Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 794 - 661 He Never Talks to Me About Official Business (Part 1)_2
Yun Jin emerged from the shadows with a dozen people, saying, "Fifth Master, I was just about to move in when I saw Mrs. Yi Luowa flanking from the rear..."
"You wanted to see if I have what it takes to save your beloved Fifth Master, didn’t you?" Yi Luowa pressed the gun firmly against Mr. Wu’s waist. "Drop the weapon! My daughter wouldn’t even bother with this kind of toy."
Mr. Wu glanced around cautiously.
Yun Jin chuckled lightly. "Looking for your comrades? You’ll see them soon enough."
Realizing that the situation had turned against him, Mr. Wu dropped the realistic-looking imitation gun.
Tong Aino cast him a sidelong glance and said to Yun Jin, "Send him to Lao Ba, and don’t let him delay my brother’s wedding night."
"Got it. Lao Ba’s got nothing better to do anyway; let him entertain them for a bit. Fifth Master, what should we do about Baili Zijin?"
Tong Aino smiled. "I’ve lost interest in her. Send her over too."
Yun Jin grabbed Mr. Wu and dragged him off.
Yi Luowa put down her gun and raised her eyes to Tong Aino. "You’re always so reckless! Surrounded by dangerous characters, aren’t you even the least bit afraid?"
"What’s there to fear from their petty tricks?" Tong Aino chuckled, tugging Yi Luowa’s arm lightly. "You better head back. We’ve got plenty of men in the family—leave this kind of thing to them."
"I was just worried about you!" Yi Luowa rolled her eyes at him. "Let’s head back together. Don’t let Connie start fretting over you."
"Alright." They walked side by side into the ship cabin.
Yi Luowa tilted her head to glance at him. "Does your brother know what you’ve been up to with all this playing around?"
"I told him once I had most of the details figured out. Without me this time, he wouldn’t have found their lair," Tong Aino said, puffing out his chest pridefully. "But, honestly, my brother is ruthless—who raids someone’s lair on their wedding night?"
"It’s the perfect timing to catch the enemy off guard. Still, he really should’ve given me a heads-up before pulling such a big move."
"He did it because he didn’t want you to worry."
Yi Luowa pursed her lips. "Normally, you complain about your brother all the time, but at critical moments, you always take his side."
"It’s fine when I complain, but it’s not okay when other people do! I can’t stand people trying to sow discord between me and my brother."
"Those who try to provoke you don’t understand your relationship. Sometimes, I even envy you two."
Tong Aino laughed. "Envy our tacit understanding?"
Yi Luowa pouted. "You two are annoying; you don’t even need words to know what the other is thinking."
"Honestly, I find it annoying too—especially today. My heart’s been inexplicably excited all day."
"Tong Lao Wu, are you saying it’s actually your brother who’s been excited all day?" Yi Luowa smirked. "Why would he even act like that? We’re old married couples now."
"Such a heartless remark! I’ll go straight to my brother and tell him."
"Tell me what?" Tong Airui walked over.
"Why don’t you ask my sister-in-law yourself? I’m heading back to keep Connie company," Tong Aino said as he headed to his room.
"Why aren’t you in the room waiting for me? What are you running around for?" Tong Airui chuckled, ruffling her hair.
"I saw Tong Lao Wu getting flirted with by some woman, so I went to catch them red-handed—hahaha."
Tong Airui laughed helplessly. "If Tong Lao Wu hears this, he’ll argue with you again."
Yi Luowa glanced toward Tong Aino’s room and pulled Tong Airui forward at a faster pace. "Let’s hurry; let’s go check on the kids."
"I just checked; Ziyang and Sangyu are with Grandpa and Grandma, and Zi Xi is with their maternal grandparents—they won’t wander off again."
Yi Luowa frowned slightly. "I still can’t figure it out—how did those three manage to slip out before, with so many people watching them?"
Tong Airui smiled apologetically. "That was my fault."
Yi Luowa looked at him curiously.
Tong Airui quickly explained, "It wasn’t all my fault—the main issue was that they locked Yuan Hang and Kou’er in."
Yi Luowa dragged him into the room, her expression tense. "Fess up! What have you been up to these past few days behind my back?"
"Well, it all started with Baili Zijin. She went to Zhuoyuan as part of a setup... Wife, today is our wedding night; do you really think this is the right time to talk about this?"
"Why wouldn’t it be? Didn’t you also send troops to attack Wuming Island today?"
Tong Airui frowned. "Whose loose tongue is that?"
"It wasn’t some gossip—it’s because Tong Lao Wu was nearly taken advantage of today," Yi Luowa explained, recounting the earlier events.
Tong Airui smiled as he looked at her. "You even went to save Lao Wu? If he can’t even protect himself, does he deserve to call himself a descendant of the Audrich family?"
Yi Luowa pouted in annoyance. "So you’re saying I worried for nothing?"
"No, what you did was absolutely right!" Tong Airui said with a grin, reaching out to unfasten her buttons.
Yi Luowa wrinkled her nose. "Stop being so impatient and tell me—what exactly have you been up to lately?"
"How about we take a bath together? I’ll talk while we wash so we don’t waste time." Tong Airui pulled her into the bathroom.
As the water was running, Yi Luowa couldn’t contain her curiosity. "Don’t tease me—just spill it already!"
Tong Airui laughed. "You’re so impatient! Fine, I’ll tell you now—Baili Zijin and Sato Shoko are classmates."
"What?!"
"That’s what Lao Wu uncovered. Baili Zijin is like Yang Xiu from the Three Kingdoms—outsmarting herself in her cleverness. She was so eager to win Lao Wu’s favor that she said things she shouldn’t have, tipping him off instead.
Lao Wu kept it to himself at first, investigating quietly until he found out Baili Zijin was Sato Shoko’s classmate. Only then did he share the information with me. Over the past few days, I’ve been tracking her phone records, following the trail to uncover Mr. Wu, who turns out to be the contact person between Baili Zijin and Sato Shoko."
Yi Luowa tested the water temperature with her hand. "Another spy drama, huh? Their target this time must be our family’s wealth, right?"
"Exactly. They set up this trap mainly to siphon funds from Zhuoyuan. If this money were stolen, Zhuoyuan would suffer a significant blow. But in a way, I’m grateful—they tried so hard their tails ended up showing." 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"If they lack the brains for this, why play such a complicated game? It’s absurd!" Yi Luowa turned off the faucet and began unbuttoning Tong Airui’s shirt.
"It’s not that they’re not smart—it’s that their actors’ performances were terrible."
Yi Luowa paused momentarily. "It’s not bad acting—Baili Zijin must have fallen for Lao Wu. When she couldn’t get what she wanted from him, she turned back to support Sato Shoko."
"That’s true," Tong Airui said, looking down at her. "Wife, I’ve told you everything I should; isn’t it time we get down to business now?"
"But you haven’t finished! Are we really acting tonight?"
"The operation is already underway," Tong Airui replied with a smile. "Lao Ba is commanding, Haotian is supporting, and your academic mentor jumped in out of nowhere—the alignment is the same as when we dealt with R-country."
Yi Luowa asked worriedly, "Lao Ba is leading a battle for the first time—shouldn’t you help him a bit?"
Tong Airui shook his head. "He doesn’t need me. Colin is there; I have confidence in Lao Ba."
"Have you figured out how many soldiers are stationed on Wuming Island?"
"You still don’t trust my work? Wife, can we stop talking about this?"
"Then what should we talk about?"...
