Biocores: The Legendary Weapon Designer-Chapter 44: Crafting Another Unique Weapon
Chapter 44: Crafting Another Unique Weapon
The dinner concluded quietly, Magnus’s light teasing meeting Nioh’s dry replies. Servants efficiently cleared the table, the clinking of plates and silverware a soft background noise. The lingering aroma of roasted meats and herbs began to dissipate, replaced by the faint, clean scent of polished wood. Magnus then led Nioh and X into a private room. The room was dimly lit, with plush velvet chairs arranged around a low, polished table. A single, ornate lamp cast long shadows, highlighting the intricate patterns on the thick, woven rug. The air was still, holding a faint, almost imperceptible scent of sandalwood.
In the room was the old man he had met the last time he came for the auction.
"Master, Young Master," he bowed, greeting both Nioh and Magnus.
Nioh acknowledged him with a nod and turned his gaze to the heavy canon gun sprawled on the workbench.
He moved quickly to its side and gently rubbed his hands against the weapon.
The smell of melted gold and electromechanical circuits filled his nose, and like an addict, he experienced a high.
This was a superior-grade weapon. All the parts and materials screamed money.
" The electro-magnetic field around the weapon is abnormally strong" Ekoh spoke for the first time during the night.
"It doesn’t come from it but from him," Nioh answers while taking a look at Magnus.
"The frequency of the field is very unique. It feels like your Ancient biocore"
"It is because it is charged with a form of will," Nioh replied with excitation.
"This is a very good weapon," he said to Magnus.
"I am aware, but it weighs a ton. Being immobile on the battlefield is a death sentence"
"Not if you are well protected," Nioh retorted.
"I already lost five aegis (defense) teammates to protect me because of this stupid thing"
" Let me guess, you can’t change it because of how specific your ability is. Feed me the details," Nioh inquired as he pulled a series of hover screens from his communication devices.
The old man was the one to take the lead. " My young master has awakened biocore ability that is called Aurum railgun. Aurum for gold, in simpler terms. He can shoot gold in a very destructive way." A few more screens appeared in the room, showing Magnus’s practices.
"The railgun is incredibly powerful and equally as unstable. This golden canon is the only thing that could control and canalize the power of the railgun. It cost a few hundred millions to build and maintain. But the logistics associated with transport cost even more."
" Uncle William is just talking about the financial side, that things just cost too many lives. If you cannot find a solution, I will not step on the battlefield again," Magnus said in an emotional outburst that took the room by surprise.
Nioh smiled brightly; it seemed that this perverted millionaire was not so devoid of morals after all.
"I will need a bigger room and a few more practice clips from him. I will need the building prints of the railgun. Also, a few more things that X can fetch from my lab. I have an idea that involves tearing this beast apart. If you are willing to take the gamble, so am I."
" Just an Idea, it is a bit reckless, master," the old William warned.
" I won’t be using it even if it fails, so have at it, Master Ekoh" Magnus order in agreement.
Nioh tied his long silver hair into a bun and took off his suit before rolling his sleeve. He turned to the old William and wrote a list of material and things to fetch from his lab and turned to Magnus. " I want any records of this transaction erased." While pointing at the cameras in the room.
Uncle William’s managerial prowess mirrored Marsai’s, a quiet efficiency that smoothed out the chaos of the superflux logistics. By night’s end, the evidence of his skill was palpable: Nioh found himself within a makeshift lab, a marvel of technological advancement that dwarfed his own. The space hummed with subtle energy, a symphony of whirring servers and blinking displays.
Sitting in front of the golden railgun, he was musing with Ekoh.
"So, do you think the will in the electromagnetic field comes from his obsession with gold? Or that the electromagnetic field is the one fueling his obsession with gold," Nioh asked.
"I will say both; it’s like two sides of the same coin. A symbiotic relationship," Ekoh answered. "So, sound out your idea again, so I can tell you how reckless it is"
"Ekoh, don’t be such a downer. I am afraid it is just because you are not capable."
"I dare you to say that again."
" I am joking, but we have successfully divided a single biocore into two weapons, what is stopping us from doing it with ten?"
" A lot of things are stopping us."
"Arghh, don’t nag anymore. Let’s run the simulations. The central biocore is a Pyromagnet. Pyromagnet Biocores are a rare and dangerous breed. Their bodies generate and contain intense heat and electromagnetic energy.
They are often found in the deepest, hottest regions of the Bio-Hives, acting as living furnaces.
They are highly valued for their ability to tolerate immense amounts of power.
They are often used to power the most destructive weapons."Nioh explained.
" Even if we manage to separate the Pyromagnet into ten parts, the control aspect remains the main issue to solve." Ekoh inferred back.
"But the refractory quality of the Pyromagnet is often ignored. Why can it store so much power, because it can resist it. Resistance is control".
"I see what you are doing, but will Crazy Boy have the arm strength to handle that?"
"Not my problem, I already offered him a way, he needs to work for the rest."
Nioh immediately got to work. With the help of Ekoh and his control over electromagnetic waves, it was almost a breeze in the simulations. He got the idea from his meeting with Magnus. If he liked to wear tacky gold rings so much, he might as well make them useful.
He first proceed to dismantle the railgun, he extracted all the reusable materials, and melted the rest with the Aurum to create ten perfect rings for ten specific fingers.
Then, with a magnifying glass, he carved the circuitry.
The principle was simple: each ring needed to have two functions: discharge high-intensity electromagnetic energy, and project hight intensity electromagnetic energy.
Magnus, as the power souce, would produce the energy, and depending on the number of rings he activates, the energy would be released and dissipated accordingly.
For that, all ten rings needed to be precise and durable. It took four days of intense concentration to finish the carving.
Nioh’s features had sharpened, his default, less approachable demeanor returning as Ekoh undertook the delicate task of biocore-splitting surgery. The procedure required the simultaneous division of the ten pieces, a feat of precise manipulation while maintaining the fragile harmonic wave connection. Fortunately, the Pyromagnet was not a complex biocores. But the sheer quantity of links needed to develop a biocore this dense was outstanding.
"In the simulations, we estimate over ten million links to maintain during the split," Nioh said. "Can you do it?"
"In ten simulations, I succeeded in eight. I am ready"
Nioh’s forehead began to glow, and so did his eyes. A bright golden light filled the laboratory, leaving nowhere for shadows to hide. His breath remained steady, controlled, despite the immense energy coursing through his body. At the center of the laboratory, the Pyromagnet floated, spinning onto itself at an incredible speed, its metallic surface reflecting the golden radiance like a miniature sun.
If one paid close attention, they would notice tiny fragments of the biocore slowly eroding, dissolving into near-invisible dust as time pressed forward. Every second counted. A single miscalculation could lead to catastrophic failure. Nioh’s fingers moved at mock speed, a blur of precision and dexterity, each motion synchronized with the pulses of energy from his biocore. His entire body felt like an extension of the process, his nerves tuned to the intricate dance of energy and matter. freewёbnoνel.com
Perfect coordination was required between his hands and his biocore, an unbroken rhythm between thought and action. This was not mere surgery—it was a performance, a battle against entropy itself, where mastery over one’s own power determined the fate of the Pyromagnet..
Blood began to down his nose as the weight of the task began to take its toll on his body.
"55% done," Ekoh updated.
The Pyromagnet was now showing the shape of the ten parts. Slowly and gently, the parts began to detach as Ekoh’s work progressed, "80% done"
Nioh’s body started to tremble as his skin grew paler the intensity of the golden light dimed until a flicker was left.
"Done" Ekoh said with loud excitation. Before the light could shut off Nioh directed the pieces to the designated slots of each ring. Upon contact, the connection was immediate a red light permeated the circuits and all ten rings flew into the air and gravitated around each other.
"I TOLD YOU I COULD DO IT," Ekoh’s voice rang loud in Nioh’s exhausted mind.
"Uncle William, please send X to the lab with food and energy biocores," he said while pressing an intercom button.
