Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 757 - 634: Duke Daddy (One More Update)
Yi Luowa had been working for a few months, and her belly was growing bigger by the day. By the eighth month, Tong Yao ordered her to return home to focus on her pregnancy.
During a prenatal checkup, the doctor mentioned she could have a natural birth this time. Yi Luowa was tempted, as natural birth was better for the child. After discussing it with everyone, no one objected. The reason they didn’t oppose was that they wanted the child to come into this world naturally.
On the morning of June 2nd, Yi Luowa’s belly started hurting. The pain lasted the whole day, but the little one still refused to come out.
Tong Airui saw her completely worn out and, as he wiped the sweat off her forehead, said to her, "Honey, how about we go for a C-section instead?"
Yi Luowa glanced at him and, after a brief respite from the pain, replied, "You want me to suffer twice? I don’t believe this will kill me."
Tong Airui furrowed his brows. "This little rascal, usually he’s so well-behaved. What’s his deal this time?"
"Isn’t the birth of every new life fraught with countless challenges... Ah, no, it’s starting again." Yi Luowa bit down on her lower lip, refusing to let herself cry out.
Tong Airui quickly placed his hand near her mouth, "Honey, don’t do this. If you need to bite, bite me."
Yi Luowa turned her face away. It was better for her to endure the pain alone than have both of them suffer together.
Outside the room, Queen Haotian was shedding tears in streams. "If this keeps going on, Luowa will lose her strength. Maybe she should just go for the C-section."
"Auntie, let me go check how many centimeters she’s dilated, and then we can decide." Jimo Shanshan said as she pushed open the door to enter the delivery room. "How many centimeters?"
"It was eight centimeters earlier. After this next wave of contractions, it should be fully dilated."
Jimo Shanshan placed her fingers on Yi Luowa’s pulse. "When the pain subsides, get up on the delivery bed. At this point, a C-section is no longer an option."
"Alright."
"Shanshan, stay with me later. Don’t let your fourth brother come in." Yi Luowa grabbed Jimo Shanshan’s hand.
"Fourth brother..."
"I’ll stay with you. You’re suffering because of me; I won’t leave you alone in there." Tong Airui gently pulled her hand down and held it tightly in his palm. "This is the last one!"
Yi Luowa let out a muffled groan from the pain. She wanted to say that she wouldn’t give birth again no matter what.
After the next round of contractions passed, with the help of the doctor, Tong Airui carried his wife onto the delivery bed.
Lying on the delivery bed, Yi Luowa weakly said, "You had better not chicken out like those guys!"
Tong Airui kissed her forehead with a laugh. "I’m nothing like them. When we had Sangyu and Ziyan, I wasn’t scared either."
Yi Luowa gave him a mischievous look as if she was watching a good show unfold. She was just about to say more when a sharp pain suddenly struck, far more intense than anything before. It was agonizing beyond what she could bear. Just as she was about to bite her lip, a large hand appeared near her mouth.
This time, she didn’t hold back and bit down hard.
"It’s happening now. What time is it?" Jimo Shanshan anxiously glanced at the clock on the wall.
"Eleven forty." Tong Airui was also watching the time.
Jimo Shanshan’s heart tightened uncontrollably.
"What time is it?" Tong Yao, standing outside the door, couldn’t help but fidget and turned to look at Long Che.
Long Che replied in a deep voice, "Twenty minutes to midnight."
Tong Yao sighed. "Looks like this child really intends to share the same birthday as Luowa."
Queen Haotian was pacing back and forth in the hallway. "Other people scream their lungs out during childbirth, but this child doesn’t make a sound. Her silence makes me even more anxious than if she were yelling."
Emperor Haotian helplessly took her hand. "Luowa is tough. Her silence is because she doesn’t want to worry us. Stop pacing already, save some energy for holding your grandson later, alright?"
"Dad, just let Mom be. Walking around helps distract her. I’m so nervous I... I need to go to the restroom." Danton said as he rushed to the bathroom.
"Hopeless!" Emperor Haotian shook his head in exasperation.
Queen Haotian scolded, "Don’t criticize my son. You’re no better—look at all the sweat on your forehead!"
"Ah... it’s so nerve-wracking!" Emperor Haotian supported his wife, saying, "I’ll walk with you. At least it’ll help us take our minds off things."
As the clock struck midnight, a baby’s cry finally echoed from the delivery room, releasing the tension gripping the entire family.
Tong Yao laughed, "What a loud voice! Out of all the kids in the family, this one’s cry is the strongest."
In the delivery room, after cutting the umbilical cord, Tong Airui rushed back to his wife’s side.
Though drained of energy, now that the pain had subsided, Yi Luowa regained some spirit. "Who does the baby look like?"
"I didn’t check." Tong Airui tenderly wiped the sweat off her face. "That little rascal put you through so much. I’m already being nice by not scolding him; how could I have the energy to check who he resembles?"
