Chapter 506: Chapter 436: Who to Play With if Not You! (Second Update)

Yi Luowa’s premonition was quickly validated. Three days later, Mi Chenxuan and You still hadn’t returned. Seven days later, they were still nowhere to be seen.

Yi Luowa was stunned.

The entire family also began to feel uneasy.

Tong Airui appeared calm on the surface, but internally, he was far from composed because Mi Chenxuan and You had lost contact!

This disappearance was something he didn’t dare disclose to the family, so he could only stew in silent frustration, ultimately having no choice but to send Phantom to investigate.

As the wedding date drew closer, Tong Airui glanced at the marked date on the calendar and couldn’t help but furrow his brows.

Sheng Duheng knocked and walked in. "Airui, they’ve been found!"

Tong Airui immediately stood up. "Where are they?"

Sheng Duheng smiled and said, "On their way back. They’ll be home tonight."

Tong Airui immediately relaxed. "Did Old Eight mention what went wrong during the process?"

"The other party was too cunning and almost turned the tables on our people. After You arrived, she and Xuanxuan split the team into two groups. It took considerable effort, but they eventually captured the person we needed." Sheng Duheng’s excitement was palpable. "Airui, You’s skills are incredible!"

Tong Airui gave a helpless smile. "I had no choice. Everyone else was tied up, so I had to ask You for help. But this trip? It took so long. I’ve been terrified of going home these past few days, constantly facing my wife’s resentful puppy-dog eyes..."

Sheng Duheng chuckled and shook his head. "Luowa has been more than understanding. I’ve not seen her give you any pressure. If it were someone else, they’d be throwing fits daily! Hurry up and call home; let everyone celebrate."

"Second Uncle, I’ll call in a bit. Right now, we need to prepare for what’s next. Once the target arrives, you and Seventh Uncle must personally handle the interrogation. No one else can know about this."

"Understood," Sheng Duheng nodded solemnly.

"Extract the information we need and—" Tong Airui gestured at his neck with a slicing motion.

Sheng Duheng responded gravely, "Understood. I’ll handle it. Just pretend you know nothing about it."

"As long as there’s no incident, I’ll pretend I don’t know anything. But if something goes wrong, I must know," Tong Airui said with a faint smile. "Second Uncle, go ahead and make the arrangements. I’ll call the family."

Sheng Duheng acknowledged with a nod and left the room.

When Yi Luowa received Tong Airui’s call, she immediately shared the good news with everyone. The household, gloomy for days, came alive again.

Tong Yao smiled and said, "I’ll call the island right away to check on the arrangements over there. Only five days left!"

"I’ll call Xiaotian and share the good news with him too," Yan Zi said with a relieved smile, pulling out her phone. "Thank goodness they’re returning; otherwise, I don’t even know how I’d explain this to Ni Lu."

Yi Luowa gave an apologetic smile. "It’s all Tong Airui’s fault for worrying everyone. When he gets back, Auntie, you should give him a good scolding."

Yan Zi laughed, "We can’t entirely blame Rui’er for this. Xuanxuan is a member of the Falcon Squad; going on missions is part of his job. Even if this means the wedding gets postponed, I wouldn’t hold it against Rui’er."

"Auntie, you’re so reasonable!" Yi Luowa said, wrapping her arms affectionately around Yan Zi’s shoulders.

Yan Zi patted her cheek. "Auntie isn’t someone who doesn’t know how to be fair."

Yi Luowa nodded enthusiastically. "Exactly! My aunt is the most understanding! Now, hurry and call Uncle."

...

In the evening, Mi Chenxuan and You walked into the house hand in hand. Silly Xuan thought that, after being away for so long, his family would surely line up to welcome them. Instead, upon entering, the household was gathered around the three children, laughing and chatting, completely ignoring the two of them. Mi Chenxuan looked around, still no one paid him any attention.

"Ahem..." Silly Xuan cleared his throat.

"If you’re sick, stay away from the kids. Don’t infect them," Yan Zi remarked, casting him a sidelong glance.

"Mom~ I’m your son!"

"I know," Yan Zi said while stroking Pengpeng’s little head.

"Both your son and daughter-in-law have been away for days, and you don’t miss us at all," Silly Xuan said, stepping closer.

"Miss you? Miss you so you can annoy me again?" Yan Zi shot him another glare.

Mi Chenxuan clutched his chest dramatically, "Grandma~ Auntie~ Fourth Sister-in-law~ Fifth Sister-in-law~ Seventh Sister-in-law~" 𝚏𝕣𝕖𝚎𝚠𝚎𝚋𝚗𝐨𝐯𝕖𝕝.𝕔𝐨𝕞

He made a round of calls, yet no one responded.

Mi Chenxuan sniffled and leaned his head on You’s shoulder, putting on the air of a wronged daughter-in-law. "Youyou, you’re all I’ve got."

You affectionately patted his face. "Don’t worry, I won’t abandon you."

"Call me Sister-in-law, and I’ll talk to you," Joyina said with a teasing smile as she ran over.

Mi Chenxuan reached out to push her away. "Go play somewhere else, kid! Don’t cause trouble."

"Hmph!" Joyina clenched her fists and waved them near his face. "No dinner for you two tonight!"

"Haha..." Yi Luowa couldn’t hold back her laughter anymore. "Look at how pitiful Old Eight looks. Let’s punish him lightly and let it go."

"You’re all ganging up on me!" Mi Chenxuan pouted in dissatisfaction.

"Who else should we gang up on? You had us worried for days," Joyina snapped at him.

"Go play somewhere else, kid." Mi Chenxuan turned to smile and asked, "Why is the house full of women? Where are the men?"

Connie pointed at Ziyan and Pengpeng. "The men are right here."

Mi Chenxuan smiled and walked over. "Wow, our two little men are getting more and more handsome!"

Lady Jing Ya smiled and pointed to the baby in her arms, "Look at this one."

Mi Chenxuan walked over, crouched in front of his grandmother’s knees, and carefully examined little Sangyu. "Wow! This little beauty is going to break countless hearts in the future."

Sangyu glanced at him before continuing to suck on the pacifier.

Mi Chenxuan reached out his hands. "Let Uncle hold her..."

"No holding!" You grabbed his hand and stopped him.

"Uncle’s not home," Mi Chenxuan said, winking at her.

You shook her head. "Whether he’s home or not, you can’t hold her."

Mi Chenxuan pouted and stood up.

"You’re not nearly as self-aware as You!" Long Che said with a laugh as he walked in, and the men in the family began trickling into the room.

"Uncle, where did you guys go?" Mi Chenxuan smiled and asked.

"Had a shooting competition." Long Che smiled and clapped him on the shoulder. "It’s good to have you back."

After saying that, Long Che sat down on the couch.

Mi Chenxuan smiled, then turned to his father. "Dad, who won?"

"Your grandfather won!" Mi Xiaotian gave his son a once-over. "You’re tanned and have lost some weight—but it’s good to have you home!"

Just as Mi Xiaotian sat down, Mi Chenshuo walked over and clapped his younger brother on the shoulder. "Good to have you back!"

Tong Aino also gave him a light tap. "Welcome back!"

Mike Zekai adjusted his glasses slowly. "Good to have you back!"

Mi Chenxuan stood frozen as one after the other patted him playfully. When they were done, he shouted, "Can’t you all be a bit more original or sincere?"

"The creative ones are coming," Tong Aino teased, glancing at the door.

Tong Airui walked in, supporting Prince Charles. The prince smiled warmly at Mi Chenxuan. "Xuanxuan, you’re back!"

Mi Chenxuan nodded with a grin. "Yep, I’m back. Grandpa, I heard you won?"

"Everyone let me win; it’s not fair competition," Prince Charles said with a kind smile.

Mi Chenxuan grinned and turned to Tong Airui.

Tong Airui raised an eyebrow. "What are you standing there for? Go sit down."

"Alright." Mi Chenxuan walked over to Prince Charles with a smile, offering his arm. "Grandpa, let me help you over to the couch."

"You’ve worked hard," Prince Charles said, patting his hand affectionately.

"It wasn’t too hard, just a bit tedious," Mi Chenxuan said with a laugh as he helped the elder to his seat.

Mike Zekai spoke up slowly. "Old Eight, where have you been? You were gone so long."

Mi Chenxuan shook his head. "I can’t say."

"Figures," Mike Zekai muttered with a smirk.

"You can’t ask about Old Four or Old Eight’s missions!" Mi Chenshuo clapped Mike Zekai on the shoulder. "Ask about ours if you want."

"Anything goes?" Mike Zekai asked mischievously.

Mi Chenshuo gave him a look of disdain. "Just not anything personal."

"Then I have nothing to ask," Mike Zekai said with a chuckle, turning to Yan Zi. "Auntie, let us know when you’re heading to Laiwang Island so I can inform my mom."

"Three days before the wedding should be fine," Yan Zi said, nudging Mi Xiaotian.

Mi Xiaotian nodded. "Yeah."

"Let’s eat first, then sort out the details," Tong Yao said, ushering everyone toward the dining room.

After dinner, You pulled Yi Luowa aside into the side hall.

Yi Luowa looked at her suspiciously. "What’s with the mystery? What happened?"

"Sis, do you still have that ointment?" You asked quietly.

Yi Luowa froze. "Did you get hurt?"

"It’s not me, it’s Mi Chenxuan." You’s eyes reddened. "He doesn’t want me to tell anyone."

"Where’s he hurt? Is it serious?" Yi Luowa grabbed her hand and started walking outside. "I’ll head upstairs and grab the ointment for you."
