Billionaire's Long Journey of Chasing His Love-Chapter 693 - 586: Why Should Her Grandson Be Pitied? (Part 1)_2
"Uncle, let me tell you another version of the story!" Maizekai walked over with a grin. "At the time, Ziyuan could only babble, he wouldn’t know how to say the word ’Heng.’ Actually, that day he was angry at Pengpeng and just went ’hmph’!"
"Haha..." Teng Qian burst into laughter. "A happy accident! Ziyuan gave a ’hmph,’ and our little Ziheng got his name!"
Marian laughed too, "Good thing his big brother gave that ’hmph.’ Later, I need to give Ziyuan a big red envelope—such a name can’t come for free!"
"Sister-in-law, don’t be stingy!" Angelina chuckled.
Marian playfully patted Angelina’s arm, "Oh, come on! When have I ever been stingy!"
Maizekai chuckled and strode toward the elevator.
Tong Yao gave him a suspicious look, "Why are you walking so fast? Where are you off to?"
"My second and sixth sisters are almost here, and my fourth brother asked me to go down and greet them."
Marian stiffened in surprise, "Rain Princess and Ai Ni Princess are coming too?"
"They’ve been close since they were kids. How could they not be here for Connie’s childbirth?" Tong Yao smiled. "Didn’t people say our family is small? Just wait until everyone shows up—you’ll be shocked to death!"
"Aunt is right; how could we not come?" Joyina and Youyou walked up from the stairwell, helping each other.
Tong Yao froze, "You two, with your big bellies, why did you come too?"
"Connie is having a baby; how could we not be here?" Youyou smiled and asked, "Aunt, has my fourth sister-in-law come out yet?"
"Soon. Did you two come here by yourselves?" Tong Yao felt a pang of concern; Yan Zi hadn’t notified her. Could these mischievous ladies have come on their own? If anything happened, how would she explain it to Yan Zi?
"Our parents are waiting for the next elevator; Joyina and I couldn’t wait, so we took the double-decker elevator to the sixth floor and climbed up from there." After greeting everyone, Youyou and Joyina dashed off to see the baby.
Marian gave a reproachful look at her second daughter-in-law. She’s always complaining that Connie has no status in the family, but look—everyone came rushing from all directions for her!
Marian was lost in thought when Yan Zi, Mi Xiaotian, Ni Lu, Mi Chenshuo, Little Raindrop, Teng Ai Ni, and Maizekai emerged from the elevator one after another.
Maizekai chuckled, "Going down was worth it—look how many people I managed to pick up!"
Tong Yao playfully smacked him, "You’re the MVP here. When I have time, I’ll personally make you a feast!"
The family chatted and laughed together, waiting until Connie came out of the delivery room to finally enter the ward.
Connie looked around at everyone, tears of gratitude streaming down her face.
"You’re not allowed to cry during postpartum recovery!" Tong Yao quickly wiped away her tears.
Connie chuckled, "Mom, these aren’t tears of sadness."
"Whatever the reason, no crying allowed."
Connie nodded firmly and turned to her own mother.
Marian gently stroked her daughter’s cheek, "Are you exhausted? Don’t say anything—just close your eyes and rest."
Connie smiled, "I’m fine. It’s Tong Aino who probably won’t make it."
Slumped on the sofa, Tong Aino weakly glanced at his wife, "That delivery room is simply not a place for humans!"
Maizekai looked at him mischievously, "Just wait. There’s an even bigger shock ahead for you."
Tong Aino furrowed his brow slightly, "Do you think I’m you? Off to the side with you!"
"Your fifth brother is the typical case of ’discard the donkey after the mill’s done’!" Connie teased.
Maizekai huffed in protest, "It’s ’discard the mill and the man,’ thank you very much!"
Haha... Everyone burst into laughter.
Amid the laughter, Connie’s gaze wandered.
Long Che walked over, carrying Ziheng. "Want to see the baby, don’t you?"
Connie smiled and asked, "Dad! Didn’t you say that if I had a boy, you wouldn’t hold him at all?"
"He’s my grandson—why wouldn’t I hold him!" Long Che smiled as he placed the baby beside her. "To be honest, I just didn’t want anyone accusing me of only loving Sangyu."
Yi Luowa pouted, "Dad, I only said that once, and you’re still holding it against me!"
"We have plenty of kids, but there are only three bearing the Aldridge name. Anyone who accuses me of favoritism clearly lacks a heart!"
Yi Luowa made a regretful face, "Dad, I promise never to accuse you again. Also, let me clarify—I have a heart; it’s just slightly off-centered. But I assure you, it’ll straighten out soon." Long Che nearly laughed aloud but quickly turned away.
Tong Airui buried his face behind his son, his wife and father both unbeatable actors!
Celia stood in the doorway, aware that Long Che and Yi Luowa were putting on a show for her, yet she dared not speak up.
Tong Yao chuckled, "Luowa, enough antics! I’ll stay here with Connie; you take everyone to eat—everyone must be starving by now."
"Got it." Yi Luowa leaned over Connie’s bed. "Hero of the day, what do you want to eat? I’ll have someone deliver it to you later."
Connie grinned, "You’re the real hero of this family! So far, you’re the only one who’s managed to bring us a sweet little princess."
Yan Zi pouted, "Not just ’so far’—think ’forever’! Joyina and Youyou are both carrying boys. Unless you all go for a second child, this generation is doomed to be a pack of little monks!"
Tong Yao turned to Yan Zi, "You took them for ultrasounds?"
"Yeah," Yan Zi replied with a look of utter resignation.
Joyina and Youyou exchanged glances, then both turned to their mother-in-law.
"What’s with those looks? Want to eat me up? I’ll tell you right now—I only like girls! You two keep having babies until you give me a granddaughter—then you’ll be off the hook!"
Youyou ignored her mother-in-law and turned to Joyina. "Joyina, I’m hungry. Are you hungry too?"
"I’m starving. Should we go grab something to eat?"
"Let’s go!" The two linked arms and walked out of the ward.
"Those two brats! Every time I ask them for a granddaughter, they gang up to annoy me!"
"Serves you right! Whether it’s boys or girls is up to your sons, so why pressure them!" Tong Yao interjected, turning to her mother-in-law, "Mom, you need to keep an eye on Yan Zi!"
"I’ll smack her when we get home!" Jing Ya replied with a laugh.
Marian looked at their family with envy, imagining how wonderful it would be if her own were just as harmonious.
Yi Luowa turned to Marian, "Aunt, shall we go eat?"
Marian smiled at Yi Luowa, "Nobody’s fighting me for this today—you all go eat; Celia and I will stay with Connie."
"But you came from so far away; won’t that be inconvenient?"
"Precisely because I came from afar, Celia and I should stay with Connie."
Yi Luowa glanced at Tong Yao.
Tong Yao grinned, "Your aunt probably wants to have some private words with Connie. Leave them be, and let the food be sent over shortly."
Connie nodded cheerfully and looked at Yi Luowa. "Sis-in-law, you go ahead. My mom loves crab yolk omelets—just bring her some of those."
"What about second sister-in-law? What does she like?"
"Not sure what she likes, but there’s plenty she doesn’t!" Connie dropped her smile and gently squeezed Yi Luowa’s hand.
Yi Luowa understood and ushered everyone out the door, leaving mother and daughter to their rare private moments.
As soon as everyone left, Connie turned to Celia with a serious face, "Second sister-in-law, did I say something wrong again?"
