Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 793 - 661: He Never Discusses Official Business with Me (One Update)
Mr. Wu glanced at Tong Aino with a smile, "Your family is quite remarkable! Two talents like you and Duke Airui."
Tong Aino chuckled lightly, "I’m not exactly a talent. My brother and I aren’t in the same league."
"By the way, I just sat with Joel, the CEO of Haotian, and we talked about a deal."
Tong Aino smiled, "So, Mr. Wu and Joel have already reached an agreement?"
"We have reached an agreement."
Tong Aino swirled the wine glass in his hand, "Mr. Wu, it seems this trip of yours wasn’t in vain. You’ve managed to strike two deals at once."
"I’ve been basking in your brother’s good fortune." Mr. Wu laughed, "It’s getting a bit late today. Let’s sign the contract tomorrow."
"Alright." Tong Aino clinked his glass lightly with Mr. Wu’s, "Mr. Wu, are you very familiar with Baili?"
Mr. Wu was momentarily stunned, "We’re not particularly close. We’ve only met a few times for business. Why? President Aino, you’re not interested in that little girl, are you?"
"Of course not! I’m a married man with kids." Tong Aino laughed and took a small sip of his red wine.
"President Aino, there’s something I’d like to ask of you."
Tong Aino tilted his head and looked at him, "Mr. Wu, we’re partners. If there’s anything I can help with, feel free to say."
"Can you ask your brother to withdraw his troops?"
"Withdraw his troops? What troops? I haven’t heard of him planning to go to war."
Mr. Wu chuckled, "It seems your brother does keep some things from you."
Tong Aino furrowed his brows slightly, "He never discusses business matters with me."
Mr. Wu nodded in agreement, "President Aino, you’re right. But I still have to plead with you for this favor. Your brother intends to attack Wuming Island. To be frank, I’m doing business with them, and my people are still on the island. If a conflict breaks out, I genuinely fear they won’t make it out alive."
Tong Aino’s brows knitted slightly, "I don’t know anything about Wuming Island, but one thing I do know is this: if my brother has decided to engage them, they certainly aren’t good people. And doing business with such people—aren’t you worried about the risks?"
"We’re businessmen; whoever pays, we do business with. I didn’t think too much about it back then. It seems getting your brother to withdraw his troops is impossible. But can I ask you to persuade him to open a safe passage for my people? Once they’re safely out, he can proceed with his plans against Wuming Island."
Tong Aino smiled apologetically, "I’m afraid I can’t help with that, but I can talk to my brother and ask him to take care of your people as much as possible."
"It was presumptuous of me." Mr. Wu drained his glass and, with a flourish, tossed the glass into the sea.
"Don’t move!" A pitch-black pistol was suddenly pressed against Tong Aino’s waist.
Tong Aino curled his lips into a sly smile and turned his head toward Mr. Wu, "Not planning to keep the act going, huh?"
Mr. Wu froze, "You’ve figured it out already?"
"What do you think?"
"You’ve got guts. Even after figuring it out, you still dared to play along with me for so long."
Tong Aino flashed a devilish grin, "I’ve always been a thrill-seeker. Smuggling a gun aboard a ship—I underestimated you!"
"You can’t bring a gun aboard, but your people have guns. It’s easy enough to borrow one from them." Mr. Wu chuckled, "I guessed long ago that you wouldn’t help, and even if you wanted to, your brother wouldn’t agree. After all, your words hold little weight with him."
Tong Aino smirked, "If I have no influence over my brother, you think kidnapping me will make him compromise?"
"He may not care for you, but your parents certainly do." Mr. Wu broke into a wild laugh, "And I hear your wife is pregnant again. If you want to see your baby born, cooperate with me. I won’t make things difficult for you."
"Risking it all for your employees—you really are a dedicated boss. But do you honestly think I’d buy it?" Tong Aino glanced at him contemptuously, "Mr. Wu, did you perhaps forget my surname?"
Mr. Wu was momentarily stunned, and Tong Aino smiled while subtly moving the hand in his pocket.
Mr. Wu shouted warily, "Don’t move!"
"Don’t move!" A pitch-black object was suddenly pressed against Mr. Wu’s waist.
"Tsk!" Tong Aino shook his head in mock annoyance, "I wasn’t done playing yet. Why’d you have to spoil the fun so quickly?"
Yi Luowa shot him a glare, "How can you be so reckless! Playing is one thing, but risking your life is another!"
Tong Aino pouted and nudged aside Mr. Wu’s pistol with his hand, "Stop pointing that toy phone at me!"
Mr. Wu froze, "How is this possible!"
"Come on, in my family, I grew up playing with real guns. This pistol you’re holding is a toy I made to amuse kids." Tong Aino glanced over his shoulder, "Come out now—don’t tell me you expect my sister-in-law and me to handle this personally!"
