Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 756 - 633 Like Me More (Three Updates)
As for whether Uncle Che will have another granddaughter to hold, a month and a half later, Yi Luowa had an ultrasound, and the family found out the baby’s gender early: boy!
Ever since Yi Luowa learned she was carrying a boy, she couldn’t shake the feeling that she somehow owed her family.
Tong Yao noticed she wouldn’t even look her and Long Che in the eye and spent a lot of time comforting her. Gradually, Yi Luowa came to terms with it.
The Aldrichs didn’t care much about boys, but Emperor Haotian and Queen Haotian were absolutely thrilled.
Their son was already able to stand, the railway construction had begun, the first phase of the business district was under construction — everything was falling into place. Queen Haotian even found time to come and stay for a few days each month to keep her daughter company.
Yi Luowa felt guilty toward her mother and brother. She had only visited her brother once before being forbidden to fly back and forth again.
Ultimately, it was Danton who resolved this internal conflict for her. As soon as Danton was able to get out of bed, he came to Summer Witch with their mother. He wanted to spend time with his sister and her kids.
When Yi Luowa heard her brother wasn’t planning to leave right away, she was delighted, but she also felt conflicted because of their parents.
"You came here, but what about Dad and Mom?"
"I only came because Dad and Mom agreed. Once you’ve had the baby, I’ll go back. Honestly, I’m here to focus on recovering." Danton joked as he hugged his sister’s shoulders. "Sis, at home Dad and Mom don’t let me do a single thing. They say I’ll only get assigned work after I’m fully recovered. I figured I’d use my time here to get strong and healthy before heading back."
"Fine, but once you’re better, you must shoulder the responsibilities. You know better than me how fragile Dad and Mom’s health is."
Danton sniffled. "Sis, not until I began to recover did Dad and Mom tell me everything that’s happened recently. Both of them became ill, and you’ve been single-handedly keeping Haotian running. I’ve really let you, the kids, and our parents down."
"The people you’ve let down the most aren’t us — it’s the citizens of Haotian! You abandoned them for your own selfish reasons!" Yi Luowa frowned and looked at him. "I didn’t want to bring this up while you were still healing, but now that you’re recovering, there are things I must say."
Danton nodded with a smile. "Alright, say it."
Queen Haotian watched the siblings with a smile and shook her head. "Luowa, the things you want to say — your dad and I have already said them to him. This time, he’s truly woken up. During the period he stayed home recuperating, although we didn’t assign him work, he kept himself busy. Using just one hand, he typed on the keyboard, helping us with many tasks. Your dad and I worried he wouldn’t rest well at home, so we discussed it with your in-laws and decided to send him here."
"Really!" Yi Luowa happily patted Danton’s shoulder. "My little brother has finally grown up. Back then, we even joked that when you recovered, we’d spank you! This time we won’t spank you, but you’d better remember this well — never cause such trouble again. Our parents only have one life; they can’t endure being tossed around like this."
"Sis, I’ve realized my mistake." Danton pulled his sister’s hand and slapped his own face twice.
Yi Luowa quickly withdrew her hand. "Danton, what are you doing!"
"Letting you vent your anger. Sis, I promise you — from now on, I’ll live as a real man."
Yi Luowa pressed her lips together. "It’s not me you need to promise..."
Danton raised his right hand. "I promise the citizens of Haotian!"
Yi Luowa exchanged glances with their mother, and both smiled warmly.
"Stupid Danton!" Sang Yu burst through the door. "You’re so naughty! Spank your butt!"
Zi Yan followed close behind, and the two little ones dove into Danton’s arms, raising their tiny hands to smack his backside a few times.
Danton laughed, letting them hit him.
Yi Luowa chuckled and gave her daughter’s backside a gentle slap. "Uncle’s still recovering; don’t cause trouble."
"Not recovered?" Sang Yu tugged at her uncle’s eyelashes.
"Ouch~" Danton laughed and gave her little bum a pat.
"Even if it hurts, you deserve it for being naughty!" Zi Yan tugged at his other set of eyelashes.
"My little ancestors, can’t Uncle behave from now on?"
Zi Yan snorted. "No! You made us miss Mommy!"
"You upset Grandpa, Grandma, and Mommy, and made them cry." Sang Yu took a bite out of her uncle’s cheek.
"Daddy cried too!" Zi Yan pinched his uncle’s nose hard.
Danton laughed and asked, "Your dad cries?"
The two little ones nodded vigorously.
Danton turned to Yi Luowa with a grin. "Sis, did your husband really cry?"
"Don’t listen to their nonsense!" Tong Airui walked in with a smile. "Leon came by to see you. Stop goofing around with them and come out for a bit."
Danton kissed Zi Yan and Sang Yu on their little cheeks. "Uncle’s stepping out for a moment, but I’ll be back to play with you."
Sang Yu and Zi Yan quickly scrambled down.
Tong Airui patted his son’s bottom. "I asked you two to call your uncle, but look at what you did!"
Zi Yan grinned mischievously at his dad. "Forgot!"
"Next time, remember." Tong Airui scolded his son lightly and escorted Danton out the door.
Leon mainly came to check on Danton, but he also brought up a few contract projects between the two nations.
Tong Airui just quietly listened. From the accident to now, it had only been a few months, but Danton had truly matured. Not only did he have a clear understanding of the matters Leon mentioned, but he even had his own unique insights.
Tong Airui nodded with satisfaction.
That night, Tong Airui told Yi Luowa about Danton’s performance. Yi Luowa beamed with joy when she heard. "I guess he wasn’t lying to me. He’s genuinely ready to take on the responsibility of Haotian. Our hard work over these months hasn’t been in vain."
Tong Airui chuckled and nodded. "Now that Danton’s back, we don’t have to worry about our third child’s future. Even if Mom and Dad take care of him, they won’t need to do so every single day."
Yi Luowa’s face lit up with hope. "Yes, someday we’ll find him a good girl, have him raise some adorable babies of his own, and when Mom and Dad have their own grandchildren, they won’t have to look after our third child so much."
Tong Airui laughed. "So, my dear wife, you don’t really want Mom and Dad raising our kids, do you?"
Yi Luowa pouted slightly. "It’s always better to raise your own children. Back then, I agreed to let Mom and Dad help because there was no other choice."
"And now? What should we do in these coming years?"
"Do about what?"
"Danton just turned twenty. It’ll be years before he’s ready to marry and have kids."
Yi Luowa smiled knowingly. "Well, since no one in our family likes boys, we’ll just let Mom take care of him for a few years."
Tong Airui shook his head helplessly. "Who said no one likes boys? I like them! He’s our child!"
"Mom’s a rational person. She won’t take care of him all the time, so you’ll still get to see him." Yi Luowa smiled and touched her belly. "Dad hasn’t picked a name for our third, so why don’t we choose one ourselves?"
Tong Airui clasped her hand with a grin. "Dad has already picked one; he just didn’t tell you."
"What name?"
"Zi Xi. It means a bright and promising future."
"That’s a great name. Although, it kind of might sound like suffocating at first!"
Tong Airui laughed. "Don’t joke like that!"
"Okay, no more jokes. Anyway, our third child finally has a name, and it’s a pretty good one too."
"Mommy~" Sang Yu poked her little head in.
"Come in." Yi Luowa clung to Tong Airui’s arm and sat up. "Where’s your brother?"
"Sending the stick back." Sang Yu darted over like a sparrow.
"You won’t need the stick anymore. Mommy will leave the door open for you."
Sang Yu climbed quickly onto the bed and pouted. "Uncle’s annoying. He said I don’t have a little sister anymore."
Tong Airui pulled his daughter into his arms and smiled. "You don’t have a little sister anymore. Didn’t we tell you before that Mommy’s baby is a little brother?"
"Little brothers aren’t fun."
"Little brothers are fun!" Zi Yan ran into the room. "Mommy, Uncle pulled my pants down."
"Pull his down too." Tong Airui chuckled.
"Couldn’t pull it down." Zi Yan grumbled as he climbed onto the bed. "Dad, help me."
"Tomorrow, I’ll help you teach him a lesson."
"Dad, Uncle said that once the little brother is born, he’s taking him away." Zi Yan said, puffing his cheeks angrily. "Not giving him to him!"
"Right, we won’t give him away. He’s ours to play with." Tong Airui glanced at his wife cautiously.
"Anyway, Grandmother and Uncle can take him for a few days occasionally. You can play with him then." Yi Luowa smiled and stroked her son’s head. "Our family won’t be apart anymore."
"That’s more like it." Zi Yan gently touched his mother’s belly. "Little brother, when will you come out? Big brother wants to play with you."
"Hmph~" Sang Yu pouted.
"Don’t be mad. Let Mommy have another little sister." Zi Yan placed one hand on his mom’s belly and grabbed his little sister’s hand with the other.
Sang Yu pouted with resolve. "Then you have to like me!"
"I’ll like everyone equally."
"No, like me more!"
"Alright, then."
Tong Airui chuckled, noticing his son’s personality was far more agreeable than his own.
