Chapter 655: Chapter 557: What Should We Do About the Child? (Five Updates)

"Ten thousand words!" Another female team member nearly bit her tongue.

Yi Luowa smiled sweetly at the two of them, "Ten thousand words isn’t much. When I write reports, they’re usually twenty or thirty thousand words long. The more words, the more likely it is to get the leader’s attention. Don’t you think I’m right?"

"Right, right, right..."

"By the way, when you two write your reports, make sure they aren’t identical. If Captain Tong Airui finds out you’re being perfunctory, it might be difficult to handle."

Yi Luowa glanced back at the copier, a slight smile curling her lips. This couldn’t be blamed on her—after all, they were chatting idly instead of working properly.

The two female team members exchanged a look and lowered their heads despondently.

Yi Luowa saw that the required copies were done printing, swiftly gathered the materials, and cheerily said to the two, "Can I count on you to work in the back building? Thanks! Goodbye!"

After escorting Yi Luowa out the door, one team member stole a glance at the other and whispered, "She definitely heard it all but didn’t lose her temper with us."

"Don’t talk about it. Just hurry up and write the report. Ten thousand words—I definitely can’t finish it in just one night."

"Sigh... a soft knife cuts deeper than losing her temper! Let’s get to it."

Yi Luowa didn’t bother worrying about whether they could finish the report. Carrying her materials, she dashed back to this end of the office building and went straight to Colin’s office.

Colin took the materials and said with a grin, "Head over to Tong Airui’s office. He was just here looking for you."

"I was only gone for a short while. What’s he looking for me for?"

"He misses you!" Colin teased with a smile.

Yi Luowa rolled her eyes, "Even you’re joking with me! I’m out!"

"Go quickly."

Just as Yi Luowa stepped out the door, she saw Tong Airui walking out of his office. "You were looking for me?"

Tong Airui frowned slightly, "Why didn’t you wear a coat when you went over to the front office building?"

"Too much trouble, so I didn’t. Actually, running between these two places really is a pain." Yi Luowa muttered as she walked up to him, "What do you need me for?"

"I finished reviewing the documents and wanted to leave early, but after looking around for a while, I couldn’t find you."

Yi Luowa checked the time, "There’s still ten minutes until quitting time. Aren’t you concerned about people gossiping if you leave early?"

"Went out, came back, and your tone changed. Who pissed you off?" Tong Airui reached out and pulled her into the room.

"Who dares piss me off? I’ll deal with them in no time!" Yi Luowa huffed, cleaned up the computer she’d been using, and sat down.

Tong Airui poured her a cup of hot water, "Drink some hot water so you don’t catch a cold. I’ll go to your office and get your coat."

"And my bag."

"Got it." Tong Airui motioned for her to drink some water quickly before stepping out the door.

Ten minutes later, The Fourth Lord was downstairs with his wife’s bag in tow as the two of them left. Colin and Sheng Duheng watched their departing figures and chuckled.

"Airui really is just like Prime Minister Long Che—a good husband."

"Yeah, exactly! We used to bet on how long Long Che could pamper Tong Yao, and in the end, we all lost. He’s been pampering her for thirty years and probably will for life. Rui’er definitely takes after his father."

"A good woman deserves to be pampered!"

The two laughed as they headed downstairs as well.

Kou’er saw Yi Luowa and Tong Airui coming down and hurried to open the car door for them.

Yi Luowa said with concern, "It’s freezing out. You don’t have to come down just to open the car door for us—we have hands, you know."

"Yuan Hang left specific instructions. This is something I have to do." Kou’er replied with a smile, starting the engine.

Yi Luowa turned and asked Tong Airui, "When is Yuan Hang coming back? Don’t keep making a married couple live apart."

"Monday."

Kou’er smiled slightly. So that meant Yuan Hang would be back in three days.

Yi Luowa smiled in return. Yuan Hang returning would mean peace had truly taken hold in Haotian.

Tong Airui ruffled her hair, "When Yuan Hang gets back, Mom will be leaving. After the Spring Festival, she’ll be off to S Country to accompany Ai Ni. That’ll be a month or two away..."

Yi Luowa shook her head with a laugh, "With Dad around, she’s not going to leave for one or two months just like that."

"True." Tong Airui chuckled, "But that’s what Mom told me. Hopefully she and Dad won’t fight over this."

"They won’t fight—Mom will definitely find a solution." Yi Luowa rested her chin on her hand and slowly turned to Tong Airui. "If one day I want to stay with my mom for a month or two, would you agree?"

"What do you think?"

"You’re so nice, of course you’d agree!"

"I wouldn’t."

"Haha..." Kou’er couldn’t help but laugh out loud.

Tong Airui shot her a glance, "Did Yuan Hang never tell you not to listen in on our conversations?"

"He didn’t." Kou’er smiled just slightly.

Tong Airui snorted, lowering his gaze to Yi Luowa, "If it’s just five or six days, I can go with you. But if it’s more than seven days, forget it!"

Yi Luowa pouted. Thinking to herself, well, her feet were on her own legs—she’d hear him out when she wanted to and ignore him when she didn’t.

While they were still in the car, Yan Zi called.

"Rui’er, are you two home yet?"

"Just a few minutes away, Auntie. Is something wrong?"

"Hurry back—your mom and dad are about to start fighting."

Tong Airui froze, "Because of Mom going to S Country?"

"Yeah."

"Auntie, Mom and Dad won’t actually fight. Don’t worry... just hand Sang Yu to Dad, and I’ll hurry back."

"Alright, then hurry." Yan Zi hung up and dashed upstairs, coming down shortly with a newly awakened Sang Yu in her arms.

Long Che was arguing with his wife but, upon seeing his granddaughter pouting, quickly softened and took the child from his sister.

Sang Yu yawned and leaned listlessly against her grandpa’s chest.

Long Che brushed her head lightly and said to Tong Yao, "You’ll be gone for two months—won’t you miss Sang Yu and Zi Yan? Ai Ni isn’t due to give birth right away. After Spring Festival, I’ll go with you to visit her. Then when she delivers, I’ll go stay for the postnatal month. There’s so many people in their family, plus Old Master and Madam are there, so you only need a day or two."

Tong Yao glared at him, "When you fought my father for Ai Ni, she was practically your everything. Now it seems like she’s suddenly not your daughter anymore?"

"Who says she isn’t my daughter? I care about her too. But if you’re gone, then..."

"With Mom and Yan Zi managing the house, plus Yi Luowa and Connie holding everything up, me being away for a while is absolutely no issue."

Long Che squinted at her, just about to respond, when Sang Yu suddenly burst into tears.

"What made her cry now?" Long Che worriedly looked at his granddaughter.

"Pee—" Sang Yu wailed again.

Tong Yao hurriedly took her from him and carried her to the bathroom, leaving Long Che fuming and pacing in the living room.

Yan Zi stifled a smirk, "Brother, this really is on you. Ai Ni giving birth—how could my sister-in-law not go? Don’t interfere."

"I’m not stopping her! I just don’t want her to stay away for so long!" Long Che raised his foot as if to kick the coffee table but quickly withdrew it when he saw his son and daughter-in-law coming in.

Yi Luowa smiled, "Dad, what’s the matter? Did Sang Yu make you mad or was it Zi Yan?"

"Your mom made me mad!" Long Che turned to Yan Zi. "You brought Sang Yu down—what about Zi Yan?"

"He’s still sleeping."

"They always wake up together... Sang Yu waking first proves you disturbed her! I knew something was off about her waking mood."

Yan Zi rolled her eyes and quickly went back upstairs.

Long Che gestured at his sister and said to his son, "Everyone in this house is rebelling! I haven’t even said anything before she gives me attitude."

Tong Airui scratched his nose and grinned, "With your temper flaring all the time, who wants to listen to you rant?"

Long Che squinted at his son darkly, "Get out!"

"Dad told you to get lost. Hurry up and scram!" Yi Luowa teased, nudging Tong Airui upstairs.

"Hold on, let me finish before I leave." Tong Airui turned back to his father, "It’s not that big a deal. On the way home, I called my boss, Mutai Dada, and got you thirty days of vacation."

Long Che frowned, "Mutai gave me thirty days off?"

"Your daughter-in-law knows how to talk. A couple of kind words, and my dear boss agreed right away."

Long Che’s frown didn’t ease. "If your mom and I leave, what about Sang Yu and Zi Yan?"
