Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 773 - 646: Isn’t It as Good as Before? (One more)
The Fourth Master made the baby cry and ended up being given the cold shoulder by his wife all night. But he felt that even if she stayed cold toward him for a few more days, it was still worth it. At the very least, he had interrupted her call with that annoying guy.
The next day, Yi Luowa was promoted, and Tong Airui personally replaced the epaulettes on her uniform. Finally, a smile appeared on Yi Luowa’s face.
Tong Airui thought the matter was resolved, but when they returned to the office, Yi Luowa’s face immediately darkened again.
The Fourth Master lowered his pride, gently holding his wife’s shoulder as he said, "I promise I won’t make the baby cry again, isn’t that enough?"
Yi Luowa glared at him, glanced at the time, pushed him away, and headed out the door.
"Wife..."
"I’m going to feed Zi Xi. I won’t be back this afternoon."
"What do you mean you won’t be back?!" Tong Airui chased after her.
"Youyou and Joyina have a flight to catch this afternoon," Yi Luowa replied, noticing Bert approaching from the opposite direction.
Bert smiled, "Need me to take you home?"
"No need. With your driving skills, I’d be better off driving myself." Yi Luowa smiled and walked downstairs.
"What’s up with your wife today?" Bert asked Tong Airui.
"Nothing, isn’t she in a great mood?" Tong Airui picked up his phone and called the bodyguard. He wasn’t comfortable with her driving home alone.
After returning home, Yi Luowa had lunch with Youyou and Joyina, then sent them to the airport. Once her busy afternoon was over, she finally had a chance to chat with Huo Li.
"Do you think Senior and his girlfriend are truly in love?"
Huo Li rolled her eyes. "Why wouldn’t they be? Last night, when you went out, I had a chat with Senior. He was practically glowing and told me so many funny stories about them."
Yi Luowa let out a long sigh of relief. "That puts my mind at ease. Joyina said something to me that had my heart all unsettled."
"Joyina’s just a kid..."
"And you’re an adult?"
"I’m a mom now. Of course, I’m an adult!"
Yi Luowa gave her a disdainful look. "Joyina is a mom too, you know!"
Huo Li pursed her lips. "Luowa, no offense, but she’s such a careless mom. Honestly, I feel like it’s her aunt and uncle taking care of the child."
Yi Luowa sighed. "Let’s not talk about her. I haven’t exactly been hands-on with my three kids either."
"But you have your reasons," Huo Li said, glancing at the sleeping child. She smiled and added, "Yi Mingduo told me he wants to go to the same kindergarten as Sangyu when he grows up. Is that feasible?"
"Of course! But you guys live so far away, how would that work?"
Huo Li smiled faintly. "The estate may be big, but it’s so remote. It’s fine for the elderly to live there, but it’s not ideal for raising a child. Your Second Uncle said that when Ming Duo is ready for school, we’ll move to the capital. The new place isn’t far from here, so we’ll get to see each other every day."
"Really?!" Yi Luowa beamed. "That’s fantastic. I’ve actually wanted to bring this up with my Second Uncle, but I was worried he’d be too used to living there. Did he really come up with this himself?"
"Yes, for Ming Duo, he’s willing to do anything now." Huo Li smiled brightly at her. "I used to worry he wouldn’t like Ming Duo, but I was overthinking it. He does everything he once did for you, but now it’s for Ming Duo. And even towards me, he’s not the same as he used to be..."
Yi Luowa paused in surprise. "Not as good as before?"
Huo Li playfully pushed her. "What nonsense! He’s even better than before. It’s just that he doesn’t treat me like a kid anymore. For some things, he even listens to my opinions now."
Yi Luowa bit her lip. "Do you and my Second Uncle ever argue?"
Huo Li nodded. "We’ve had a couple of arguments because of Ming Duo. He spoils the kid too much, and I can’t stand it."
"Because he didn’t spoil you like that?"
"Haha, you caught me." Huo Li grinned as she continued, "Did you know? Fighting between couples can actually strengthen your relationship. Every time we argue, he treats me even better afterward."
Yi Luowa pouted. "That’s the first time I’ve heard such nonsense!"
"It’s true! Believe it or not. Anyway, he doesn’t treat me like a kid anymore."
"Fine, I’ll believe you!" Yi Luowa leaned against the sofa. "Huo Li, when do you think Tong Airui will ever grow up?"
"What do you mean?"
"He’s so annoying. I’m still mad right now. Can you believe, just to stop me from talking to Senior, he made the baby cry?"
"Men are all just big kids, no matter how old they are. Don’t expect too much maturity from him. Tong Airui keeps such a close eye on you and doesn’t want you talking to Senior too much—it’s just his way of showing he loves you."
"Why are you taking his side now?"
Huo Li laughed, "I’m just smoothing things over. Otherwise, do you want the two of you to get into a fight?"
