Near the neck on his spine was an exposed silver-white metal point, some sort of Alchemy Marvel implanted into his body. Ryan wasn’t sure what it was, but it was said that only the most outstanding Privates could pass the first enhancement surgery test, "Armored Skin."
Ryan had also tried applying for the test, but he failed. He could only be considered talented, while those who passed the test were all one-in-a-million geniuses.
Rumor had it that someone had already passed the third enhancement surgery.
Owl-Ol was different from them; these people would be mixed into the Star Realm Army, whereas those who passed the enhancement surgeries would directly join the Warband.
On the other side of the field.
The Monster Doctor appeared draped in a large black cloak, holding a Magic Notebook filled with densely packed Secret Technique Characters. After touching an Alchemy Marvel beside his ear, he spoke in a deep voice, "The Undying Prosthetic modifications are not suitable for human Transcendents, as they have rejection issues with living beings."
"Regarding the practicality of the Undying Prosthetic, we’re still in research."
"Currently, our research progress involves digesting the bloodline abilities of aberrant species, and I’m now transmitting the data to you through the Mind Network."
The next second, a strand of strange Spiritual Light emerged.
——"Non-human Digestive System Transformation (Third Surgery) [Aberrant Bloodline]: Your polluted bloodline granted you the ability to gain nutrition from things others do not consider food. You can obtain nutrition from any organic matter, regardless of its freshness or origin. When resisting ingested toxins and diseases caused by ingestion, you gain a +6 racial bonus on Fortitude checks."
——"Dynamic Vision Enhancement (Third Surgery) [Aberrant Bloodline]: Your eyes have undergone genetic mutation, now resembling large compound pupils. In battle mode, they transform into dual-pupil and vertical-pupil forms, granting you Dark Vision and a +10 racial bonus to scouting."
——"Super Hearing Enhancement (Third Surgery) [Aberrant Bloodline]: Your cochlea has been further enhanced by the polluted bloodline, allowing you to hear many subtle sounds and control your auditory capabilities to filter out noise through consciousness, granting you a +10 racial bonus on listening skill checks."
The enhancements for advanced Warriors aren’t necessarily all organ implants; some involve digesting special Extraordinary Relics to gain additional bloodline specializations.
Currently, there are two kinds of enhancement surgeries: implantation and digestive fusion. The latter increases body tissue contamination but, once digestion is complete, basically becomes part of the body, converted into specific bloodline abilities.
A few minutes later, a Steel Giant stepped out of the armory with heavy steps. The bright silver Mechanical Armor made Ryan’s eyes gleam; it was something beyond their reach.
Only those strong Warriors who joined the Warband were equipped with Mechanical Armor.
It was rumored that there were even more powerful Magic Energy Armors, but nobody had seen them, only knowing that the Golem Factory had dispatched some six-meter-tall Steel Mechanical Creatures.
"Line up! Stand at attention!"
The instructor’s roar echoed, and Ryan’s squad began entering the armory one by one. After crossing the heavy doors, he immediately saw two towering figures made entirely of steel—Iron Golem guards, the armory’s Guards. It was said that one of these iron lumps could take down a small army.
Ryan quickly went to his locker. At present, the equipment for the Curios of the Mechanical Heart was somewhat lacking; all stages from one to three were using mixed equipment.
——Power Bracelet +3.
Ryan picked up a heavy pair of bracelets and wore them on his arms, immediately feeling his strength greatly enhanced. He could now easily lift over 200 kilograms, and when pushing or pulling, he could probably manage around 1.2 tons.
Recently, he felt a surge of furious explosive power within him. If he could tap into it, perhaps he could easily move objects weighing several tons.
——Agile Gloves +2.
To be honest, Ryan didn’t feel much change when wearing them, but these gloves were said to be made from the tenacious leather of lurking creatures. Compared to other comrades, Ryan was somewhat clumsy, but his Combat Skills were excellent, and he compensated with strength, always being in the top tier in combat training.
——Constitution Talisman +3.
It was a talisman engraved with the Badge of Divine Terra. As long as Ryan wore it, he gained regeneration abilities, with wounds automatically clotting and healing, which was why he served as the frontline shield bearer in his squad.
——Resistance Belt +2.
It was said to be a Curio originating from Lizardmen, capable of enhancing various resistances and resisting toxins.
After donning this basic set of Curio equipment, Ryan prepared to clad himself. He was equipped with Mechanical Gear Armor, a type of Heavy Armor composed of countless small gears, disks, plates, and other metallic mechanical devices. Its protection surpassed all other Heavy Armors, though it notably reduced speed compared to other types of Heavy Armors.
These gear-based armors were assembled after factory production by an Alchemical Creature known as the ’Clock Repairer.’
